I have been so nervous to go to the dentist after having traumatizing experiences at several other places locally 3-5 years ago. I was referred to Dr.Ortega at Capital Dental and could not be more happy about that! In my first visit, I let the hygienist know that I have anxiety about the dentist and they made me feel so safe and have since gone above and beyond to make sure that I felt supported by their staff. I don't feel scared to go there! And that feels like a first. They also have very advanced tech in their office...I just received my first crown: they prepped the tooth, took digital 3D imaging of the tooth, 3D printed the porcelain mold, it was fit into my mouth to perfection, fired in a special porcelain oven and then popped in there and I was done! And currently it's the morning after and my bite feels perfect & I only have some jaw tenderness from the nova Caine injections (which they had to give me a ton of because I'm a red head and it often doesn't work for me). I had a little dental emergency; intense toothache, and heading to Japan in a few days. How am I supposed to gorge myself on sushi if I can't put any pressure on my tooth?! My regular dentist was out sick, so I was scrambling. When I called Capitola Dental, the lady on the phone listened to my story and said, "we're going to help you - just give me a couple of minutes". I don't know what happened next, but I imagined something like a Rocky montage. She came back on the phone and said she'd fit me in that afternoon. Every person I encountered during my visit that day was fabulous. The dentist did a great job of explaining everything to me and coming up with a plan that would having me stuffing my face with Sushi like a champ. I've never felt so comfortable in a dental office. You go to the doctor and expect healing, the Dentist, pain! Well at Capitola Dental, it was beyond believing. For my 1st visit I was welcomed graciously and sincerely, efficiently, asked the primary questions for a first visit, then swept down the path of the most gracious any caring path, to who I was and what I was all about. My appointment went with out a hitch with all the appropriate questions for a "new be" all thorough, pertinent, and excellent without my Feeling it being invasive! I have been going to this Dental establishment for quite some years now. They are beyond excellent. Today I had my teeth cleaned by Brynn who was super informative and sincerely interested in the well being of my teeth. She was thorough and efficient. The whole crew is awesome, always friendly, giving you the feeling that you are going to be comfortable and well taken care of. Both Dentists are excellent. The receptionist, Dacia, is absolutely, positively the most amazing, organized, no-nonsense, on the spot, running the show awesomeness receptionist I have ever encountered. I visited Capitola Dental today for the first time. The staff was very professional and kind, the exam was very thorough and high tech. They are staying with their industry trends it looks like and the Dentist, Dr Vadatti, was gentle and thorough. Both the dentist and the staff explained everything to me, what was happening in my mouth to treatments recommended. They made sure I would not be surprised with anything on my future visits. The best part was getting my teeth cleaned. The dental hygienist was very nice and thorough with her cleaning. Her name is Lisa and I would recommend her to everyone. Capitola dental is awesome. Dr Ortega is an outstanding dentist & the whole staff are great from Daisha at the front desk to Christa Dr O's assistant & Mari dental hygienist, who did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. All of the hygienists are great & make getting your teeth cleaned a pleasant experience, instead of a fist clenching trauma, I actually relax. The office is clean & the efficiency of all the staff contribute to a great experience. A big plus is that they have a lab on the premises so that crowns are made & installed during your visit, no returning 2 weeks later . I find that to be a real benefit ! I've been going to Capitola Dental for years and have had a great experience from beginning to end. The front office staff is efficient and Doctor Bob and the hygienists are top notch. I've never waited for an appointment to start, although with the big TV in their wait room I wouldn't mind. They did a great hob on my crown. I can hardly see the difference between my real feet high and the crown and even better, it was all done in house in a time efficient manner while I waited. Awesome visit. great staff, super friendly, Kind and Knowledgeable! my visit started with a cleaning by one of the best Hygienist's in the county ( Lisa Galli ) then to Doctor Ortega who I had previously scheduled for a crown prep. No Pain, super attentive and beautiful work! Dr. Ortega's assistant Alisis was unbelievable! she cast a temporary crown that fit perfect! I am a long term patient of Capitola Dental, I had my wisdom teeth removed by the founder, Dr. Schellentrager back in the mid 1970's, I'm now in my mid 70's and was concerned when Dr. Ortega & the new team acquired the practice.
