Dr Chinnam has taken over my longtime dentist, Dr Shively's practice since he retired this year and unfortunately does not offer the same high level of care. My first cleaning appointment at Dr Chinnam's office rushed me through a cleaning and polish in what felt like about the same amount of time it takes to brush your teeth at home. Also they were running almost 20 minutes late for a 9am appointment... Seriously not acceptable Level of care. If you're taking over a career dentist's practice and plan to shorten the appointments and drastically raise prices for a basic cleaning, you should probably send out a detailed notice to longtime patients. read more

Doctor (and I'm using that term very loosely here) Chinnam is an absolutely atrocious dentist. She did a root canal on me that THREE dentists have reviewed and been absolutely horrified by. They asked if I had it done in a foreign country. They said the type of root canal she did on me is not taught nor accepted in the US, and only used very rarely on an emergency/temporary basis. The dentist with over 5 decades of experience said her technique was wildly insufficient, not used in the US, and specifically, had a "short and inadequate cleaning, shaping and filling of each of the roots root canals." Still considering going to her? I didn't know she botched my root canal until it failed years before it should have, and then the tooth cracked off, costing me over $6K for extraction, an implant, and all that goes with those super fun things. But there's more! She also completely botched the composite filling the gap between my front teeth, and I have a nice big smile, so my front teeth are important, especially in my line of work. I knew from my previous amazing dentist, the one she bought the practice from, that my teeth are naturally extremely white and a special extra white color needed to be ordered to re-do my composites. I told her beforehand that it was noted in my chart and asked her to order the correct color. Unbeknownst to me, she ignored my request and used whatever she deemed appropriate, and it turns out she didn't know how to do composites, so she screwed them up and I had to come back for her to re-do them with the right color to match my natural teeth, and do a proper job, which she screwed up again. When I was leaving this supposedly trained dentist said to me "I learned on you!" She said it with a smile on her face like she was happy about it. I was livid, as my teeth were still screwed up. When I asked for a refund so I could go find a real dentist to re-do them, she said no. Miraculously, when I threatened to sue her, I had my refund the next day. Another thing that really upset me was one day I came in for a cleaning, and as I walked past her, in the very open office setting where everyone can hear everything, she yelled out my name and made an insulting comment about my weight. WTF? She clearly did not study in this country based on her skills (or lack there of), and she also did not bother to learn our customs and what may and may not be offensive to people in general and her patients specifically. The great hygienists that worked for the practice when she bought it left, and the office manager comes off as nice, but she is so loyal she'll throw herself on a grenade defending this "dentist" who should not be allowed to practice in this country until she's trained in modern US dentistry. She will straight up lie to your face. Don't trust your precious teeth, nor those of anyone in your family with this very destructive woman. I'd give her negative stars if possible. I took the super close up photo below while sitting in her parking lot on Park Ave after she supposedly "fixed" the composite on my front teeth for the 2nd time. The other was taken after a good, well trained dentist who knew what he was doing and didn't use me as his lab rat fixed her 2 time screw up. My husband used to go here, and thankfully he doesn't anymore. The dentist doesn't consult and provide long term solution to my husband's needs. When I converted him to my dentist, we were given consultative options to fix the dental concerns. Most importantly, we are sent a bill for a service that the billing team cannot even sufficiently provide proof of service. Dr. Chrinnam's office is too busy to provide timely care or even a modicum of decent customer service to her patients. I missed an appointment and was added to a waiting list. Little did I know that the way they manage their wait-list is to text blast everyone, and the first to respond gets the opening- in this case, there were 80 patients on the list. What's wrong with this picture? I've been waiting since the end of October. Given this system, someone who just missed an appointment yesterday could take the opening. There is ZERO consideration given to how long you have been waiting. Basically, it's a game show- whoever hits the buzzer first wins. And why do they have 80 patients waiting anyway? They are clearly over booked and under staffed, and they're Hunger-Games style lottery favors she who is attached to her phone, rather than serving she who has been waiting the longest. I can't imagine what they're process is if you actually have an emergency or urgent need. You probably have to lineup early like a Black Friday sale and fight for that hot item. This is VERY unprofessional and caters to the workload of the staff, rather than considering the needs of the patient. read more

I am visiting from out of town and broke a front tooth! It's not a good time for that type of thing but certainly not with Graduations and the parties that go along with them. I called Dr. Chinnam's office yesterday and talked with DeAnna, who by the way is so pleasant. I was able to get in the next morning. This office is amazing. They are all so kind and professional. Dr. Chinnam was able to put on a permanent crown the very same day. If I lived here she would be my dentist. I had no pain and she asked me quite often if I was still numb. She is top notch as well as the staff. So happy that she was recommended and that I went to her and now can go to Graduation parties and smile as big as I want =) read more

This dentist is all heart! I needed brackets removed and in a hurry, and noone else would do it anytime soon, nor for a reasonable price. I literally bought the tool on Amazon and was going to try it myself, and I probably would have lost a couple teeth in the process. But then I found Dr. Chinnam. She heard my situation and made it happen. Not only did she do a great job, the people and space there are very comforting. There's a certain kindness there you just don't see everyday. This is without a doubt the best dentist I have ever seen. When I was younger I was terrified of the dentist and had nothing but horrible experiences. Dr.Chinnam and her staff were nothing but welcoming and gentle. I have been helped by Shawna, one of the hygienists, several times. By now I've gotten comfortable with her inside my mouth poking around. Before I leave Shawna and Dr.Chinnam are sure to make sure I got all my questions answered, took care of the reason for coming in, and they're always sure to offer several dates and times for me to come back in. Also the woman who does their billing and such is a dream to work with. I didn't even have my insurance card and she was able to look up all my info and even got my deductible taken care of for my regular cleaning. I have been so happy with this dentist that I made an appointment for my fiancé. He now loves Dr.Chinnam as much as I do and he's had much more experiences with dentist than I have. I've been to Dr. Chinnam's office twice - once was a new patient visit & complete digital X-rays, and today I had two molars re-done (one was cracked, one had a cavity). It was a three-hour visit, but I left with permanent crowns - and don't need to return to finish the work. During both visits I was totally impressed with the friendliness of the staff and Dr. Chinnam's warmth and professionalism. I'm an active 80-year-old with LOTS of dental work in my mouth, and I can say this is my best dental experience yet. The technology used was up-to-date and Dr. Chinnam's work was both gentle and thorough. Strangely, I actually look forward to my next dental appointment, which will be for a cleaning. read more

My experience at this dental office was probably the worst experience of my life. I consulted Dr. Chinnam for rebuilding a chipped molar, and she agreed to repair it with a composite build up. She didn't tell me at the time, but she had one her "associate" dentists actually do the work, and I didn't even know her name. I had this same build up done 20 years ago, perfectly, within 20 minutes, for chipped corner of one molar. IMHO, this associate dentist did an absolutely atrocious and botched job, taking over 2 hours. All the while, she kept saying she needed to "experiment", and in my opinion, had the skills and competence of a bricklayer. She kept redoing the buildup over and over. I had 3 good cusps on this molar, and she somehow managed to grind down one of good and natural ones remaining on the inside wall of the tooth, which I will now have to somehow fix. She said she needed to grind down the inside wall of this tooth because of my bite, but she later she "discovered" my bite hit the middle of this molar, not the inside wall, only too late, after she unnecessarily grinded down one the 3 good and natural cusps on this molar, certainly not what I needed - to lose more of my natural tooth. The result is that the inside wall of this molar is unnecessarily much too low, again with one natural cusps needlessly grinded down because this dentist grossly misjudged where the upper teeth hit this molar. All the while, she kept acting confused and complaining that she didn't know how to proceed except "experiment", and all the while kept trying to sell me a crown. I will now have to go to another dentist to redo this botched build up, after over 2 hours of sheer torture. I felt like I was dealing with someone with almost no dental skills, with no idea of what she was doing. Folks, please stay away from what I feel is a very incompetent dental office, and what I experienced was absolutely a nightmare, which I will now have to somehow repair with another dentist. Going to this dental office of one of my biggest dental regrets. All these comments are just my humble opinion. She takes meticulous care of me. She's always considerate. She works really hard to avoid anything that might be sensitive. Finally, I offer the highest praise possible to Dr.Chinnam. Id give 0 stars if that were an option!! The teeth cleaning person was very good. The dr however was not! She refused to believe me that I had gotten an infection after the procedure, even though there was puss and blood around multiple teeth. My mother had to call to convince them that I had an infection (I'm 38 years old so that in itself is totally ridiculous) The dr said she'd call in a rx antibiotic after my mother begged them. They did not call it in like they said and then were closed the next day, for 10 days. I had to go to the ER where they confirmed YES, big infection! I highly recommend NOT going here. read more

They rescheduled my appointment three times because they can't get their calendar straight, rescheduled my son twice and when I showed up for my appointment today they told me that I was scheduled for Monday and that somebody should've called me.
