AJT was recommended to us for our roof and gutters. Mike was came to evaluate the job and give us a quote. We chose to go with AJT over the other 2 quotes we recieved because Mike was the only one who actually went on our roof to evaluate which I felt was important. No hidden surprises that may have come from the other quotes. Roof was done in 1 day and gutters the day after. Both crews left our property spotless of any debris or nails. Right before Christmas, I had called AJT for a chimney sweep and to talk through some potential concerns i had. I had other companies coming over prior to this visit to check out my chimneys and it quickly became clear that they were trying to charge me for work that wasn't needed and were clearly overpricing the work. I had the pleasure of speaking with Mike, their foreman, about my concerns i had and he was excellent. Went above and beyond to check out my chimney, take pictures, and talk me through my original concerns around waterproofing and the cracks in my chimney crown. He talked about industry trends in the chimney business and was very knowledgeable about this line of work. Considering I had hired AJT (Mike and Moose) Nov of 2019 to replace the siding of my home, a ~$21K job, and had a generally positive experience (the only real con was they essentially subcontracted the work to another company and never told me anything, it did feel somewhat of a bait and switch, but again generally a positive experience) I decided to reach out again for the repair of my balcony. I originally reached out to Mike late 2020 (~Sept) and received little to no response, but considering it was late in the season and all the craziness of COVID I decided to hold off on the project. In May of 2021 I reached out to Mike several times, but again little to no response, aside from Mike's traditional long text message responses saying he would call me back. I then decided to contact Moose in June and did have some progress as he quickly got Mike over to my home to discuss the project. Mike came and promised a quote in a few days, but that promise came and went and again we went back to not picking up my calls. I called Moose and he promised a quote in several days, but that promise also came and went, eventually Moose also stopped picking up my calls... All VERY frustrating. In short, I wish they were just straight forward with me, and either tell me they are too busy or simply not interested in my business. The NJ spring / summer is short and they simply wasted my time. AJT was helping me with various roof leaks during 2020 and I finally decided to replace the entire roof towards the end of the year before winter arrived. They also replaced my attic fan while they were up there. They gave me a fair price, did great work, were very clean and protected my new paver driveway with a heavy duty tarp. When you call the office, you'll most likely speak to Moose or Taner who are very nice and accommodating. Mike, the project manager, is very nice and gives you an honest assessment of the situation. This is the 2nd time I've hired AJT to work on my home, and like last time, I'm "complete"-ly happy with the results. Mike and Moose were quick with their response and getting out to inspect my problem to give me a quote. I feel that the quote was accurate and fair. They and their crew arrived on-time to do the work as scheduled, and besides the repairs, they left no trace inside or outside that there had been contractors ripping up the roof and working on the site. Mike always takes time to explain the problem to me and how they are going to address the problem as effectively as possible, gives me updates on their progress, and gives me tips to avoid potential issues in the future - I trust their expertise. Moose sent a crew the same day to assess what needed to be done. I received a detail quote via email 2 days later. I accepted the quote and they came 3 days later to complete the repairs. We hired them to clean our chimney last year and they did a great job. Recently we had a squirrel chew a giant hole in the side of our house next to the chimney, and they came back and patched it up. They color matched perfectly, and you would never know there was an issue. They also re-caulked our chimney, and the work was precise and well done. For everything they did, it was not very expensive, either. We just noticed that they fixed some other damage to the side of the house that was not even in the work order - they went above and beyond! We will hire them again for another chimney sweep and for gutter cleaning this month. I needed stairs replaced on the front and side of my house and spent months getting estimates from numerous contractors until I found one that was reasonably priced, professional and I was comfortable to work with. Everything from the estimating to completion of the work happened ahead of schedule and beyond my expectations. They are complete professionals and their work is outstanding.
