I am having a wonderful experience learning about becoming an electrician at capstone college and gaining the skills necessary to become successful in the field I'm in initially I was nervous because all the material is was new to me and I was worried about how well I can remember the material on the job, the teachers who have helped me throughout this journey have been Jack McCarty and Micheal Fonseca they have helped me greatly in helping me memorize the material as well as giving me the confidence to complete class assignments with a greater skill level, and ability to recognize tools and electrical components read more

Overall, I did learn a lot at this school -- but unfortunately, that had everything to do with the instructors and nothing to do with the school's administration. It's honestly a shame that the school wasn't willing to take proper care of great instructors who genuinely went above and beyond for students. The few instructors who truly cared about our success -- people who made a real difference -- are no longer with the school. That alone should be a huge red flag about what kind of environment this really is. Worse yet, the school actually dropped a student simply because he was getting real hands-on experience outside of class -- the kind of experience we should have been getting through the school itself. But instead of encouraging that kind of initiative, they punished it. Meanwhile, we were stuck using outdated units and wasting time in so-called "training" that felt more like going through the motions. It's honestly pathetic that the administration would rather students receive fake, useless training than anything that might actually prepare them for the real world. The office staff? Completely disorganized and uninterested in helping students. At one point, someone assigned to assist us with résumés couldn't even spell the word "college" correctly and didn't help us build résumés at all. Several classmates said he included completely inaccurate information on theirs -- which is ridiculous for someone whose job is supposed to be helping students become job-ready. Then there were the pointless assemblies that wasted valuable class time. One of them turned into a three-hour sales pitch from Klein. Another, right before graduation, was hosted by union reps who barely mentioned HVAC at all and instead focused on the electrical program. When I brought this up to the office, their response was to tell me to "chill" -- like I was the problem for wanting my time to be respected. Clearly, they had no clue what those presentations were even about, and even less interest in whether they were relevant to our field. Graduation wasn't any smoother. I had to repeatedly chase the office just to find out when I'd get my certificate, only to be told they were too busy because the school was being audited -- which only raises more red flags. I also had to handle my own financial exit paperwork because no one followed up with me, even though that was their responsibility. As for job placement, the promise of a 95% placement rate turned out to be nonsense. I got a few job leads right before graduation, but none of them matched what I trained for. There's no real system in place to help students get meaningful employment -- just empty promises and marketing tactics to get people through the door. At the end of the day, the instructors were the only redeeming part of this school -- and now they're gone. The people who made the program worth attending were pushed out or left, and what's left behind is a disorganized mess that does a disservice to the students it claims to support. If you're thinking about enrolling, be warned: you're not walking into a program built to help you -- you're walking into a school that's willing to let good teachers walk away and students fall through the cracks. read more

just graduated from the HVAC program about a month ago and I'm really glad I chose this school. The instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and actually cared about making sure we understood the material. Also Professor Orlando really knew his stuff and taught me a lot of things and I am very grateful for that. read more

VETS DO NOT COME HERE All front office staff is highly unprofessional and incompetent. The first interaction I had with Angie was very inappropriate. I was faced with a bad attitude and she seemed to be upset about something or had something against me. Due to me missing some classes, she was unable to find me as a had a family emergency. It then came to my attention she was trying to get me dropped explaining "they pay me to go to school". Sad a financial aid lady thinks they pay my BAH. Safe to say you will be faced with the same disrespect from other office staff. An instructor I believe named Ernie is known to make fun of student and barrate them if they don't know "the basics". Someone I'm not comfortable learning from. Based on the staff alone I highly advise using your benefits elsewhere. The material is very dry and repetitive. The school seems to be undergoing changes but I suspect the staff unprofessionalism will remain. I very tempted to reach out to a state official and the VA on this matter. Veterans be warned they don't respect you. read more

I cannot express how much I love & enjoyed coming to capstone college, my experience here is like no other along with all of the people I have met along the way. I joined the electrical program and without a doubt learned so much, developed a skill & gained the confidence to express myself in my work. If the on the field residential/commercial structures, circuit boards, motor control boards & conduit bending etc. aren't enough you'll definitely have fun with all the activities that include teamwork, team v team, sabotage, & and a chance to put skills and knowledge to the test by becoming a "foreman". I am super and extremely glad/grateful I got to study under one the Instructors who's dedication and determination to make an effort in being apart of every students lives here in capstone is Jack McCarty ! I started the program with Jack and immediately admired and respected the person he was which in turn has changed my outlook on my life genuinely. Speaking of instructors I've had a shorter experience with but his background & experience in the field has given me great insight on more on what to expect on the outside and how to go about certain situations to make my life easier as an electrician Mr Michael Fonseca ! He most certainly clears up any confusion I have with regards to work and is always on top of it all creating and paving new ways for us to learn here at Capstone. A quality both of these great instructors/people share is they care about your future and work extremely hard to get you all the help needed to be a respectable electrician. I highly recommend this school for anyone wanting to get into the trades and I'm telling you I loved every second. read more

Capstone is a prestigious school, ignore every negative comment you may have seen because those are from the older instructor that is no longer at the school, the HVAC-R program is the absolute best as well as the electrician program. I went to the newly started electrical program this year. This was a great program that wouldn't have been so great without Bob as the night class teacher. His care for his students success has been unparallel making sure we know our material get the experience we need and even giving us some extra skills on top of the book material and lab. I even got a job before I graduated ! The night HVAC teacher Luis is just as great and even though he wasnt my teacher we sat in on a class or two and I was impressed just as much. Capstone is an amazing school with very helpful staff and extremely knowledgeable instructors! This is a school where you will actually fix repair and learn on many different style units in real life style situations. I recommend this class to anyone trying to understand the complex world of Hvac in a short amount of time with maximum results! This is not an easy program but stick with it and ask questions and you will leave this program ready to take on the Hvac world!! read more

Stumbled on this place while googling trade schools in my area. Where do I start. I never been a book smart person, always been a hands on kind of guy. I attended this school and recently graduated not too long ago. The HVAC instructor David hands down is one of the most skilled and professional HVAC TECHNICIAN I have ever met, he teaches in a way that's hands on and makes everything make sense. The school staff are helpful and professional, always available to speak to and assist you with and questions or concerns. The school itself is not just classroom and books, it has a huge Lab / warehouse where you can work on the equipment you will be servicing in the field. Overall, just a great place and learning environment with some of the best instructors in the field. read more
