Lesson learned.... I brought in a floor lamp for repair in late January and was told it was likely a simple fix and would be completed in a week. Over the next several weeks, I made multiple attempts to inquire on its status (by phone, via e-mail and in person), what I got in return were excuses and attitude. Nine weeks after dropping off the lamp for repair, I picked it up, not knowing when I'd see it again. I'm happy to report my lamp is now fixed, thanks to a $20 part from Amazon and two hours of work from a handyman. By the way, I shared this story with a neighbor, who shook her head in agreement, as she had a similar experience with a repair at Heath & Company a year ago. Shame on me for going to Heath & Company. Shame on them for providing terrible customer service. read more

I have used heath lighting for repairs to chandeliers, lamps & buying lampshades & they have been professional & extremely helpful

this was one of my favorite stores until this week. I had house guests who are decorating thier new home and I took her in for some lamps. she bought 2 lamps and a chandelier and had to order the lampshades. there was a discussion about drop shipping the lampshade and talk of a charge, but she wasn't charged for it. She went back to New England and got an email from the owner saying there was a $25 shipping charge which she was fine with, but asked why she hadn't been charged that at the time of sale. She called the store and asked the owner about the charge, and out of the blue the owner told her she was canceling the order all together. I don;'t know if a reason was given, but I do know that my friend is one of the sweetest people I know and would never get rude or angry. So now my friend is stuck with lamps that she has no shades for and there isn't a big choice where she lives in New England. Suffice it to say, I will never set foot in this store again or recommend it to anyone. read more

A great location in a little cluster of unique antique stores. This store is THE place to go to for lighting. There is a huge selection, and everything is so packed it is hard to see everything in just one visit. The prices are reasonable for the design and quality of the fixtures. The fact that they offer repair and custom services is a unique touch from the lost days of specialty shops in my opinion. There are no specific styles here and a variety of functional lighting options so anyone and everyone is able to find something here. (Except for that Ron guy in a previous review..I don't know what his deal is though.) But here is to real people. Real reviews. read more

I love this shop! They have an exhaustive selection of shades, finials and merchandise. If you want an object made into a lamp, they can do that. If you have a light that needs rewiring, they can do that. If you have seen a lamp somewhere and have a photo of it they can probably find the vendor and order it for you. There is a reason all the designers are parked in front of the shop. Old lights, antiques, smalls and odd things that have found a place in the shop always make it a great place to check out. STAY AWAY! THEY WILL BURN YOU! A couple of months ago I ordered a custom lamp shade from Heath and Company; nothing exotic, I just wanted a specific size and color (black exterior/silver inside). Because lamp shades are their core business, I actually expected them to have what I wanted in stock. Because it was a special order they required a deposit up front, more accurately they demanded that I pay the full purchase price at the time of the order. That of course meant they recouped their full cost right away, and also immediately received their full profit. It also meant that I had no leverage with them should future problems develop, which they did. They did say that it would be four weeks before the shade would arrive. After not hearing from them after four weeks, I called to check and was curtly told that sometimes deliveries could be up to five or six weeks. There was no effort to look up my order or track it's specific procurement status. After the fifth week I called again, and was told that it still hadn't arrived. During that call when I inquired were the shade was shipping from, I was beyond amazed to hear that it was being manufactured just down the road in Miami! I then asked that they call their supplier, verify that it would in fact ship within the following (sixth) week, and call me back to confirm that fact. They did not bother to do this. Finally in the beginning of week seven they called to say that the shade was in and could be picked up, which I did the following day. I brought the shade home and immediately installed it on my (floor) lamp. The workmanship looked outstanding, my color choices just what I had hoped for, and I was happy at long last. But, after sitting in my living room and looking at the shade throughout the following day, it began to occur to me that the shade looked smaller then the one it replaced, which had already been discarded. So, after measuring it's actual sizes and comparing them with their written order, it confirmed that all dimensions (top and bottom diameters and height) were 1/2 to a full inch less then had been specified. Although I really didn't want to wait another seven weeks for a replacement, I called Heath and Company to inform them of the discrepancies. The person I spoke with said that they would refer the problem to the owner, Alan, who would get back to me to work out a solution. And, here I sit a week and a half later, still awaiting his call. A HUGE "F" FOR HEATH AND COMPANY! THEY FAIL AT CUSTOMER SERVICE, AT EFFECTIVE AND EMPATHETIC COMMUNICATIONS WITH THEIR CLIENTS, AND IN ANY MANNER OF ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES. read more

Drove up to West Palm Beach from Boynton based on great ratings this business received. They couldn't have been nicer, fixed my mother-in-law's lamp for a very reasonable price, and threw in a new bulb for free. Highly recommend. read more

I have been purchasing Lampshades and Lamps from this store for years. I have always found that they go out of their way to satisfy me and take care of my needs. Any problem that I have ever had (and there are not many) has been taken care of immediately. I read Ron H review and I can't imagine it being accurate. All stores require payment up front for special orders. If what you wanted was popular, they would stock it. Why do they want to be stuck with your special order if you don't show up to get and pay for it. Special orders take time regardless of where it is being made. Every special order shade they have made for me, I am told 4-6 weeks. Maybe you only heard the 4 week part. I usually find that the less I annoy people the more likely they are to help me. Maybe calling constantly is not the best thing to do. read more

How did I not know about this jewel box ? Just purchased a home. Working with a wonderful designer . She brought me here to find shades for lamps purchased elsewhere. They have a HUGE inventory. They have a place for us to try new shades on lamps. They have a knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, professional staff that can assist. They do not rush you into purchasing. We ended up with 6 amazing shades, ordered two specialty shades and purchased new hardware. In addition we found sconces and lanterns that I am picking up today! So unique, so beautiful. The worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. When I dropped my lamp off for repair, they said the repair person wasn't there... but told me they had to put a number on the invoice until they had an idea what was wrong, so they put $52. I was told they would call me to let me know if the dimmer on my lamp was fixable or not. A little over a week went by without hearing from them.. and got a call saying my lamp was ready, and they installed a switch. They then told me that since my slip didn't say "QUOTE", I had to pay $52. On top of that, they put an old crappy push switch on my lamp, and didn't save me any of the parts that were switched out. I was treated as a joke while I was there & definitely not as a valued customer. Would not recommend this place at all! read more

I recently brought in a broken swing arm floor lamp. I thought it would be an impossible fix. I was assured they would try to fix it. They not only fixed it, it's better than new. They have an excellent array of lamps and lamp shades in the shop and can custom order other sizes and shapes as well. Their lamp repair service is excellent. They have repaired several lamps for me over the years and they did a great job and the wait time was not very long. I tried a couple of their competitors including one close to Heath and I found them quite inferior. read more
