The ADN program SUCKS! Alot of the staff and professors do NOT care for there students and hinder our success ALOT. The school is super unorganized from finances to registrar with constant mistakes/battles. One of the professors went in about how much they love trump and certain policies which was shocking and super not professional. I came here and paid to learn Professor Swami lies/makes false promises and tells students maybe you shouldn't do nursing in the middle of the program. So I filled a form online as I am shopping around for a nursing school because Concord FT accelerated program was a disaster due to no structure, lack of accountability, tons of room for errors and the teacher not knowing dosage caculations and constantly changing the testing/lectures . I called and was transferred to student affairs for more information in regards to their hybrid program. I was on hold for 4 long minutes so they can transfer me back to admissions. So I hung up. I got a call back from a guy who states I. Going to run down the bullet points for you , then you tell me if you have questions. So he's telling me about the Wonderlic, the Days , the Essay and the Program. I asked for more literature sent to my email to compare other schools. He said he didn't have any ,but ran down what I needed to submit to move forward. So I asked him to confirm what he said over the phone to be clear And this was his response. What I did was Opt out because I had gotten 2 messages back to back never blocked him, if this was the case he wouldn't have been able to get through over the phone. Smith Chason College wasted a year of my life - admissions is a mess I started trying to join Smith Chason College in December 2024. From the very beginning, it was excuse after excuse. Every semester that passed, it was always "next term," "just wait," "almost there," with some new reason why I couldn't start yet. I stayed patient. I followed up. I trusted what admissions was telling me. After an entire year, we finally signed the enrollment agreement, thinking everything was finally locked in. Then out of nowhere, I get a call saying I was actually placed on a waitlist and that I might not even start until next semester in May. How do you let someone wait a year, sign paperwork, and then say, "Oh by the way, you might not get in"? That year is gone. Completely wasted. Time I could've used at another school, working toward my career instead of being strung along. The admissions department is unbelievably disorganized, misleading, and shows zero respect for students' time or future. What's most frustrating is how little they seem to care. No accountability. No urgency. Just casual delays like it's no big deal -- except it's someone else's life they're delaying. If you're considering Smith Chason, be very careful. Don't rely on verbal promises. Don't assume signing an enrollment agreement means anything. And don't waste your time the way I did. This school is a great school to get an education in sonography. The teachers can be intense but it is because they are trying to prepare the students for the real world. The teachers care about you understanding the material and want you to succeed. It can be tough at times but at the end it will be worth it. The only thing that can become frustrating is when it comes to administration. Sometimes they can be hard to get a hold of or confusing when you have a question. Overall though, great lab instructors and I highly recommend the bachelors program if you are thinking about coming here for sonography. read more

I attended WCUI and was enrolled in their CVS Program and must I say, I'm overly grateful for all the Instructors who took the time to teach and mentor the students. A special shout out to Narenia, Garenneh, Vic & Sohrab!! They really helped Shape me into the professional that I am today! One thing about Joining the Medical Imaging world is that this Program is extremely challenging but that's when you reach out for help and guidance to get through the program and be Knowledgeable in the field. Student Services in general are very helpful and always available no matter what, I truly appreciate all the student support the school provides. My externship experience was beyond compare I learned so much and had a great time gaining experience, all I can say is I enjoyed my time at WCUI, I made long term friendships and mentors. If you want your anxiety levels to skyrocket, take Echo with Rob. He doesn't care if you have depression or are sensitive--he will treat you like a first grader, scream at you, and curse at you. If you talk back, he will either report you to someone higher and have you kicked out of the school or tell you to leave the class if you can't handle his nasty language. If you leave, you lose $56K on the spot. I highly recommend that people with depression or sensitivity avoid this program with Rob. One time, he even called himself God in front of me. His professionalism is nonexistent, and the school only keeps him because he owns his own imaging school. So, your options are either to endure Rob's swearing--sometimes even about your mother--or lose your $56K. read more

COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW IN THE PICS CONCLUSION: My experience with the school was outstanding from the start till the finish. I love that everytime I call the school they will do their best to connect you to the department that you need. They answer the phone efficiently. Also they are very good in sending out notifications thru email whether there is a job fair, or simply if your books are ready. Their career service department which is led by Ms.Michelle is very good, they will check up on you every now then in regards to when are you going to take the licensure exam or if you have any jobs prospects. This only shows that even after you finish the program they still care about you. They also validate tickets if you ever need to go to school in person. They are also very responsive when it comes to emails. Overall I highly recommend this school if you ever wanted to go into medical imaging. They are an institution in this field so its guaranteed that you are in safe hands. Like I said IT IS TOUGH but all those will be so beneficial once you take the licensure exam. I never seen a college like this.its completely disorganized un qualified teachers, completely no materials to teach lab skills, and very aggressive support team specially related to Nursing Department. I reached out to Brian Mendenhall the Sr. Admissions counselor to get more information for my 23 year old daughter and her friend who are looking to attend Smith Chason. They both met with Brian for an hour, but are 23 and still need their parents for paperwork and support, this is a huge decision. Brian was rude and unprofessional. He talked over me and kept referring me to a document he emailed me and the website, basically telling me to do my own research instead of giving me details. When I asked him basic info he said don't you think your daughter should be providing you this information so she understands what she is getting into? It's clear Brain doesn't have empathy, children or professionalism. You are there to sell the school. With that attitude, no one will want to admit knowing they have to do all the foot work to figure out the next steps. The role of admissions is to hold your hand from step A-Z to assist you with what you need to admit. If you are not willing to do that Brian you need to find another job where you can be heartless and lazy! Don't work with Brian if you want help! read more

This is an UPDATE! ONTARIO CAMPUS! I decided to give this school another try so I am partially to blame for my experience. I had enough time to re-enroll I went to orientation at a hotel near the school that should have been a red flag to start . I ordered my uniforms easy process, uniforms did not fit because you order them online and cannot return them because it has school logo embroidery on it. I got my books as well easy process too. Now it's time for classes to start it's 10/02. Our instructor was not there the first week of class. We had someone stand in for her that had no interest in teaching us. Nasty attitude, very short with us and extremely rude. She has no business working with the public in my opinion. This is a Hybrid program only on Tue and Thursday eve. The first instructor was more focused on nails, clothes and ATI. We had a quiz the third day of the program but did not go over the power points for the quiz nor have lecture. So day one no lecture and on Day 2 17 min of lecture. The sub kept saying the instructor would kill her if she did not go over The PowerPoint, the PP wasn't up to par. It was let's say 4 pictures of a skeleton and 8-10 terms. Remind you we needed to read 6 chapters or something close to it. We were stressed no direction and guess what this was only day two and day three we had a quiz that they pushed to day 4. We also had 4 homework assignments due that consist of several questions on ATI in which a few classmates did not have access and they did not care. DAY 3: Our instructor returns she didn't go over what would be on the quiz. The wheels kept rolling we were already looking at Day 3-4 .Not able to retain anything because we had to read and figure it out on our own. I did email our real instructor for help and that's where the issues started instead of her telling me the focal point she said read the chapters. So you're reading 6 maybe more chapters a week in different books, then you're going to clinical on the weekend and focusing on something else. You're all over the place. It's no structure and that's where the struggle comes in. This program sets you up for failure. The first exam I got 78 with NO HELP from the school. We have a group chat and everyone was around the low to mid 70's. I was not happy at all. I used my resources scheduled with the student services she was pleasant she was doing what they pay her to do run game on the students. Make us feel like we have no issues it's all in our heads . And she did just that . I told her I wasn't happy with the program or my grade her response was at least you passed. You need to lower your expectations. And I thought maybe she's right maybe I'm too hard on myself. Nah not really I knew I needed to leave this school. It's supposed to be accelerated but it is all over the place. No real structure. No focal points and you cannot retain any of the info I later learned the pass rate is 64% for NCLEX. Because they promote different rates for other campuses. So that's my fault for not doing my due diligence. I still speak to my classmates and have learned they're still struggling and every time they bring it to the schools attention it's being turned back on the student. TBH they need to address the school about these issues it's unacceptable. The school has messaged my old school mates and u have copies making it like they're not applying themselves 20 something people having the same experience it may be the school and not the students. The actual campus is not up to standards either. The classrooms need new paint, the "clinic" rooms have broken mannequins, the beds are so old from like the 90's you have to raise them with the handle. They only had one sink that was broken for handwashing and they told us to keep our gloves and gowns as we were not getting any new ones and would need to use them for the term. My gloves ripped and I was told I had to still use them. I have still been respectful in leaving this school to their staff since I do have unfinished business with financial aid and so forth. I loaded a comment about the teacher being absent due to her child's senior night. Which brings me to the next REASON I left. Staff can miss days without consequences however they make it crystal clear if you miss days you need to make it up. There seems to be no accountability at the school and policies work against the students and not the staff. Now leaving the school I have went back to return books I'm a grown adult who don't hold grudges. I didn't bad mouth them in the full lobby of potential students I just returned my things and left. The pass rate is 64% for a reason, the classmates are complaining for a reason. They think the school is going to try to fail them to get an additional 10k and tbh that might just happen. There's a lot of unsettling behavior going on. . The school needs to do better. Find you another school there's plenty out there that are equipped to make you the best nurse read more

RED FLAGS ABOUT THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS 1.) Advisor started to lose her patience with me when I started asking about accrediation and clinical site information & attempted to shame me for not "investing in my education" when I decided not to pay them 75k for an ADN 2.) Randy in finacial aid- Will make sure Smith chason gets paid and could careless what debt student is in.. 3.) NO NCLEX pass rates for ADN 4.) Saw the SC was accreditied on the BBPE website , however when I called them they couldn't located the school in their system on their end (spoke to two different people 3 days apart in different postions) BBPE let me know "they dont necesarily have to be accredited to appear here , they just need to meet the requirements to operate " 5.) its "SmithChason.com" shouldn't it be "SmithChason.edu" 6.) when you sign documents the photos that staff have up are unprofessional as hell 7.) 75k for ADN !!!!! SmithChason makes it impossible for a student to pay out of pocket if they wanted to go there 2053 for 24 months (55k in my case) Conclusion- I'd rather wait a year and wait for CC to open and start their program with pass rates , clincal sites and easy to access information and it be FREE read more

"7 day grace period" to REACH OUT to student services for a test retake. I reach out on the 24th and get a response on the 27th. Then I respond to that within 12 hours and wait another 3 days for a response. They email and text me on the 3rd to let me know I have 4 hours to respond. And because I didn't respond because I was working, I'm now no longer eligible to retake the test because the 7 day grace period to RETAKE THE TEST has passed. I cannot make this up.. read more

i attended the LA campus. very very disorganized school. my experience was alright but expect to have a disorganized experience no matter what you do. also beware whenever you want to start a program to ask what the prerequisites are and if you can get them done at an accredited school for cheaper, do that! i could have done that and saved thousands!!! unfortunately i didnt know what the prerequisites were or else i would have done them at my community college for free but since this school is private they care more about making money than anything else honestly. the professors i've had were all great though, all very kind and knowledgeable people who are enthusiastic about the subjects! i took the AAS echo weekend program here because it was the only school closest to me for that. also ronaldo is a sweetheart and a jokester, if you see him there become friends with him, he's a great guy and does so much for the school and students! if any of you administrators are reading this give that guy a raise he deserves it. overall i wish the school cared more about their students as in i wish they were more organized for us, were transparent about information so we could save money, and gave us better ways to communicate with staff during and after externship. also they WILL place you into any externship site within 100 miles of the school but you have the option to choose your own site as long as you confirm it with the site you want and with the school and complete the paperwork for it! also if you work during school at a facility that is already an externship site for the school, you can get a 10% affiliate discount on your tuition. don't forget to check that! read more

I just completed the VN program here at the LA Campus. Overall, the school is staffed with great nurse professionals who are willing to teach the nursing students all the right ways a nurse should practice. I met a lot of people being here and I am grateful for that. Currently waiting for the nclex but I feel ready! The school did its part in preparing me well. I passed my ATI comprehensive and HeSI exist exam on the first try. The staff at the school is also supportive, the die for of nursing is also a very nice man who cares about the students success. Here is an honest review from a student who finished a sonography program here. Today I called WCUI so I could get transferred to accounting to pay for my transcript but the woman on the front desk answered and hung up right away several times. So annoying. Why are you working here?! I needed this to start my job next week. Started to call but put *67 since the phone calls weren't going through- so I'm confident my number is blocked. So absurd. Anyway- The instructors here are amazing. Just hope you can get to a good site to train you. Finish EPL as fast as you can and ask for a hospital site. I have a love/hate with this school. But people who work at the desk are lazy. I have asked to transfer to an ob clinic several times because I wasn't getting the experience where I was at my site. I advocated myself! emailed and called several times. Nothing was done. I also didn't get the full 6 month extern experience as they say I would get. I had a month of it -online extern. I guess wherever you go they will have lazy people who don't care about students and are there just for the money but I'm telling ya, the instructors are the reason why I stayed. I got a job but did I get the full experience I wanted to get for paying the amount I paid for? No. Pros: i had great instructors and passed the SPI because of them and now I have a job. I had 3 offers! Take my experience as you will. But try other sites before this one esp w CAHEEP accreditation. Put your 100% in school because you def can go off track quickly. Either way, I can't say I regretted it but all schools had its pros and cons. read more

I am currently enrolled in another school's sonography program and realized that I wanted to switch to nursing school, so I contacted West Coast Smith Chason. I am currently taking physics, algebra, physics, anatomy, physiology, and English written and oral composition, and medical terminology. My current classes end September 21'st so I won't get the transcripts until after then, and Smith Chason starts less than a week later, so obviously I can't wait until then to move forward, because I also would have to cancel out my current Sallie Mae loan, and apply for a new one with Smith Chason, etc., there is a lot to do if I chose to switch. I completed the first 8 steps they require including the TEAS exam. But the last piece of the puzzle is knowing if any of my current classes would transfer to their school, if I receive an A in the classes. It looks like algebra and physics are irrelevant to the ADN program, but I was hoping they could let me know about the English anatomy and physiology, so I was advised to contact DEBRA LOVE at registrar. I thought that she would understand that there are a lot of moving parts to best assess this transferring of schools (it's a lot more to consider and to do than originally thought), and I hoped she could give me a simple "no we won't accept the algebra because it's irrelevant to ADN, but let me look into the biology courses to see if they would transfer if you received an A". Instead, she replied as if she hadn't even read my email, saying, "We are unable to offer guidance as to what courses you should take at another institution" and telling me she refuses to even look over the courses to see if one of the courses might apply. To me that spells lazy. Not policy. Or maybe both. I asked for a supervisor hoping that she wasn't lazy and maybe she just misunderstood my question, since clearly, I did not ask her to advise me on which courses to take before attending her school. She said she doesn't have a supervisor and that she is the head of everything. I myself am a 40-year-old woman who is a manager and understands that all supervisors have a supervisor, but she continued to forbid me to speak to anyone because she is the head and does not have a supervisor. I have heard this school is a scam from other people over the years, but I really hoped that it wasn't as bad as they said, because it is a very convenient location. ( LA Campus ) i would give it a 0 if i could. i got a surgery on one of the days i had class & they would not accept my document stating why i missed class. they have a strict abscence policy. apparently you have to schedule your surgery around your classes but the surgeon was only there for 1 day that month. on top of it they have messed up my financial aid for months and charging me 300$ more and asking for late fees even though i paid for it already. do not recommend this place ever, wish i never enrolled. read more

The school and admin staff are not the best, the only reason the MRI Program is successful is because the professors in particularly Jared P and Brian A. they are both amazing and go ABOVE AND BEYOND for their students. They are so patient, hardworking, dedicated, respectful to the students' opinions and like to engage students in their class. So far, I have a very bad impression of this school. I was suppose to get a call back days ago, but have yet to receive one. I have general questions that can't be answered because they are not listed on their site. They have only one rep doing callbacks at their new location. If you can't handle the volume, then just provide this information online! Then I come on yelp and see these reviews about how terrible the school is. YIKES. Not a good or comforting feeling as a prospective student. The only reason why these reviews and ratings are truly concerning (or believable) is because I feel like I can actually relate to some.. specifically the avoiding callbacks, gathering my info but not hearing back. Anyways, I don't think this will be an ideal school for me anymore. ***Update: from 1 star to 2 stars Manager Christina M, who replied below, reached out to me in a private message. She was so kind, helpful, and made time to answer my questions which I really appreciate. She connected me with a counselor, provided me with so much information and additional resources. I finally ended up getting a call back from the counselor who was scheduled to call me days ago. The process to getting the call back was still unorganized. If it weren't for Christina, I would still have a bad impression of the school. However, her effort proves to me that there might be some caring people at this school. She's amazing and a true rock star that will really make a difference for this school. Worst school ever went for my Lvn program here and out of all the professors I had one was good I don't recommend this place AT ALLL SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ALL THE STAFF IS SOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL EVEN THE DEAN IS RUDE I BELIVE IN THE YEAR I WAS THERE I HAD ABOUT 4 deans and every single one was so unprofessional on how they spoke to the students it's so ridiculous to retake a term it cost about 6-8K the facility we were make our hrs were so unprofessional as well so dirty most of the time they had us sitting outside in the rain because they didn't have a room for us to leave our belongings and let me remind you this was multiple times first term they provided us a really professional lab after that they didn't even have a assigned classroom for us they had us all over the school sometimes we didn't even have a classroom to sit they would make us go to the library SOOO PLEASE DONT COME HERE IDK HOW THIS SCHOOL IS OPEN MULTIPLE STUDENTS CHEAT ON THE EXAM AND THEY STILL LET THEM SLIDE THIS SCHOOL IS A JOKE I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE HERE read more

I have been speaking with Leslie Santana , everything is done online to apply ... there's no tour , you have to submit your fafsa or even take your exam prior to getting a tour .. Every time u call is like your bugging people or she never answers ... horrible service And very disappointed read more

This is my school, I love everything about it. First don't listen to complains , there were always negative people around. Second if you want to do something with your life , this would be a big step. Think and choose wisely read more
