From the owner: Welcome to Inari Women’s Health, Albuquerque’s premier holistic health clinic. Dr. Jen is…read morespecialized in treating the mind, body and spirit using acupuncture and traditional chinese medicine. We offer complementary and alternative care for all types of pain, physical and emotional, and have specialized training in women’s health and fertility. My goal is to offer women alternatives to medications and surgery to help treat hormonal imbalances with acupuncture, herbal medicine, and lifestyle changes. Some of the things I treat include: painful periods, heavy periods, amenorrhea, pms, anovulation, endometriosis, pcos, and unexplained infertility. I also treat a lot of anxiety, depression, insomnia, headaches, and lower back pain. Much of my work is with prenatal and postnatal care. I love helping mamas feel their best! I also love helping people ease into puberty and menopause. The transition can be much quicker and easier with acupuncture and/or herbs. I am perhaps most grateful when I am able to help someone heal from trauma or after the loss of a loved one. This medicine can really help with matters of the heart and spirit. I realize that the phrase “women’s health” can be off-putting for some. It is not my intention to exclude anyone from care. I just want the people I am best able to help to be able to find me. Please know that everyone is welcome here, regardless of sex, gender, age or their condition. Invest in your health by booking with Inari on my website today!

I came to Dr Thompson when I was trying to have a baby and was doing IUI's. At one appointment I came with my boyfriend. Because we were not married he decided to pull me into his office right before the IUI procedure to give me a "talk". It was about not being married and doing the procedure and how I should really think about whether I wanted to do the procedure. It was very unprofessional and although I opted to still do it, I was crying and I'm sure crying did not help me in regards to getting pregnant. I would never recommend Dr. Thompson. He is very old school in his beliefs. I ended up going to Dr. Caperton for help in getting pregnant and he was great. Now I have a little girl too.

I've never been compelled to leave a review for anything -- but in this situation, I think it's…read moreimportant to share my experience so that others may never be in the same situation as me. My husband and I decided to visit Dr. Thompson after I experienced two miscarriages, one of which was an ectopic pregnancy. My primary physician thought it would be a good idea for us to seek assistance following these losses. At first we were excited and hopeful for success with Dr. Thompson. Dr. Thompson directed us to try IUI (intra-uterine insemination). The first attempt was not successful -- but we didn't let that get us down. We went on to attempt 10 to 12 more. I'm not exactly sure of the number, as we did so many that I lost count -- all with no success. Prior to our attempts of IUI, it was never mentioned to me -- or even spoken of -- that it would be medically sound to explore my personal health to rule out conditions that might hinder my ability to become pregnant or carry a baby to full-term. There was no mention of possible endometriosis, PCOS or ANY condition that would be critical to be aware of before investing thousands of dollars into repeated IUI's. I was told, "Let's try again next month" or "Maybe you should try IVF." Then they provided what the cost would be for that versus IUI. It was NEVER mentioned that perhaps they should explore what may be going on with ME that might be hindering my ability to carry a baby. It felt very much like we were a revenue stream for them -- and that they would have continued performing IUI's until we "aged out" -- or ran out of money. We started to feel uncomfortable with no conversation except, "Let's try again next month." We had spent thousands of dollars and endured much sadness and heartbreak during what we felt was our prime childbearing years. However, we weren't ready to abandon our dream to have a child -- or children. After much consideration and diligent research, we reached out to another fertility specialist, for a second opinion. Immediately, they thoroughly examined the record of each procedure I had been through and questioned why so many IUI's were performed -- and also questioned why they would be encouraged by a professional. After testing for what should have been investigated long ago, the fertility specialist diagnosed endometriosis. This, in particular, is so disheartening, as this testing could have -- and should have -- been done long ago.....and has robbed us of critical fertility years in our pursuit to become parents. Infertility is a heartbreaking rollercoaster of emotions. I only share this information and my experience in hope that no one should have to go through the tears and heartbreak that we faced for years and knew nothing about -- until now. Now..... when it is possibly too late to do something about. I would absolutely never recommend this fertility center.

After they…read morefound fibroids on my ultrasound, I was referred over to Dr. Valdez for a surgical consult, and I'm so grateful I landed in her care! She's kind, knowledgeable, and patient, always taking time to explain procedures and options (as well as risks), and always answered all of my questions (and my partner's and mom's). I also really appreciate that she's not a fluff person, just direct and to the point, but she also laughs and jokes with us. It's apparent she deeply cares about her patient's. Dr. Valdez got me the referral to hematology that the original nurse refused, and my iron infusions really helped with my anemia and iron deficiency. She then did my myomectomy this summer, which unfortunately didn't last, and my fibroids came back right away (to no fault of hers), so I got in for a hysterectomy with her in November. Besides blood clots, which I was at higher risk for, I've had zero complications or issues, and both of my post-op appointments were pain-free and reassuring. Both of my ultrasound technicians were also wonderful, making sure I was comfortable and took their time to make sure they got everything. I highly recommend Dr. Valdez for any gynecological surgery needs!

The visit started with an EXCELLENT cup of whole milk hot cocoa. Intake was extremely smooth as I had been given ample opportunity to fill out paperwork at home and online.
