Both of my kids have gone here, my son until age 2 and now my daughter, who just started. She's only been there two weeks and has already adjusted so well, which really speaks to how caring and attentive the staff is. The staff retention is incredible (many have been there for decades), and you can tell they genuinely love the kids. They provide nutritious meals, diapers and wipes, and even wash sleep items, which is such a huge help. It's an unassuming place, but I truly can't think of a better spot for your babies. I'm so grateful we chose Forever Young for my daughter's first daycare experience. She has grown and learned so much in her time there. The staff are all really friendly and great at their roles. My daughter has grown really close to many of the staff members because of the extra time and attention they are able to give her because they are always well staffed. Some daycares we toured felt too regimented and stiff and at Forever Young she was able to just be a kid and play. I never worried about her missing a nap or a meal. They always went by her cues. My toddler has attended Forever Young since we moved to Sacramento in April 2025. We absolutely love it. The staff are experienced, kind, and loving--many have been at FY for decades. My toddler comes home with new skills (counting 1-10 at 18 months) and stories about the fun he had with his friends at school (the staff). We are so sad that he will age out of the school at 2 years old, but we already have our next child signed up to start after they are born. The staff at Forever Young make this daycare a truly exceptional place. they are so dedicated, thoughtful and thorough. It's so reassuring to know that your little one is in capable hands, and I have nothing but amazing experiences every time I am there or interacting with a staff member through the app. It says a lot that their staff turnover is so low, most daycare centers for children under 2 have horrible staff turnover, but most of the staff at Forever Young have been there a long time and love what they do. Forever Young is a fantastic childcare center. My child has been coming here and thriving since she was six months old. It's a smaller center, so it's very inviting and the children receive lots of attentive care from dedicated and nurturing staff, many of whom have worked at FY for 20+ years! The toddlers get to spend lots of active time outdoors in a nicely shaded play area which my kid loves. Families and staff get together a few times a year for social events which builds a strong sense of community and fosters fun for everyone! I cannot recommend Forever Young enough to any parent. read more

They're truly the most kind, capable, attentive infant teachers around. The staff helped ease the transition for all of us, and made us feel like our little guy was really being cared for. Also they provide diapers and wipes and wash the crib sheets which doesn't seem that crazy but not having to think about anything other than bringing bottles is was actually pretty incredible. read more

Our baby has been at FY since she was 3 months old and we absolutely made the right choice enrolling her here. The staff is attentive, loving and just good vibes all around. - They have designated parking space for drop off (never a problem for me) - Their staff ratio is 1:4 or 1:3, I can't recall but it's one of those - The teachers are a diverse group of individuals! The ages range from 20s all the way to 60+ - Food (not formula), Diapers and wipes are included with tuition. - All of the babies are so happy when we do drop off and pick up. Forever Young is a very special place for our family. The staff are some of the warmest, kindest, most caring individuals who go above and beyond to ensure each child is cared for and loved. My daughter has been attending Forever Young since she was five months old. I really cannot recommend Forever Young for infant care enough. A friend's child went to FY and recommend it to me. My daughter gets excited when we arrive at daycare in the morning. All of the staff members are caring, loving, and attentive. They greet her each morning with hugs and smiles. We started our child at Forever Young a few months ago and have absolutely loved our experience! The staff members treat him with such love and kindness, and we feel as if we are part of a bigger family. They provide lunch and multiple snacks a day (all home-made, healthy, and vegetarian), allow him to operate him on his own schedule, and give him tons of developmentally-appropriate enrichment. We are so happy we found Forever Young Daycare. Trying to find childcare during a pandemic was a joke. We got heard from another daycare that this place had an opening and enrolled our 14-month-old 3 months ago. It is so warm and friendly, I feel great about leaving my daughter there all day. The staff is relaxed and loving and our daughter really loves it there. She has built a special bond with Carl, her favorite, and sometimes when I pick her up she doesn't want to leave! The baby care here was great and we had a really positive initial experience. Unfortunately this center seems to be going through some growing pains. The director is largely absent and there has been staff turnover. Additionally some of the younger staff have been rude. A few months ago my daughter stopped getting consistent naps, and there was an injury that did not receive an explanation at pickup. The last straw was a few weeks ago. I picked up my baby, who had been sitting in a soiled diaper for over two hours and had diaper rash. Staff hadn't provided breastmilk or both naps. The next day I received a text from a staff member asking if my baby could be entertained with a cell phone. I reached out to the board president, Jacquie Serna, who offered to let us out of our contract and refund us 2 weeks tuition. However, when I picked up my kid's items, the check was significantly less than I was promised. I called Jacquue to ask when I should expect the rest of it and she hung up on me. Overall I am relieved we have left but financially struggling having to piece together last minute childcare. New leadership and a better board President could potentially turn this place around, but it's obvious staff is unhappy and it has been on the decline for awhile. read more

Our little guy has been at FY Center for over a year (he started at 3 months) and it's been a wonderful part of our parenting village. The staff are committed to the FY Center (there's only been one staff turn over over since we started) and they deeply care for the children. They've supported our baby has he learned to roll, crawl, sit, safely go up & down stairs, and become deeply obsessed with "Row Row Row Your Boat". They use a play-based/RIE philosophy. He gets to play outside, do crafts, and sit down with peers for meals and snacks. Enrolling was a little tricky (we had to call and email many times) but now that we're in, I understand that the kids in front of the staff are always the priority. Being a first time mom, I was very nervous about leaving my precious baby with strangers after hearing horror stories from other parents and friends. After receiving a referral from a co-worker/friend to Forever Young we were very blessed to have our little one enrolled. We were quickly accepted into the Forever Young family and have not looked back. Our baby has thrived and has hit all of the expected milestones early with help from the Forever Young teachers. Although there are days where she may not get as long of a nap as we would like (which is developmentally normal), she is always happy and looks forward to spending her days with her teachers and friends. What initially drew us to Forever Young is the very low turn over rate and tenure of teachers. 90% of the teachers have been there over 10 years with the longest tenured teacher there for 39 years! Along with the low turn over and long tenure of teachers, the teachers prepare daily fresh nutritious vegetarian meals and snacks, often times bringing in vegetables and fruits from their own gardens. Since the school is a non-profit and runs with the guidance of a parent board, all decisions are made with both teacher's and children's benefit in mind. Again, we cannot say enough good things about Forever Young and hope we are lucky to have our future children attend. read more

The only thing I can say about the daycare is every day (if the weather is good) I can hear the children playing in the play area and Having fun. My child has been at forever young since she was about 8 months old. One of the biggest things that attracted me to forever young is the lack of turnover in the staff- many of the teachers have been there for 10+ years! They all have years of experience caring for babies and toddlers- I have asked teachers there (on more than one occasion) "is this normal?"- they have all been knowledgeable and kind in their reassurances. More importantly, my toddler likes going to school here- they get excited when we pull up, they hug their teachers, and enjoy playing with their friends. Yes, they come home tired and don't nap as well there - but that's developmentally normal and to be expected at any daycare (I'm tired after being at my job all day too!)! I feel that my kid is well cared for here and would recommend this daycare to anyone who needs to put their little one in daycare. read more

My husband and I heard about this daycare through a friend who had wished that had gotten on the waitlist early enough to send their little one, and we could not be happier. Our now-almost-two year old started here when he was only 3 months old, and we have been nothing but incredibly happy with the staff. He loves going to school every day and we feel safe and happy dropping him off, knowing he will be loved and well cared for. We have been impressed with how seriously the school has taken COVID and they have come up with protocols for drop-off to keep our kids safe. My first child was here from six to 18 months, and we transferred him to a new school that he will be at until he is ready for kinder. Our newest edition is here now and will be here until 18mos as well. Love the teachers, they love the kids, there is no turnover, and mostly everybody has been on staff for many many many years. That tells you something right there! It is a co-op so you need to be prepared to chip in in whatever way you can, and they operate on a shoe-string budget, but they do great things with what they have. Additionally, they are vegetarian, the diapers are included, and they are enforcing a COVID-19 policy, and post when a child has been exposed to any other infectious virus, etc. Cons, and there are always cons, is that the place is too small. But you can't beat the location and they make up for it with the love they give. read more

We have been attending Forever Young for about 6 months now and absolutely love it!! Earlier this year, we were new to Sacramento and needed care for our 16 month old. We called and toured dozens of daycare's only to find they either did not accept children of this age or they did not have availability. After meeting with Selina we were sold! We loved the small family-like feel that Forever Young provided and also the fact that they are an infant center and only accept children under the age of two. These days our daughter simply runs inside and does not hesitate to say goodbye to us at drop-off. She loves all of the teachers and her friends. This is Forever Young's Infant Center for kids who are 6 weeks through 2 years. Our third baby is about to start here and our experience with our other two kids has been tremendous. The Downtown location and big, shady play-yard are great, but - as with the preschool - the real story here is the staff. They are amazing, with endless patience. Many have been in child care for over 20 years and have a kind, common-sense strategy for everything these little ones can throw at them. They really love our kids, and our kids love them too. Most importantly, our children are always happy here. You won't find infant swings, high chairs, bouncy seats, or anything else where kids can be plopped down. The staff are the kinds of people who LOVE to hold babies. And as soon as the kids can walk, they are off to the toddler room and the play-yard where the action is fast and furious. I truly cannot imagine sending our kids anywhere else. This has been such a good experience. read more

I feel so lucky to have found Forever Young for my kids. My husband and I both work full-time, and when I was faced with finding childcare when our son was born, I was terrified. After visiting lots of daycare centers where the children seemed miserable, I visited Forever Young. I knew right away that I could take our son to FY and feel comfortable doing so because the children were content there. That was 3 and half years ago (October 2005), and we now have two children attending Forever Young, a toddler and a preschooler. Because of the care they receive at FY, my children are growing into polite, assertive, independent, and respectful young people. When we drop off our kids at FY in the morning, they are excited and happy to be there. The educarers really care about the kids, and many have been with Forever Young for 10+ years - two of the infant center educarers are going on 24 years each! The staff treat the children with respect and gentleness, and the children are encouraged to develop both physically and mentally at their own pace. I love that my kids eat healthy whole foods while at school because, let's face it, I don't always have the time to offer them whole foods at home. Forever Young is a parent cooperative, and relies upon parent support and participation (in addition to the full-time staff) to keep the center running smoothly. Because of this, the families who attend Forever Young become part of an extended "family," which is an additional benefit for our family. Bottom line: Forever Young has been great for our family, and I highly recommend it! Our son has been attending this day care since he was 3 months old and we're all very happy about it! The staff is really nice, very knowledgeable (some of the members have been there for more than 20 years!) and respectful of your wishes regarding your child's meal, nap routine and so forth. Also, food and diapers are provided which is not always the case. Parents are welcome to stop by anytime during the day (lunch time to nurse for example). My son absolutely loves the people there - staff and mates- and, as parents, we love the cozy atmosphere provided by this day care and the fact that our son is always happy to go there. We love Forever Young and so does our son. The staff here is excellent. We really appreciate how much time they spend interacting with him, make making crafts, reading, singing and encouraging cooperative play with the other kids. Every day we get a report card on his naps, when, what and how much he ate and when he went to the bathroom. I've been part of the Forever Young family since January 2014. My second child at FY just turned 2 and will now be leaving and I am heartbroken. The staff is phenomenal. They are all so caring and wonderful and truly love the children. The daycare is vegetarian and they make the food daily which is great. Steffie, the chef, is very creative with the menu and finds ways to introduce different foods to the children without them realizing they are eating healthy. At home, my son will not eat anything green but at FY I don't think there is a food he won't eat. I love FY and will truly miss seeing everyone on a daily basis. If you are looking for a daycare and are a new parent that is nervous leaving your child with strangers, this place will ease you worries. You can call them to check on your child. Forever Young isn't about a shiny new facility and expensive toys, its' magic lies in the people. The top notch care givers have experience ranging from 6-28 years and their formula is simple they make the children feel loved, happy and secure. Having recently adopted a baby boy, that meant the world to me and my husband. When we first toured the facility we had to look past the older facade and focus on the warm faces and broad smiles greeting the babies. What amazed us was that the babies looked so content and the care givers didn't treat their work like a chore but really appeared to love the kids. This mattered more than any of the other items on my checklist but when you also throw in healthy meals provided each day, flexible hours and free diapers--we were sold. Months later our little tot is as happy as a clam and has deeply bonded with the folks at Forever Young. Fantastic culture here, I love how they focus on social skills with the kids. I returned to work after my daughter was five months old and she thrived at the infant center. I appreciated so many little things, like how they didn't allow shoes in on the carpet because thats where the kids crawled, the Educarers were down on the floor with the children instead of sitting up in chairs, meal time was empowering by letting the children decide when they were full and encouraging manners such as passing food, the culture was fun and respectful of the children (never condescending), I can go on and on. As a parent I also loved how my participation was whatever I wanted to make out of it. Its a parent co-op so as a new and unexperienced mom I only did the min parent hours at first, but over time as things settled down I was allowed to get as involved as I wanted and eventually I even joined the parent Board of Directors. However, I never felt pressured to contribute more than I could reasonably accomodate with my work/life responsibilities. I appreciated the vegetarian menu too, I thought that was so wonderful and healthy even though we aren't vegetarians at home. And safer for the kids! We did have a bit of an adjustment to their no violent role models rule (I sent my daughter with a Darth Vadar backpack once) but once I understood the premise behind it I fully supported the concept while at the childcare. My daughter is a well adjusted 8 year old now and so much of that can be traced back to her experiences at Forever Young. This is a nonprofit, intimate daycare that offers a kind of in-between option to corporate and in-home alternatives. I first heard about Forever Young from my sister, who sent my nephew there 7 years ago. When my husband and I went to tour the facility, I could not believe the number of staff who remembered my nephew, sister, and brother-in-law. I was immediately impressed and knew that a staff that remembers a family so well from so long ago clearly cares about the children and families they serve. I could feel comfortable and confident sending our daughter here. Our daughter has been there 5 months, now. She loves her caregivers, and we love the care that they give! Don't let the facilities fool you; the center is in an older apartment building, but even though they are not as pristine and new as some other places, the care is top notch. Staff feels like family and follows the guidelines that you set. They are knowledgeable, patient and extremely capable. Parents are welcome to visit during the day. There is a separate nap room, infant room, and toddler room to keep those who can walk away from those who can't. Diapers, wipes and food are provided. Our daughter smiles when she arrives, and I always leave knowing she is in great hands. This is a very special place that I highly recommend. read more

.Hello, I'm a manager at forever young and I would like to clear up a misunderstanding there is a review on here from a man saying that his son was snapped by a rat trap and we had rat feces everywhere he has called and confirmed to us that it was the wrong school that he was complaining about but he never got back on the website to correct it so I'm going to correct it the school that the man is talking about with rats and roaches is not forever young child care center on 12th and P in Sacramento California thank you... I've been working at Forever Young for 15 years and I've been in child care for about 25 and I have to say the way we nurture the families not just children but the whole family is a completely different experience from anywhere I've ever worked. there's a reason why we have been open since 1979 and still get referrals from families from 20/30 years ago and have had alumni bring their children. their parents still remember their forever young experience and most likely the same teachers will still be there from over 30 years ago that says a lot. read more
