As we're paying, I hear the woman at the cashier yell across the store to a kid. Telling him if he breaks it he bought it. I turned to see & it's my 10 yr. old staring back scared & wide eyed. He was actually headed towards me to ask me what the metal object was. I told him it was to cut candle wicks & asked him to put it back. The cashier continued to grumble as if she was upset. I politely told her there was no need to yell. She just proceeded to repeat "if you break it you bought it", as if there was something wrong with her, never making eye contact. She took my cash payment & then completely ignored me. Immediately as I turned to leave, she started speaking badly about me to her co- worker, RIGHT THERE INFRONT OF ME & OTHER CUSTOMERS! I couldn't believe it. The other employee, a woman, looks at me & I tell her that is completely inappropriate & she should not be treating customers like that. This second woman then ignored what I'm saying & starts gesturing with her hand towards the door while telling me "goodbye, have a nice day". She repeated this 3 times!! What an awful experience we had at the Cellar! With these 2 horrible women with horrid manners. We truly regret giving our business to this store. Never again!

Still, they have an impressive selection of matryoshka dolls in all sizes and price ranges, plus assorted local trinkets and souvenirs - basically a good place to find whatever sort of Alaska memory you're looking for to remember your trip by. They also had a nice sale rack in the back where I found 1/2 price matryoshka dolls. It was hard to resist not buying one at such a good price!

I wanted to buy my daughter a nesting doll (matryoshka), and they had soooo many to choose from. I found her one on a sale rack. I also got myself a beautiful cross from Russia to add to my collection of crosses. I am kicking myself, however, for not getting the fur hat. They had several and they cost about $75-85 bucks, but would have been such a cool souvenir to have during the winter time here. Even though it doesn't get THAT cold in Paso Robles, they looked really fun. I won't pass up the opportunity next time! Save your shopping dollars in Alaska for this place. Really cool stuff.

I bought two scarves and was totally happy with my purchase. I wish I'd had room in my suitcase to fit more- loved the Alaska items they had for sale! The young woman who helped me was so kind and she wrapped my scarves very carefully. Do take a moment to shop here on your way to the courtesy buses if you go into town (this shop is on the upper level- and the line for the bus actually ran outside of it.)

This is a new terminal with lots of shopping. We took the time to stop and take a picture of the carved Bald Eagle that welcomes visitors to Sitka. We were able to take advantage of the free shuttle bus into downtown to the Harrigan Centennial Hall. It was a very pleasant scenic ride with a great commentary by the driver.

They had the necklace clasp repaired in 2 days, but said they could not repair the bracelet clasp because of the material it was made out of. I asked them to just do what they could, and low and behold! A week later, I have my bracelet back, fixed. All of this for no charge. It's worth a visit just to see sets like Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, Harry Potter, and the American presidents. Because everyone wants to take a picture and not actually buy the nesting dolls, the purveyors have had to put up a sign saying, "No photographs!" Thankfully I didn't notice the sign before I snapped away. They also had a nice supply of Russian Christmas ornaments and I bought one. Pay no attention to the Yelp map which maps Random House by its P.O. number, Random House is located on Lincoln St. along with all the other tourist shops.
