I had such a lovely experience at Cappuccino Grand Café. The atmosphere is upscale yet relaxed, perfect for a morning coffee or a leisurely afternoon meal. Great outdoor seating area for people watching and views. The indoor area is cute as well. This is a very popular spot for university students in Madrid. I had an iced chai latte that was very good but a bit pricey for what it was. We also had the truffle fries which were fine. I would come back for the ambiance and views not the coffee and snacks. read more

One last review from Spain. Excited to eat brunch before the red bus take us on tour of the city and I see Cappucino Grand Cafe. After waiting 15 mins to be greeted and helped, I was already irritated. We were ignored by the waitresses and waiters. Our waiter comes by with a rest bitching face aka non smiling annoyed gesture. Takes our order and never came back to check on us. 15 mins later our food arrives by another waitress and leaves. Again no one comes by to check on us and we wanted refills on juice and coffee. It wasnt till I waved her down speaking loudly excuse me. Food was bland and service was a bust. DEAR MANAGER, please have your staff properly trained in customer service. So my husband and I really wanted a more authentic meal from Spain. We really couldn't find anything so we decided to stop at this place. We both had Italian cappuccinos which were very good. I had a very berry yogurt bowl that was perfect. Had strawberries, blueberries raspberries And blackberries. My husband had a club sandwich and it was pretty tasty. Be prepared to wait a little bit and also wait for your bill. But when you're on vacation, you shouldn't care. read more

Great views / outside seating. Perfect for people watching and taking in some of the sites of Madrid! However, I was disappointed in the food. I ordered avocado toast and it was just not good (which is hard to mess up) there was just no seasoning on it at all and the poached egg was over cooked. We found this place while randomly walking back to our hotel. We were starving at 8:05pm and there were few restaurants open. It was crowded with tourists and locals with kids. The fish and chips was eh. It was so beautifully presented in a metal cone, so when I saw another patron receive it, I had to try. The fish was really fishy and the batter wasn't quite cooked in the middle. Fries were good - of course, when are fries not good? Despite the overabundance of service staff and managers walking around, service was eh, too. Our cocktails arrived AFTER our meal. They never brought the appetizer. read more

I was here on a lovely day - sunny, breezy and warm but not too warm. The outdoor seating with a few heaters and glass wind shields was a perfect setting. It was busy but there seemed to always be an open table. The waiters were also busy but provided adequate friendly service. They have a nice drink menu - a particularly fine selection of gin which can be had with tonic. I ordered Pan de Cristal Con Jamon Di Parma which was excellent. The thin crispy bread was very good and did not overwhelm the excellent Parma ham topping. I also had the California Club - a safe but tasty selection. I came here after a long flight and was never rushed as I ate, drank and slowed down enjoying the lovely views and bustling atmosphere of Sunday in Madrid. If you want food at a non-traditional time, it is nice that thy serve food throughout their open hours. read more

It was late Sunday night and everything around was closed, so we stopped by this place on a way to Ramses lounge. Cappucino Cafe looks classy and (overpriced) menu is somewhat interesting, but our experience was disappointing. There were only few people inside but the waiters seemed to have been super busy running around, stressed about something. The food -- 2 salads and cold appetizer -- took about 45 minutes to come. This was not "rush hour", mind you. Salmon salad was good -- fresh, tasty, with pretty pleasant tataki sauce. Ceasar salad, on the other hand, was drenched in sauce to the point where it spoiled the whole dish. Beef carpaccio wasn't bad but nothing special either. read more

This café/restaurant has a great outdoor seating area with an awesome view of the Puerta de Alcala, and I feel a little guilty reviewing this place because I didn't have a chance to eat anything there except a couple of desserts. Having been attracted to it because it was called a café and we were craving some caffeine, I can tell you that I really enjoyed that aspect of it, and I had to go back for more. They serve cocktails and food as well, and if I go to Madrid again I'll make it a point to explore those options, but for now I can only rate this place based on my more limited experience of it; as far as service goes, it was good, and there was nothing to complain about there. They had several interesting coffee drinks, though I should warn you about the one that includes amaretto: you would think that it would be in your coffee drink but it isn't, it's given to you in a generous serving in a snifter on the side. But my favorite thing there and what made me come back for more was the café diablo, which was a non-alcoholic drink made of half coffee and half chocolate--it was awesome. I'd also like to mention that the banana toffee pie they offered there was one of the best things I ate during my entire vacation. Should I be fortunate enough to make my way over to Madrid again, I'll definitely stop by at least once. read more

My friends and I really like this place because of the European street cafe. Excellent service, food was really delicious and they even have blankets for the freezing Madrid winter weather(we're from LA). It was a way better experience than overpriced Ramses next door and it's super close to our friends place. We tried the Thai curry, beef stroganoff and I think it was a sea bass dish and they were all perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had cognac, white wine and something else, lol it was that good atmosphere wise. read more

This place was very nice and classy. My boyfriend and I got two desserts, a pie and a cheesecake. The cheesecake was heavenly, thick and creamy while the pie was thin yet filling. The babychino is a sweeter cappuccino with whip cream and sprinkles but still very good and he got a cocktail which has bursts of different flavours. I would recommend people here for a nice fancy coffee break because it is a little pricey. Ours and to 27 euros for all four items. read more

My husband and I stopped by to have some coffee and desert. He had a macchiato and I had a café con leche and a slice of cheese cake with fresh fruit. It was all amazing, we came back the next day to have dinner which once again we were not disappointed. We both had their pumpkin carrot soup served with warm toasted bread and salads. I had a cesar salad and my husband had a Mediterranean salad. Once again we were not disappointed, we also enjoyed the house white wine which I loved, very light and great with our meal. Service was great and the servers always had a smile. Definitely on my list of places to come back. Restaurant is right next to La puerta de Alcalá which has a lovely view. read more
