I made a mistake here, this review was supposed to be for Captain D's in Clinton Twp. Michigan. I used to love this place. The food was always good and it was hot. Today the cole slaw was clearly not fresh, my fish and my fries were cold, and the orders have been made smaller as well (i never could finish the 4 piece, today I did). On July 21, 2023, I ordered dinner online from Captain D's on Hwy 138(I want to ensure this review is for the correct location). I was promised my order at 8:17 pm. My card was immediately debited. I arrived at the restaurant at 8:23 pm. The drive thru line was wrapped around the building. I parked and went inside. The inside was as chaotic as the drive thru line. When my turn at the register, I informed the associate who I was and my online order info. She had zero customer service skills and demonstrated a very poor desire to be working. She yelled my name and went about her business. There was one person visible in the kitchen and one person taking drive thru orders. Totally disorganized and a shortage of workers! Through many frustrating exchanges I received my order at 9:15 pm. I asked for the manager's name and the man taking the drive thru orders said there were two, which he was one. The names he quoted were inaudible. Needless to say my shrimp were over cooked, green beans were not in the order. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN! Terrible! Warmed over seafood. This was my first time ordering from this particular Captain D's on 109 Lake Spivey Pkwy, GA-138. I've ordered from several Captain D's prior to today, and the food was always fresh. Plus, I did not get my cheesecake. I called and spoke with the Store Manager. She kept blaming Doordash. I told her Doordash did not cook the food and that I know the difference between fresh and warmed over food. It was over cooked, too. Her last excuse was they have a lot of orders and they are the #1 store and how is it that I am the only person who has ever complained. I told her she needs to stop making excuses and be concerned about the customer and check her folks who cooked it and that I was going to give a terrible review because the food was awful and her response to this complaint was non-caring basically just excuses. Absolutely love the grilled Tilapia, one of the few places around the country that offers healthy choices. This location is under new management I was told and they seem to be focused on quality and great service. The young people really hold it down here it seems as the managers insure quality products are being produced. Great job guys, as a customer who's on the road all week I've developed an eye for what a good restaurant is and the entire crew embodies that especially the kitchen crew, keep up the good work. First* The drive-through is always backed up , and when you finally approach the pick-up window. There is never any apologies or any curtesy to a least say " oh I'm sorry for your wait " or "how was your day" Same goes for inside as well. It's ran by teens who don't really take the job seriously . I get there and immediately they tell me they are out of hush puppies for the night...how disappointing. I still decide to get the clams which are okay. They get two stars because the workers were in and out talking all over the customers and their food and because they didn't have hush puppies as well as a handful of menu items. This place is just awful in time management. I literally waited almost an hr for food. I waited so long that the person I was with went shopping while I waited for food. They are extremely slow!!! After she saw me standing there waiting for my salad she thought at that time it wld be a good idea to go check on it. As soon as she went to the back the salad came out and instead of handing it to me, we were literally standing in front of each other, she tells the girl who she just made wipe down trays to pass me the salad. The girl didn't so the poor guy who takes out the trash just happened to be back there and she tells him to pass the salad to me! Like wtf?!! We are literally fave to face.
