We ordered a round of beers and checked out the place and the people. The bartenders were very nice, a lot of southern hospitality in this town. We were finally seated and ordered a seafood platter and a few orders of seafood gumbo. The gumbo was absolutely delicious. Shrimp that tasted amazing and sausage with great flavor. Rice cooked perfectly and overall a great dish. The seafood platter in my opinion, not worth the money. It was okay, but nothing spectacular. Coming from vegas the bar is set high on dining out as we have the best of the best in our city when it comes to places to eat. While this was a fun place to hang, it's expensive for a college town. The ahi tuna nachos at this place are absolutely amazing and a must try. Best thing I ate there. A ton of Ahi and a huge portion. There was more ahi than chips. Clean place, fair service at the tables, waitress delivered 4 entrees and saint bring the 11 year olds dinner. He sat for 15 minutes and I had to hunt her down to ask where the kids food was. Serve everyone at the same time, it's rude not to. This was a big annoyance for me as the child sits with no food while everyone else is eating for 15-20 minutes.

When you walk in you order at the counter, but they do bring it to your table. The service is fairly quick and we have only ever had friendly staff. That's awesome. I sat at the Duce next to the window right by the bar. Julie told Me she saw me get my own water. She said she was going to take care of my bill. Surprised that my feedback resulted in this level of recover I asked if the restaurant is taking care of my check or if she was. She said the manager offered a small discount on the salad but she was sorry I had this kind of experience and wanted to make sure I Came back and gave them another chance. She said this was her passion and wants to make sure her guests are taken care of. I insisted I pay and explained I was there on business so I wasn't paying for it myself. After several time trying, I just said "thank you and I wished everyone cared as much." That was by far the most sincere service recovery I ever encountered and it was at the cost of the associate. Manager never game to the table. I don't recall seeing anyone that fit that description either. This is a mid to upper tier price point "nice" establishment so expectations should reflect that. Julie owned it and took one for the team. I felt horrible she felt she needed to do that. I hope she doesn't do this often. Experience not so good but I experienced worse. Food was okay to good. Julie was outstanding. I don't carry cash but I gave her everything I had. The only response I need to hear that would make me change my mind is if Julie was refunded for my check.
