Horrible service over the past year. So many no shows and last minute cancellations. We have them one final try for a breech in child care coverage. I reached out to therm ahead of time to confirm availability and ensure no issues. Given the assurance that there would be no issues. Then two consecutive last minute child care fails! So frustrating. To make things worse I have been waiting for nearly two months for my FULL refund. I have reached out numerous times. They held my money for over a month and now we're are here at nearly two months and I am still awaiting for the rest of my refund to be processed. I wanted to love this service and give them my business as I believe that particularly with their nanny cab option they are providing a much needed service in the Sacramento area. However they are failing horribly on delivering!!!! Such a disappointment. Honestly I am uncertain how this organization is still in business with their horrible incompetencies, deplorable business practices and a horrible lack of customer service/customer focus. Clearly the owner does not understand that the families they are hoping to serve need dependable child care, a company that says what they say they are going to do, and that these families do not have time to track or beg for their money back when this service fails to deliver at the last minute. Quality of nannies: 5 stars! Quality of agency: 2 stars! We had repeated schedule conflicts with this agency that resulted in me having to call in to my job on 2 occasions. Mind you that was just the month of March! When I tried to reach Lydia the first time it took her over an hour to get back to me and the second time she was out of town with no service but never followed up with me either. We had to look for a more reliable nanny else where. With the high application fee and extra expensives I would not recommend this agency. The first time we had a schedule conflict Lydia did credit my account $30 which was fair. But this last time I missed 5 hours of work and did not even receive an apology from Lydia. read more

My review is for Patty D. (Patricia) specifically through Capitol Child Care. Patty has been my daughter's nanny for the past year and a half. She is kind, patient, and very experienced. My daughter took to her right away. As a first time parent looking for childcare for an infant, Patty put me at ease and I knew my daughter was in good hands. She's amazing at establishing/maintaining routines! My schedule is constantly changing and Patty has been able to meet our needs through all of it. She is flexible and reliable. I never worried about whether or not she would show up, she was just always there. My daughter starts a structured preschool program in August and we are going to miss seeing Patty nearly every day. I highly recommend her if you're looking for care for your infant or toddler. read more

Update: We've had our nanny Kristyn for several months now. She's so great with our daughter, I can tell they have fun together and we don't have to worry while we're gone. Kristyn is great and we feel lucky to have her in our home. We've been using Capitol child care for a month now and they're great! We were looking for a part time sitter for about 20 hours a week and had several people never show up for interviews and one lady quit before starting. I love this company! I've worked for Lydia off and on for the past couple of years and have seen how much hard work she puts into running a successful business and making sure her clients are happy. She also does a wonderful job at making sure her employees are happy and feel good with the families they are placed with. I recently came back on the team after working in an office job for a year, she has done a wonderful job at being accommodating to my situation since I am pregnant and finding work is difficult! While I haven't been placed with a family yet I know she's been working hard to try to find a good fit for me and that in and of its self means a lot to have a boss who cares so much. A little late reviewing but finally remembered. Kids right?! I contacted the agency in March for a date night and it was all set up or so I thought. After doing all the online forms and account creation a babysitter didn't show up. I called the scheduler and nothing. Then the babysitter called me back and said she was never contacted and alerted that she had a job. This was the 2nd time it had happened and would be the last time. I had used them previously with no problems but the business model changed twice since to the detriment of folks like me who need occasional care. This has been, hands down the best experience I've had with a nanny agency and with nannies in general, ever. I've tried for the last two years to find good childcare for my children and it's been a struggle!! So far I've had Elena come as a fill in babysitter and Amanda be placed as our full time nanny. They were both AWESOME!! Elena is kind, sweet, fun, peaceful and perfectly trained. Then came Amanda and there are just not enough words! She is so fun and full of energy. Our kids are happy, tired, peaceful, joyful and content at the end of the day. They aren't freaked out that I was gone or scared when I left. Amanda is tidy without stress, helpful without being pushy, and absolutely gracious when plans change or I need her to change her schedule. And she plays with the boys for hours. We have been so happy with working with Lydia and our nanny, Delece. As a first time mom of twins, I was very nervous about starting child care part time when returning to work. Using CCC has put my mind at ease. My work schedule is flexible, so we don't need full-time care just yet. Using CCC has allowed us to only schedule care when we need it and not worry about fitting our into someone's schedule. Thankfully, we have exclusively worked with Delece and not had multiple nannies watching our babies. Nanny taxis service does not work. Twice I made reservations twice I confirmed my reservations and they did not show up to take my son to school. Luckily I was in the process of trying out the service and I was able to get him to school. What if I had gone to work?! I wanted to like the service. I spoke to the owner several times. We've been using Date Night Sitters/Capitol Child Care for a few years now, and have seen them ebb and flow between being tolerable and being awful. But the overall trend is definitely towards awful. So many times we've been left in the lurch by them bailing on us at the last minute (or by them ignoring requests made well in advance). It's got to the point where we don't trust them to show up. If you are using them every day they are probably okay, but just several hours a week? Forget about it! You are a third-rate client to them. The caliber of baby-sitters they hire is very inconsistent, because they target mostly young inexperienced sitters. So if you're lucky you'll get a gem, but probably not. And even if you do get a good one, they won't be around for long. This also means many of their sitters can't even handle average toddler tantrums or parent separation anxiety. This is what happened to us. After years of no problems or complaints from numerous sitters, we had two sitters who freaked out over a 2 year-old's tantrums. Then we were told they didn't have anyone for us, and that it was somehow our fault. The agency doesn't communicate with their clients well. And we've heard first-hand from several sitters over the years that there are ongoing problems with how they are being managed. So turnover is very high. If you can find another option, go with that. These guys are not to be relied on on a regular basis for occasional baby sitting. read more

I had high hopes for this "agency" when I agreed to work with them. I had posted an ad on a Facebook nanny group looking for a part time nanny when I got a response from someone named lydia. When I called her I found out that she was the owner of capitol nannies. She sounded very friendly and told me it would cost $150 for her to find a nanny for my children. I forked it over, gave her some information regarding what I was looking for and waited. A few days later I received a call from her saying that her friend was looking for a nannying job and it would be a great fit. She sent her friend out before doing required background checks. She was late to the interview, but I know things happen. The girl seemed nice enough so I had her come out to do a trial day with my nanny I've had for years. She was late again. Then, I received a text from my current nanny saying she thought the new girl might be on drugs! I got some clarification, let lydia know of my concerns and lydia immediately called her and confronted her while she was working! She told her to not say anything else and to "keep it together." I thought maybe my nanny wasn't getting a good feel on her so I gave the new girl another chance with a different babysitter who was temporarily covering until I found a permanent nanny. She was late again! The babysitter got the same vibes and thought something was "off." I ended up finding a family that the girl used to babysit for. I was told "she is dangerous and I will never have her around my kids." Later I found out my iPad was missing and this girl was the only new person in our home. Finally I had told lydia that this girl wouldn't work out. I thought, as a nanny agency, that she would have a pool of people to choose from. But she posted an ad for our position on facebook! I could have done that for free. So now, over a month later I still haven't gotten a nanny from this agency. When I told the agency that I found someone on my own, there was no apology, no offer to reimburse the $150 and no offer to replace the ipad. In fact, she charged my not only the $150 for nanny placement (which never occurred), but also for the nanny's time spent at my house even though she never actually provided care for my children. Horrible, dishonest people. All she does is troll Facebook sites and recruit people from there and then charge families for her "time." read more

If there was a place to put 10 stars, Capitol Child Care deserves 20 stars! I am not a normal "reviewer," don't have too much time for that with being a mom and all. But for this agency, I am making the time. First, I have been so impressed with the owner, Lydia. She made the entire process of looking for a mommy helper/nanny/babysitter so easy. Impressive given that my standards for customer service are super high in this area. And they should be. I'm looking for someone to watch my child, our family's most prized possession. Lydia exceeded all expectations. And I was so shocked at how affordable this service is. I've been through other providers and their up front costs are outrageous. Lydia is so so so responsive and professional. She just knew that the caregiver she recommended and I would click. And she was spot on. Thank you Lydia for making this process so stress free for my family. We haven't even met but you feel like family! Second, I can't praise the hired mommy's helper enough. I'm scared to mention her by name because as soon as I do some one will hire her 24/7 and she won't be available to help us! So I'm just going to call her "A," for awesome, at the moment. I met A recently, for part time mommy helper assistance. We clicked instantly. She is so professional and attentive to my child's needs. I have a habit of still getting involved even though A is there to help. But A does an awesome job of reminding me to take it easy and that she is there to assist. Previous caregivers would just let me help and then I'd exhaust myself by the end of the day. Not A, she upward manages me in such a good way! Then there is the relationship with A has with my child. My child instantly took to A at their first visit. To the point where he wanted to see her daily. I consider myself a fun mom, doing experiments and crafting. And A is exactly like me. It's like I've cloned myself and I never ever knew anyone else in the world would be as excited as I am when doing crafting projects or science experiments with my son. But A totally is! She has taken things to a whole new level in terms of doing things that engage my child. Not that A has replaced me, because she is very good at doing activities where my son thinks of me! Like playing restaurant and making a play dough plate of food for mommy and daddy. Which was so cute. I've used nannies/babysitters for the last five years and I've never met anyone like A. We are so blessed that she has come into our lives. A, I'm sorry I didn't mention you by name. Originally we just wanted a mommy helper for the two weeks I'm out of commission. But because of how awesome you are and how affordable this service is, we want to see if we can use your services MORE! If I can't do that, then I will gladly come back and review you again by name because you deserve all the success in the world. Thank you A, you have become part of our family in less than a week! Based off of the recommendation from another childcare professional, I contacted ccc and spoke with Lydia, the owner, about 6 months before services were needed. Lydia told me to call about about 6 weeks before we needed a nanny and to fill out the nanny matching application online, to the tune of $250. I did as instructed, and then once the application was submitted, Lydia called and we spoke again. I was told I would be contacted shortly with the name and a time to meet my perfectly matched nanny. So, I waited and waited and then the week before I was to go back to work full time, I reached out to them to ask when the meet and greet was to occur. I got an email back telling me I should hear something any day. 4 days before I was to go back to work, I was scheduled to meet my nanny the next day. The nanny came out, as scheduled, she seemed so-so but at that point, I felt like I didn't have any other option but to go with it. So, I did. And my perfectly matched nanny was an hour late the first day, let my dog trash the house the second day, and then was an hour late the third day. When I let ccc management know of the tardiness issue and said it wasn't working out, the said they had another perfectly matched nanny they could send out. But, days later that nanny never appeared for a meet and greet and instead they sent out a substitute nanny who was late by an hour again. I personally spoke with Lydia about the issues we were having and I have never experienced such a lack of caring, and it clearly has filtered down to her staff. read more

I have been a client of TLC nannies for about 7 months and have been provided with excellent childcare. I work part time and have a variable schedule, which makes finding a nanny very difficult. TLC nannies is the perfect answer because someone on the team is typically able to meet my needs. Our primary nanny Sydney is very responsible and friendly and my kids love playing with her. If Sydney isn't available for any reason, she helps find a backup nanny for us. They recently changed to an online booking system, where I can go online and book my appointments, which has it's ups and downs, but overall, it's been working pretty well. read more

I found out about this company a few months ago when I suddenly found myself without childcare as school time was coming to an end. The owner, Lydia, responded to my inquiry in a local mom's group. I went to their site and contacted the owner to find out more about how their process worked. I found them to be quite pricey, but I told myself that the upside to it all was that I would not have to look for childcare myself, or vet them or even worry about payments and taxes. It was all done through the company. So, needless to say, I paid the $250 to join and a lovely young lady was placed with our family rather quickly. By summertime, I did not need as much help, as my husband's work schedule and older son helped out with the kids. So they placed our nanny with another family to earn more hours. Fine. After a one-off scheduling mishap (that was rectified), I told them that I would again need full-time care around the second-third week in August when school started. I was told to reach out again with a specific date closer to the time needed. So, a few days before school started, I reached out to the lead nanny to let her know when the kids would be starting school. She said to send her the kids schedule, as she had two potential people that would be a good fit. So, a couple of days later, I emailed her the schedule with my needs. Almost a week goes by and I don't hear back from her. I called and left messages, with no response. So, I reached out to the owner via Facebook (I had misplaced her number). I let her know that I haven't heard from the lead and that its been almost a week. She immediately apologized and asked me to send my number and that she would contact me. I sent my number instantly. No call from her. Another day goes by and still no call from her. I messaged her again and asked when I could expect a call from her. She read the message with no reply. Needless to say, it has now been about a month since I have spoken directly to anyone from this company. After doing some digging, I found on social media where they have posted job openings for nannies (which includes my opening)!! So, instead of responding to my messages, or calling me back and saying that they currently do not have anyone, but are actively looking, they choose to completely ignore me. In order to return to work, I was forced to (again) go hunting for a nanny on my own. I am shocked and appalled at the level of complete disregard for me and my family. I can only hope that this company is not leaving other families out to dry (especially after paying them $250 to be such a great support). read more
