I had a fabulous day today! I had toner, a cut, and a gel mani and pedi. My student was a level 1 and amazing! The teachers who supervised were friendly and I could tell they really care about their students. The floor had great energy and I saw the student stylists helping each other out. Been there twice, first highlight lasted less than a week. Second time I asked for partial low lights, I came out with dark strawberry brown hair, charge was $67 + tip, lasted 2 1/2 weeks, this was a permanent color. Won't go back. read more

I haven't had a permanent in my hair for many years. I decided to go to the school because there are teachers that supervise so what could go wrong. The teacher was there for the rolling(popped in a couple times) But I believe the big fail was in the solution and the rinsing of the developer. I have zero curl and lots of damage. read more

First and foremost, I must tell you that I am extremely fussy about my hair. If I ever do receive a bad cut from someone, I never ever go back to them. I have never been to a "school" to get my haircut. Usually I go to a Stylist, and one that I have been going to for years..... but she was "out of commission" and I was desperate!! Since I do know someone attending Capri in New Lenox, I decided to give them a try. And I am glad I did!! As a man, I found this place to be a great source for anyone that needs a haircut. I didn't feel "out of place" and the young people there seem to be conscientious about doing hair. Jessica Testa did my hair and even though I was a teeny-weeny bit apprehensive (after all she is learning) she did a great job.... just as good as many of the stylists I have been to before at other Salons. The Instructors were excellent, with me as well as with her. Overall I had a great experience. The place was clean and I didn't find it overly loud.... just an average noise level. Made an appointment for the morning of March 14th. I called on the 12th to set up my appointment, provided my name as well as my contact info. I understand they had to close due to COVID-19 but I was unaware, I showed up at 9:30 for my appointment only to be told that they were closing and that I SHOULD HAVE checked their website. The supervisors are very professional and helpful to the students. I have had my hair cut, eyebrows waxed and my toes polished at Capri Beauty School. The supervised students are always very polite, friendly and conscientious. Can't beat the price. The pedicure tubs are cleaned after each customer. Yay! read more

The Good, they are nice people. Unfortunately that has nothing to do with the service I received for my manicure and pedicure. I requested a manicure and pedicure and the student did my pedicure first. The bowl that you put you feet in was FILTHY and when I told her about it she didn't sanitize it but instead used a towel to try and get ALL OF THE HAIR out of the bowl! (Why is there long hair in a PEDICURE BOWL?!) Then she attempted to use the same towel to put my feet on. The polish on my feet clumped up, and she didn't file my toes at all. So the pedicure was a complete disaster. The manicure was a bit better until she dropped the brush and again did not CLEAN IT. Also I asked for a sticker and it was put on backwards. This young lady should not be doing anyone's mani's or pedi's even if it is for free. I spoke to one of the instructor's after I'd walked out and she offered to have the pedi done over but I was too disgusted to give the student another try. It would be helpful if the instructors walked around and reviewed the student's work after they finished so that they could see immediately what went wrong or right and the customer could immediately express their concerns. The dental school at Prairie State College used this method and it helped to provide the customer with excellent non-confrontational service. Sadly I have to say this is NOT the place to come to for mani's and pedi's. Even at a discount it isn't worth it. I had to come home and remove the polish on both my hands and feet and redo them myself. I should have gotten a refund. read more

This is a cosmetology school where students learn their craft. Students give the haircut at a reduced price with instructor supervision. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is across from the high school at schoolhouse and rout 30. I didn't have an appointment but didn't have to wait. The school was hopping the Saturday i went with lots of Prom hair being done. Looks like a professional full service salon. Will definitely return. read more

WELL! I walked in at 1:50pm on a Friday afternoon, wanting a cut & color. I asked how much would it cost... The young lady at the counter handed me a brochure for their pricing and their hours. She asked me when I wanted to come in and get it done, and I said, well I'm standing here right now. I would like to have it done now. She said, the students stop doing color services at noon on Saturday! We close at 4:30. Do you mean to tell me that they cannot do a cut and color in a 4/2 hour time frame??! Very snotty. Ridiculous. Then, another young lady makes a comment, Do you when you want to come back? How about this: Ill take my business somewhere else. You just lost $100 of services. read more

I trust noone with my hair, except for the very talented students and instructors at capri. I live in Texas and will plan a trip back to my home state just to get my hair done. Not only are the prices incredibly inexpensive, the students are professional and eager to do a good job. The thing that keeps me as a loyal customer is the wonderful instruction and oversight that takes place as I enjoy my service. Always amazing service when I come to Capri. Marcella is a current student learning at Capri who has done my three color appointments I have had done there and has done a great job every time. She definitely works as quickly as possible while paying attention to detail and your request. after having an unpleasant first visit when the instructor working with my stylist basically insulted my hair color, i decided to try again because i just needed a toner & quick trim. i walked in at 1:30 on a tuesday & was rudely turned away because "color services are done for the day" , i understand if i had a more difficult request, but i don't understand why a 15 minute service could not be completed in the 4 hours remaining until the school closed. they sure don't teach good customer service there. read more

First time here and LAST time too! These people are so RUDE! first they tell you to have a seat in waiting area which there are no seats because they are covered in coats obviously we weren't the only ones who were not informed of the coat rack. The student stylist and instructors were not very friendly either. Seriously suggest you teach customer service as part of the ciriculum. For your information I was rhe one paying for the service cor my elderly mother who has a difficult time relaying what she wanted for her hair and was more comfortable with me at least where I could see her in addition I was interested in the service and had considered trying out the school for services. We would have gladly hung our coats up if someone had directed us to where the coat rack was located it was the fact that no ome as so much cracked a smile or a friendly welcome. Not a warm and friendly kind place where you offer personal services a pet peeve of mine. In fact my mom Was unhappy with the service she received the stylist put way too much product on her hair and it took 45 min under the dryer to dry hair that was barely an inch long then when she was finally dry the stylist barely brushes out the set and she still had roller marks had to come home and re do it. I get my hair cut here all the time. The students are well trained and the instructors are standing by during hair cuts! Anytime a student is unsure, the instructor is there to assist and to instill confidence in the students. The atmosphere is fun and laid back- I never felt that I am in a school- I highly recommend this place- Hair cuts are priced right too!! read more
