    this is a response to Shauna…read more I'm Steve, I had given you the quote for the fireplaces well before we even spoke about me coming out to your lake lot. we spoke on the phone three of four times in the span of a week. I even asked for pictures before hand so that I could give you information on what could or couldn't be done to try and save a trip out there. When you asked for me to come out to your lake lot (an hour and a half away, one way, so a three hour total trip) thats when I said that I would need money to cover my gas and time, on my day off no less. I advised you well before booking the site check and you even cancelled it once. you were never forced to book the site check. Once out there I had measured everything up for the wood fireplace as we discussed and planned beforehand, once I told you and your husband where it would stick out (3-4 ft into the room due to your roofline) you swapped over to gas, I measured everything up as well for the gas fireplace but there was no real way to get gas to the location you wanted so you then asked for electric fireplaces. I measured up for that and you had asked if we do all the finishing work and tiling etc, which we don't, so I advised that if you wanted a contractor to do that that I could give you the name of someone who could. I also mentioned that he could install the electric. while he would be doing that work as it would save you money on trip charges etc. so after three hours of driving and an hr of being there, I don't think $200.00 is unfair for 4 hrs of time and expertise. I get that you are upset that you paid $200.00 for a result that you didn't want, but my duty is to give my clients honest and proper information. The crazy story that you post as a way to get back at me is quite petty if you ask me but you do what you need to do. To everyone who reads this, once you meet me and talk with me you will know the type of person I am and the service that I give to all my clients. Thank you all and god bless.

The web page does say "formerly Fireplaces by Weiss-Johnson" which they probably shouldn't use. Had picked out a FireTable for which I was told had a two week delivery time. They booked a site visit for the gas lines with an installation date the following day. At the site visit it was discovered the job was much more involved and required lines that they would have to order in so install date set for two weeks later. Two days before that I'm told the parts were not available and we need to push the date another two weeks. I asked when the fire table was coming in as I had provided a 50% deposit. They checked and it would not be available for another 6 weeks. I cancelled the order and was refunded. Communication and organization are key to a job well done and I feel both were lacking in this situation.

    Monday November 24 2014 I went into Fireplace Gallery to look for a new wood stove. When I walked…read morein the door I was greeted by smiling faces by two young ladies working at the front desk. They asked what I was looking for and if I had any questions. I replied saying that I wanted to look around and I would ask if I needed assistance. They both smiled and said let us know! Also that they had hot coffee, tea or water if I would like. As I walked around there store I was filled with joy and knew that I was in the right store to purchase. Finally I noticed a wood stove that caught my eye and I asked a young lady named Amanda for some help. She was so amazing! I was blown away with her knowledge and professionalism. We sat down and she was able to provide me with all of the information that I needed. I was extremely impressed. She gave me a price and with no hesitation I said LOAD ME UP!!!! The following day Nov 25 I started installing my new wood stove and had some questions. I called Fireplace Gallery and asked to speak with Amanda hoping she would know the answers to my questions. Well she DID!! She was able to walk me through my entire install. She was amazing. I am extremely impressed with my whole experience. I will always recommend Fireplace Gallery!

    Our heat pump wasn't functioning, and because of the reviews on YELP we asked them to send out a…read moreservice technician. The communication beforehand was excellent. The technician arrived on time, was courteous, professional and seemed to be competent. After about 30-45 minutes he told us that we needed to replace the heat pump and that it could not be repaired. We paid the service fee of about $200 and asked that they send out someone who could give us a estimate to replace the heat pump. 2 days later another technician came out, and gave us an estimate. Again, he was on time, courteous, professional and friendly. I mentioned the need to replace the heat pump to a friend who lives in our building. He mentioned another company and so we called them to get an estimate on replace the heat pump. They came out, and looked at it, asked some questions, did some maintenance and the heat pump is working! No replacement needed! Getting this 2nd opinion saved us literally thousands of $. We are so grateful for the other company and will probably not call Acclaimed! again for a repair - since either their technicians are not competent, or they tried to sell us something we didn't need. After I posted this review, the owner of the company apologized for the misdiagnosis and offered to refund the initial service fee. He was very polite, listening and we had a good conversation. He handled this with grace and so much better than other owners. I'll raise my rating to a 2 from a 1 because of this call. It was appreciated.

I tried all the things I could do myself such as cleaning off the filter screen and cleaniing the condenser unit from stray grass clippings. When nothing worked, I turned to yelp to find a well-rated company. I tried several but Acclaimed were the only ones to answer the telephone or e-mail. The technician was personable and arranged for a technician to come next day. I'm accustomed to repairpersons arriving at the end of the time window but Ed arrived right in the middle. In less than two hours he found our problem - a failed electrolytic capacitor. Great to have working air con on these hot July days. I might have given Acclaimed the full 5 stars but I thought they were slightly pricy. On the other hand they did respond quickly to solve our problem. Maybe sometimes you do get what you pay for.
