Financial aid office was extremely helpful with anything I needed they were there to take of my financial needs and made sure all was taken care of on time. The student services office that help students out with grocery cards or gas cards were all very cool and always helpful. So if PCC is on your mind I say give it a go!

I did finish with 70 credits with a 3.0 GPA although, when it comes to counseling and class advisory, they're not much help unfortunately. Basically for the most part, you do have to figure it out on your own. I generally did have a good experience and education at PCC. Especially with understanding with how music works when it comes to theory. Some of the learning is hands on and off. When it comes to college social life, if I'm being honest, it was great to make the connections I did...although, I should've mainly focused on trying to further my education rather than distracting myself. Other than that, it's generally a good community college if you're coming out of high school and a beautiful campus in my opinion.

I waited online for well over 10 minutes and when I reached out to him, I received no response. After not hearing back from Cody, I attempted to schedule another call online in hopes of speaking with someone else. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response from anyone on your team. It has now been over 2 weeks and I have yet to receive a follow up or phone call regarding my interest in the program. I had high hopes for Pacific Oaks and was excited about the possibility of pursuing my doctorate with your institution. However, the lack of communication and follow through has left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. I hope that in the future, your team can improve in this area to better support potential students like myself.

When I researched the master's program for marriage and family therapy at Pacific Oaks College, I noticed several reviews that praised this program and only three reviews that warned future students about attending this college. I assumed these three people were just bitter and angry individuals. Surprisingly, these three people were telling the truth. Pacific Oaks College falsely claims to be there for the students in all situations. They claim that since they are a smaller college they have the unique ability to get to know the students and be their advocate. When the students enter the practicum portion of the program, Pacific Oaks promises they will ensure that each practicum site will provide the education, experience and supervision required for each student to graduate. All of this is a lie. Just as the three negative but truthful reviews mentioned once this college gets your money, they are no longer available to you. If you are having issues at your practicum site, they will not advocate for you or assist you or intervene on your behalf. Certain sites especially for the LGBTQI specialty cohort and practicum sites that are at schools do not offer enough hours, so you end up having to take an additional semester of practicum. You may not be eligible to graduate with your cohort if you cannot gain enough hours. Pre-practicum classes are a joke. At each practicum site you are in group supervision with students from other colleges. I had students from Azusa Pacific and Loyola Marymount students in my group supervision. My basic knowledge on practicum etiquette was lacking. I did not know half as much as they knew, so it was extremely embarrassing knowing that we had not been properly prepared for practicum. Speaking of being prepared, be careful with the professors at this school. If you oppose certain professors' views or ask clarifying questions to certain professors, they may feel challenged by you. If they feel challenged, they will retaliate, and you will see a noticeable drop in your future grades for that class. Your best bet is to agree with everything they say, and smile and nod during classroom discussions. If you are fortunate enough to enroll in a class taught by Dr. Erica Rodriguez, Dr. Eugenia Rodriguez, Dr. Creet, Professor October, Professor Julie Walker or Professor Edward Bielecki NOT S. Bielecki consider yourself fortunate and absorb all that they teach you. They are solid instructors with a wealth of knowledge. Beware of Professor Paige, S. Bielecki, and D. Doyle. Also, no matter how sincere Dr. Kami sounds he will not assist you or follow through with whatever promise he says he will do. Lastly, make copies of EVERY document you have for pre-practicum and each semester of practicum. These documents are required for graduation, and some are sent to the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) once you graduate. The practicum coordinator lost our documents FIVE times. We were scrambling trying to locate files and resubmit them in order to graduate and receive our associate number. I really hope you heed my warning just as I wished I had believed the three honest reviews when I was researching this school. Save yourself the money, stress and frustration. At first, the staff seemed very welcoming, and I thought I had made the right choice. Unfortunately, once I was enrolled, communication was poor and getting consistent answers became difficult. One thing that stood out was the amount of turnover. During my time there, multiple instructors and the student advisor left unexpectedly, which created even more confusion. As a student, it didn't inspire much confidence in the program. When I decided to withdraw, the Director of Education didn't ask why I was leaving or whether there was anything the school could improve. Instead, I was simply sent the withdrawal paperwork I requested. It gave me the impression that retaining students or addressing concerns wasn't a priority. One of my biggest concerns was the financial transparency. I wasn't informed until orientation that the Sterile Processing program wasn't covered by FAFSA. By that point, I had already gone through the enrollment process and made plans around attending. I believe information this significant should be communicated much earlier so prospective students can make a fully informed decision before committing. Another issue was the inconsistency regarding the program format. Several of my classmates and I were given different information about whether the class would be hybrid, which caused unnecessary confusion and frustration. Based on my personal experience, I felt that enrollment and tuition seemed to take priority over clear communication and student support. If you're considering this school, I encourage you to read both the positive and negative reviews carefully before making your decision.

Because they are a smaller college, Providence might not have every major available under the sun, but if they offer what you're looking for, you'll find a Christian-centered, grace-driven, biblically-based education on offer with a small tight-knit community of students who look out and support one another. Some more comments: * Providence is, to the best of my knowledge, the only conservative Reformed college west of the Mississippi (that might matter to some people). * Also, my son is a student at the school (a junior at the time of writing). We are minorities and there are other minorities (Hispanic, Black, Asian) at the school. Our direct experience has been that Providence is accepting, supportive and affirming of all students, regardless of sex, race or ethnicity.

Let me tell you MY perspective as a student going on my 4th semester: Yes, the school has had a LOT of issues and growing pains- Keep in mind it JUST RECIEVED WASC ACCREDITATION LAST YEAR (2025) - EXCELLENT. This is exactly the same accrediation that Stanford and Berkely have. It doesn't get any higher. They just migrated their entire online platform from MOODLE to BRIGHTSPACE. Yes this confused some students in the process- I lost 3 days of my first week trying to figure it out. I got it. I emailed my professor about the confusion. He allowed me an extra day to submit my assignments on time with no penalty. INSTRUCTORS= A+. This site migration also helps to protect the institution's excellent accreditation by minimizing cheating- and I am all for it. Expect further site migrations every couple years as they update their systems. For what it's worth I thought the admins did an excellent job making the new Brightspace site look just like the older Moodle site. I had no problem finding all the links I needed to. I've taken 12 classes so far. 12 in 12 of my instructors have been professional, accessible and willing to work with me. 0 complaints. This goes for the adivsors and admin staff as well. Again, yes I had some issues in the beginning. Every single one of those issues was resolved by staff in time with no detriment to my grades or GPA, and in fact I recieved more transfer credits than I was expecting for some very old and esoteric classes. A+ They CAN be slow going- I will admit that, yes, things can take significantly LONGER than the stated processing times claim, and yes, sometimes certain materials and instructions have a bit of "Engrish" to them. 1) It's slow because it's AFFORDABLE. They use minimal staff. $180 an ENTIRE COURSE INCLUDING ALL TEXTBOOKS, FEES AND TEST EXAMS, NO TAX. I don't mind waiting a bit longer and doing things a bit earlier than usual for rates like that! An accessible, legit university with no college debt?! A+. 2) I'm not racist, and my own grasp of English is good enough that I can figure out writings and videos that might have a tiny bit of grammar issues in them. Insignificant. (and for what it's worth those were NOT in any English courses, just some CompSci classes. You can rest assured any actual ENGLISH instructors will use perfect English and grammar in their writings and materials), Classes can be tough. There is a lot of reading which replaces the boring, in-class lectures. This is a "chip away at work every day" kind of school- not a "I'll get it done at the last minute". If you don't have the right work ethic you will not find being 100% online any easier. Expect to dedicate about 10-15 hours a week on each course. As already mentioned responses from admin can be slow, because the school is run with minimal staff. This is how they keep our tution so incredibly low. Fortunately there is a very active student community on facebook. Often times you can find your answers from other students before waiting for a response from admis or advisors. Bottom line: if you are pretentious, lazy, entitled and racist this university isn't for you. ..But If excellent accreditation, amazing value, and friendly, approachable and knowledgeable instructors from all over the world appeals to you, then what are you waiting for? Do you know of ANY OTHER university ON THE PLANET that will over you a LEGIMATE, 4 year Bachelor's degree, GUARANTEED TO BE ACCEPTED BY ANYONE, ANYWHERE due to the same accrediation as Stanford and Berkeley for under $7,000, TOTAL?
