I dined there July 30, came in around 6 pm. Second time in a week. First experience- ordered half Caesar and pasta Jambalaya. Good except the pasta came out before my Caesar. I sat at the bar and stared at my salad for a long time as it sat in the window. Tonight I ordered the Caesar again and said I would order my entree later. Server informed me my salad was almost ready. At that time I ordered my entree- red fish. I received my salad after a few minutes after that. Just a few minutes later and not quite half way through my Caesar my redfish showed up and dropped mid salad. I let My server came to check on me and she kindly apologized and I told her it was just feedback I thought would help because it seems like it's a problem. Just feedback. My server got "sat". She said she'd bring me water and got backed up. I ended up refilling my water at the bar. This is a long review but it has a happy ending, I promise. Her name was Julie. I sat at the Duce next to the window right by the bar. Julie told Me she saw me get my own water. She said she was going to take care of my bill. Surprised that my feedback resulted in this level of recover I asked if the restaurant is taking care of my check or if she was. She said the manager offered a small discount on the salad but she was sorry I had this kind of experience and wanted to make sure I Came back and gave them another chance. She said this was her passion and wants to make sure her guests are taken care of. I insisted I pay and explained I was there on business so I wasn't paying for it myself. After several time trying, I just said "thank you and I wished everyone cared as much." That was by far the most sincere service recovery I ever encountered and it was at the cost of the associate. Manager never game to the table. I don't recall seeing anyone that fit that description either. This is a mid to upper tier price point "nice" establishment so expectations should reflect that. Julie owned it and took one for the team. I felt horrible she felt she needed to do that. I hope she doesn't do this often. Experience not so good but I experienced worse. Food was okay to good. Julie was outstanding. I don't carry cash but I gave her everything I had. The only response I need to hear that would make me change my mind is if Julie was refunded for my check. So disappointed in this restaurant, and unfortunately, Mitchell, the bar manager, was the worst part of our experience. We had been really excited to eat here because of Chef Currence. I ordered a salad described as "market greens with shrimp." Because I don't care for field greens, I specifically asked our waiter--who was a trainee--what type of lettuce was used. He assured me it was iceberg and romaine. When the salad arrived, it was actually field greens. I ate only a few bites, including about 2 1/2 shrimp, before sending it back. Our waiter apologized and offered to have it remade. The replacement salad then arrived without any shrimp or cheese and absolutely piled with onions. Another waiter came over and told me that because I had supposedly eaten all of the shrimp from the first salad, they would not bring me any more. That simply was not true. At that point, I sent the second salad back and asked that it be removed from our bill. That's when Mitchell became involved. Instead of trying to resolve what should have been a very simple situation, he refused to remove the salad from the bill and essentially accused me of lying because he had been told there were no shrimp left on the plate. He even told us he was getting "his ass chewed off by his manager for comping food." That is an incredibly inappropriate thing for a manager to say to a customer and certainly not our problem. Mitchell also argued that although our waiter had specifically told me the salad contained iceberg and romaine, the menu said "market greens"--as though I should somehow be responsible for incorrect information provided by their own employee. Mistakes happen, especially with a trainee, and we completely understood that. What turned this into such a disappointing experience was the way management handled it. Rather than simply acknowledging the misunderstanding and removing a salad that had been made incorrectly twice, Mitchell was argumentative, unprofessional, and made me feel as though I was being accused of trying to get something for free. We were genuinely excited about eating here, which makes the experience even more disappointing. A restaurant at this level should know that good hospitality is often about how you handle a mistake--not whether a mistake happens in the first place. Such a nice restaurant. I love the booths, the hardwood floors, the lighting, the location. Of course, the food is amazing as well (part of Chef John Currence's City Grocery group). Our server Rob was top notch. Very patient and helpful. Made good suggestions. We were having a late lunch and it's nice they're open all afternoon (not closing between lunch and dinner). We really love this place and enjoy coming back. Oh, and an incredible bit of info. is that Chef Tory McPhail (who helmed the kitchen of New Orleans's Cammander's Palace for many years while I lived in NOLA) is Executive Chef at City Grocery Restaurant Group and a partner at Bouré. Me and my friend was looking to try a new place in Oxford ms. We discovered Bouré on yelp and decided to give it a try. We both ordered the classic cheese burger. The burger had a delicious taste and a luxurious bun. However, in the description, it mentioned a garlic aioli but instead we were met with mustard. Still delicious though. The sweet potato fries and regular fries were impeccable, delightful. No notes there. We obviously had to order comeback sauce and ranch. Ranch was also delightful. The only issue my friend and I had was the taste of the comeback sauce. I would like to consider ourselves as comeback connoisseurs. This was the farthest thing away from comeback sauce. Boure is always our favorite spot in Oxford! Although there is always a wait on game weekends, it is well worth it. The crawfish pot pie absolutely unforgettable -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned with the kind of creamy Cajun comfort you dream about. Every bite was packed with crawfish and baked to golden perfection. My daughter anxiously awaits us to arrive in town so that we can go to Boure and she can order the salmon. I have also had it and it was just as impressive as everything else I have tried on the menu. We were in Oxford, and our nephew who attends Ol Miss U. He brought us to Boure for a dinner visit. We didn't know what their fare was, and we were pleasantly surprised that they specialized in New Orleans styled dishes. We started out with Gumbo, which was loaded with seafood, chicken, and Andouille sausage and a tasty broth. For my main course, I tried the Pasta Jambalaya. I've always had rice with my Jambalaya, but the pasta was a very nice twist. The Jambalaya had plenty of chicken, crayfish, shrimp and andouille sausage...delicious. We'll be returning to Oxford soon, and we will definitely be stopping by at Borne again. They also have an upper floor with outdoor seating we would like to experience. read more

Every now and then, we travel to Oxford for a brief trip, as we did this week to visit with an old college friend. Quite a few years ago, soon after the restaurant opened, we discovered Boure - and it immediately became our choice of restaurants for our visits. Through the years, we've not dined anywhere else in Oxford. Both we and our friend had dined at Boure a number of times - always with total satisfaction. Great service, amazing selections on the menu, generous portions, and absolutely delicious food!! This week, we chose to return to Boure, and our visit was a great disappointment to all of our group. The menu had changed since our last visit, with our favorite dishes no longer listed, and all of us experienced difficulty finding something to order. None of us was pleased with our choices of food - which ranged from sandwiches to large meals. My wife ordered a smoked pastrami reuben that appeared to have been made quickly in someone's home kitchen - very thin bread and very little 'filling.' The very limited amount of pastrami was very difficult to swallow - very dry meat with almost nothing to moisten it. I ordered an entree salad that had a tiny piece of chicken atop it. All of us were disappointed in our meals - and with the fact that it took more than an hour for us to receive our food after placing our orders. The wait service was so-so at best, beginning with a waiter mistakingly taking our table from the area of another server, who, after taking over, provided very spotty service. Finally, the ambience was not good - as the noise level was so great that we could not hear each other sufficiently to carry on conversations. The final conclusion is that we will not return to Boure, although it previously had been our first choice during our visits to Oxford. What a shame!! read more

Drove down from Olive Branch to Oxford for the Double Decker Festival weekend and needed a meal! Located on The Square of Oxford, this restaurant makes you feel like you're in New Orleans, and despite other restaurants being unable to take walking Boure was accepting walk-ins! The food was so good! There was a 1 1/2 wait and the restaurant doesn't accept reservations but they will add you to the waitlist. I highly recommend the shrimp & grits! read more

Good atmosphere for upscale college resturant. We had the wings, steak, and Boure Burger w/ bacon. The wings were the best part of the meal. Service at the bar by the kitchen was great but the food tonight was ice cold! This was very disappointing because this was one of our favorite restaurants. This is the second time in two weeks going to this restaurant that my food has come out ice cold. I thought I would give it another shot tonight with my husband and we were wrong. My husband and I were splitting the pasta jambalaya we sent our order back twice tonight and both times it came out ice cold this is unacceptable. Our server asked if he could get us anything else the second time he brought back our entree my husband looked at him and said how about a microwave . Two weeks ago I took a friend to dinner here and the vegetables with my roasted chicken were ice cold and the fries that my friend ordered also cold. The new order of fries they brought out still wasn't warm. I don't know what's going on in that kitchen, but since the new menu change it has not been good! Also bring back the fillet because there are not many woman that want a ribeye. Last time I checked there are more female students than males 9 times out of 10 if a lady wants a steak she's going to order a fillet. On a Wednesday afternoon during spring break--when I expected the city to be relatively deserted--there was a 20 minute wait for a table (no clue how long a patio table would have been). Instead, I opted to eat at the bar, which offers a full menu (downstairs only). Service was good at the bar, but you're right beside the (open) kitchen, so it's quite busy and loud in the area. I ordered a pomegranate martini, spinach and artichoke dip, and a chicken sandwich. All three were mediocre, at best. While not a terrible meal, with so many options at a similar price point in Oxford, I'll pass next time. read more

I haven't visited Oxford since the start of the pandemic. And had it in my mind to visit Boure, when my colleagues asked " where are we going to dinner"? We brought along a friend who had never previously visited Oxford let alone Boure. And he was impressed, which I was counting on. The food was reliably awesome...I can honestly say I missed the southern style home cooking that Boure offers. The only negative I can say is that they didn't have all the ingredients for one of their signature drinks, but with supply issues hitting everyone; I wasn't surprised nor upset( that goes for everyone in my 4 person group). All food is currently cajun, which means that those of us that prefer a tasty dish over a spicy dinner are out of luck. They used to have a couple of options for those of us with a higher taste palate but the new menu eliminated them and the only non-country dessert. I tried to keep an open mind and ordered three different plates, which the waitress said were the crowd favorites and could not stomach all of the spices preventing true taste. Therefore, I will not be going back nor will the business travelers that accompanied me from New York, only to be severely let down. We would recommend having a couple of options for those of us who desire an elegant dish or you may lose more customers. I understand that many people like rustic food (barbacue, fried foods, and spicy food) but those of us who are not from the region would prefer food that taste well and is not covered with strong spices to hide the actual taste. Came in last night for a dinner to celebrate our drone competition. The estimated an hour and 30 minute wait, however it only took 30 minutes. The restaurant is located on the adorable town square. It is loud and busy in the restaurant. The service is a tad slow. We ordered drink than waited 20-30 minutes for food. The food was fantastic. Nothing to complain about. I had the crawfish and shrimp pot pie. It was seasoned well, hot and had a buttery, flakey crust. The stars are taken off for the dirty restroom. There was an infestation of fruit flies in the toilet and drain, no paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor. read more
