From start to finish our experience has been exceptional. Magdalena Fernandez our sales associate is knowledgeable, patient, communicative and above all professional and helpful. Meeting her 4 months ago at the Palm Beach Gardens location and making our first purchase with her was a given that we would be back. Last weekend we went to see her and she suggested I send her pictures of my dining room and she would mock it to give us a visual with the different styles we have been looking at. Her ability to create the image was so helpful. Her communication was key with us and we knew we would go back. Today we made another purchase with her help and we couldn't be happier. large purchase for new home... poor service experience once sale was booked ... missing items on first delivery with no update from sales team... difficult to get remaining fixtures delivered - store was very passive in supporting and when we hung one of the fixtures we noticed a defect in the finish - store and manufacture essentially said no warranty once hung. read more

What a disappointment it has been working with you. Ordered a lamp in October. Shipping was delayed till December, then till February, and, then till the end of April. Poor customer service at its finest. Walked in today, 12/30 approx 3 pm. Two people were in the store. one gentleman was waiting on a customer at his desk. The other woman had just wrapped up with a customer at her desk (towards the front of the store) . Not once did either of them acknowledge my presence. i immediately notice the lack of customer service so I looked around. Then I stood and waited for the lady, who was on the phone at this time. Still no acknowledgement of my presence whatsoever. A simple 'hello', or 'be with you in a moment', or at that point, even a 'what do you want' would have been better than the totally disrespect of not acknowledging my presence. i will not be back to say the least. I highly recommend you retrain your staff in the basics of elementary customer service. Would go a long way. read more

Called the Palm Beach Gardens location to order a replacement capacitor for my Minka ceiling fan, since Capital Lighting is an authorized dealer and I have a great experience working with Chris Surrena from that store purchasing over $7000 of lighting. I was told Chris no longer works there and they won't order Minka parts unless I had purchased that fan from them. I questioned their policy since Minka had told me to contact any authorized dealer. I was then transferred, disconnected twice, and on my third attempt sent to voicemail. This was handled so poorly. Maybe after getting the price for the replacement part, I could have decided to buy a new fan and two others so all my fans would match. Needless to say they won't get another dollar from me or any more referrals. I called Minka back who couldn't understand how I was treated and for customer service sent me the part for free. I will certainly buy Minka again, but not from this store. read more

She is/was a consummate professional and was diligent and kind to help me find it and admittedly I was "Blessed" to have gone there. We just moved to West Palm Beach, and my husband and I, were looking on line for pendants for our kitchen. We found Capital Lighting in Palm Beach Gardens. There, we met Andrea, a lighting professional. I came with photos, she measured everything out, and we selected the most gorgeous crystal pendants. She told us exactly the size we could/should use and how many. Last week the electrician installed them, and when I walked from the living room to the kitchen, I gasped at the sight of them! By far the worst customer service in the world. Walked into the store and salespeople just look without anyone greeting us. We walked around for over 30 minutes while salespeople passed us by and did not offer to assist us. These people just sit at their little desks and talk on the phone. Quick update -- Ken L (the owner) responded to my original review via his hired company who manages his Yelp responses, saying that someone from store management would be in contact. A full 3 days later, no one has contacted me. My husband called Capitol Lighting yet again today and was told the lighting still has not shipped. They refuse to provide any reasons and keep blaming the manufacturer but without any apology or empathy whatsoever. We will be moving into a house this week with no lights. Fun. But hey, I LOVE camping, and apparently that's what we'll be doing thanks to Capitol Lighting. No management response = they do not care. Stay away from Capitol Lighting. read more

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. After promising for months to help with my lighting needs (recessed under-cabinet lighting), the salesperson and store manager have not returned multiple (very polite) voicemail and email messages. I have given them every benefit of the doubt and have not been rude or pushy. My project is not complex but would be a nice $ amount for them. If they are too busy to handle it, all they needed to do was tell me. Instead, they've ghosted me and left me with a large renovation project that is stalled because none of the lighting fixtures have been ordered. read more

Went there with my wife to purchase 4 wall lights and 10 post/dock lights. Spoke to a woman there about a particular style I showed her off the website that was not in the store. She took all my info and I wanted to order which would have been almost $2,000 She never called me back and its been at least a month ago. Very poor customer service. Staff is extremely helpful even thought I made an on-line purchase. I purchased a fixture from 1-800-lighting.com which is a subsidiary of Capital Lighting. Huge mistake ordering on line, Once order was placed there was no customer service. E-mails went unanswered, and shipping dates where promised but never delivered. Completely frustrated with the lack of Customer Service I was receiving from 1-800 I decided to stop into my local Palm Beach Gardens Capital Lighting store. WOW! what a difference. The store staff could not have been more helpful. I interacted with a few staff members in the store all very helpful but, Andrea, stood out. She went well beyond the help I thought I would get since the order was not actually theirs. She followed up with the manufacturer and contacted me on a regular basis to provide updates regarding delivery. I am happy to say I finally received the fixture probably due to the intervention of the store staff. Don't buy on line if you can help it, call or go to the Palm Beach Gardens store. Unfortunately, I have to respond on this page rating our customer service a ZERO. Originally, we purchased $3,500 with of ceiling fans and an outdoor light for our front door. Order was processed and everything went smooth. The issue began when the outdoor light glass enclosure broke. I called our the sales associate we dealt with originally to see if she could order us a replacement which we would gladly pay for of course. She said no problem and would get on it. That was almost two months ago, multiple voice messages left and several emails to her with zero response. I even went to the store to see if I could catch her to no avail. There is nothing that incenses me more than poor customer service, especially when you spent a fair amount of money and expect at least the courtesy of a reply. I would not recommend Capitol Lighting. The follow up, we were going to purchase some indoor lighting but that will now be spent with a competitor. read more

I ordered some fans that I should have received within 5 days. Its been 10 days now and I called the store to learn that they are on back order and will ship in 3 months from the operator. When she went to transfer the call to my sales person I got her answering machine yet again. Nobody called me from the store to tell me the fans where on back order. we bought a light fixture and after 8 years it started to crack by itself so we went to the store to try to get some info on the company who made it, they don't have anything on their computer because they change their database 5 years ago and the invoice doesn't mention the brand or model number. If i want a cheap light that will fall apart after a few years, I'll go to home depot, this store did not help with our problem and they don't stand behind their product. Also taught the saleslady were a bit snob, you have a better chance to get service if you wear a rolex. I would never go back again read more

We had shopped for a light online and in local stores (Hartford, CT area) and found nothing that really worked for us. While on vacation in Florida, we happened to see the Capital Lighting Store. From the moment we walked in, Dawn, store manager, greeted and treated us wonderfully. It began with a cup of coffee and ended with the PERFECT light. Dawn assured us that if we did not like it after all, we could ship it back with no problem and that it would be picked up at our door so no hassle for us. We had a great experience with the Capitol Lighting PBG store. We walked in looking for a floor lamp in bronze or brown. We spoke to Linda S(luckily) who showed us how we could find a floor lamp from the models of the wall fixtures and pointed out the Honey Gold color. We ended up buying a G Kovacs floor lamp on a Friday(she very patiently and expertly showed us the pictures on her Monitor) and we received it on Tuesday. It is perfect! read more

I have to say and I don't usually look too or comment about people but they are both top notch! there was even a gentleman there forgot his names but was extremely friendly. Connie knows her product very well, super attentive, I like that, engages, did not try to push the most expensive, rather get a good feel for what we wanted, knows her stuff and really made me feel comfortable, an example of going out of her way, I said the last fixture I bought from you I did not like putting it all together, immediately she said no problem, this time it will be delivered to the store and your electrician will put together for me. I mean right on top of everything. Now Helena made my wife feel at home, She is the our Greek mama! My wife is 7 months pregnant, she literally gave up her chair and put her feet up on another. what a great person in general, my wife liked her so much she spent an hour talking even after our purchase. she asked me if I wanted coffee, water, very warm and very gracious. great great crew there.
