So I used to frequent this restaurant quite a bit, with a very dear friend who loved it. On the anniversary of his passing, I decided to try this restaurant again and had a very unpleasant experience. I waited for 10 minutes before anyone came out to seat me. Then I waited 15 minutes before leaving because the four waiters walking around the dining room, never acknowledged my existence. I felt this was unacceptable and I was getting more angry than was appropriate because of my expectation of a good experience to remember my friend was being ruined by very bad service. It's been a couple of years and so I decided to give it another try. The people were very nice and service was very fast and efficient. However, things did not go that well overall. I wanted the loaded potato skin appetizer that my friend and I always ate, and a plank salmon with a Cesar salad. I would've had to pay extra to have a Caesar salad as my side and then order a vegetable I didn't like and when I asked if I could get one Caesar salad instead of two side items and not pay extra but that was not an option. So instead, I had a Caesar salad and french fries as my sides and didn't get the appetizer. The salad was the highlight of the meal. When the cedar plank and french fries came out, the fries were room temperature, and the salmon was very hot. I tried the salmon and it was bland so I was gonna ask some tartar sauce, but the waitress was nowhere to be seen, and the salmon was getting cold, so I ate it with the lemon on it and ignored the fries. When the waitress returned I explained about the fries and she brought more. They were also not very tasty, so I went to grab the ketchup. It wasn't until then I realized how dirty the wall next to me was. I also didn't think about it at the time, but when I finished my salmon, I realized how black the plank was. I don't remember it being that dark before, so I kind of assume at this point they reuse the planks. It was a little bit disturbing and because the whole point of using the plank is to season the fish, a blackened plank doesn't have enough seasoning left in the wood to affect the flavor of the fish. So I doubt I will ever return to this restaurant. Unless somebody else really really really wants to go there and I would rather make them happy than have a decent meal. Probably then I'd just order a salad. read more

My online order was set to be ready at 7:46 pm, I did not get my order until 8:15 pm after I asked to speak to a manager. Another customer was there waiting when I arrived and she said her order was supposed to be ready at 7:15 pm. She walked out with her order at 8:10 pm. The manager apologized and said they had been really busy, however, there were very few customers I side the restaurant. My order was for the family Honey Drizzled Chicken, the food was hot but NO HONEY was on any of the chicken. The rolls were hot and so was the broccoli. I went to this location yesterday for lunch and the opportunity to dine with some special guests yesterday. We let the manager know and she only offered to move us to another table. Everyone was moving and acting so nonchalantly about this situation. These were literal roaches, I know somebody may try to say these were water bugs. They were not. This place needs to be shutdown and inspected, because if these roaches were comfortable coming out in the day time, I can only imagine how they are at night. One roach was on the floor by our table and the other climbed out of the wall at our table. We were disgusted. Clayton County Health Department needs to know about it. read more

Wow, maybe O'charley's is back. My wife and I used to eat there fairly often, but they had cut the menu so much and the quality was not there . Tonight my wife said she say commercials with a new menu and we decided to take a chance. Menu was much better, Salsberry steak, meat loaf, country fried steak, catfish, sea food platter, more than they have been having . Wife had ribs, I had Cajun shrimp and pasta. Restaurant was clean with several seating options. The server was attentive and kept our drinks filled. She was friendly and had a smile each time she checked on us. Our food was deldelivered promptly, and bread was hot out of the oven. Unfortunately, the food didn't have much seasoning. I didn't try the fried okra, but the rest of the group just gave it an ok. The mashed sweet potatoes was probably my favorite part of the meal. The honey chicken and broccoli were good, but they needed some extra salt and pepper. Everyone else enjoyed their food but all agreed that the food tasted a bit bland compared to our previous experiences. Overall, the service is what would keep us coming back. read more

Visited March 2020 I actually have never been to O'Charley's, but because it was a Wednesday, we had to go check out free pie Wednesday for my first visit! How could I say no?? O'Charley's was pretty packed with a full parking lot and a wait time of about 15 minutes but we were seated soon after, and after recommendation, We got the following: Peach Chutney Chicken ($9.99) 12 oz Louisiana Sirloin ($18.99) apple pie ($0.0) peach pie ($0.0) In general I don't have anything negative to say about the food. The flavors I tried were never amazing, but they were solid. Admittedly the rolls were a question mark to me. Many have told me that the rolls are the crown jewel of the dining experience at O'Charley's. The rolls to us were just rolls. One of the issues we came across is during this dinner, O'Charley's ran out of all seafood, so no salmon, no shrimp etc., which was no problem for me since i'm allergic to those, but a back up plan was needed for my girlfriend for what to order (which was the steak) The second issue was the service. Things were just very slow. While there was a large group placed right next to us, that shouldn't have eliminated us as guests, but often we were overlooked for even the simplest things such as water refills or removing our used plates (these were removed AFTER our pies were placed on the table). I'd give O'Charley's a 2.5 and would not round it up to 3 stars. While it's a chain, there have been chains that knock it out of the park with service. With limited selection, almost non-existent service and just okay flavors, i've definitely had better. read more

Had the fried chicken sandwich at lunch last week. Gotta say, it was really good! Nicely seasoned and great taste!

So i'm updating my review and experience since my last visit. Today, was much better my server Irma was attentive and very friendly. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon which was a little burnt to my liking, but I didn't want to complain. The star of the show was the Chicken Tortilla soup..Chic-Fil-A watch out :-) and you never can go wrong with the $4 house Margarita. Hi O'Charley's I placed my order for pick up on3/4 said it would be ready at 6pm I got there at 6:15 order still wasn't ready , when it finally got there at 6:30 I was told they were out of fried cheese and they gave me extra tenders instead. When I opened my order I had 2 1/2 tenders and the order comes with 3 and no cheese which should have been refunded since you were out and no utensils of butter . This place is right next to my job so it's convenient but I think I will take my business to a place that I can get what I order . Enjoyed a dinner out with the family, we got the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer, which was really good. Our meals were room temperature. Chicken tender, rib steak platter was okay. Tenders we're good, steak tasted cheap but good cook on it (medium rare) and ribs were good, would have been better if warm. Chicken Alfredo was room temperature but tasted good. It's like someone who has never left a 50-mile radius of their small-town high school visited an Applebee's, said "whoa there partner this is too fancy", and started a business that was like it but somehow even worse. I hate the rolls they give out because they are incredibly sweet for plain white bread. I mean, at least they keep you alive when your food takes a half hour to arrive. I ordered Nashville hot chicken strips, and while the flavor was OK the composition of the sauce was unacceptable. It looked like a bunch of salt and chili powder in oil. There was a pool of oil at the bottom of the basket. The chicken is one of their signature dishes, and despite being poorly executed somehow managed to be the best food I tried while here. My prime rib burger was good in theory, but literally the worst burger I've ever had from a restaurant. The rib meat was unseasoned. And it was covered--absolutely doused with some unidentifiable sauce that looked like BBQ and tasted like pure sugar. Like, I couldn't even finish this. No one in my family seemed to enjoy much aside from the endless fried catfish and the drinks, which were admittedly better than other chain restaurants. I still refuse to award a second star for this because I would rather suffer from a variety of horrible evenings than have dinner here again. I would literally eat fast food before eating here again. My family and I had a great time celebrating our son's birthday on Monday night. The restaurant wasn't busy at all around 7 pm. I was a bit disappointed at the food and ambiance this time. Rice pilaf was dry and hard, probably old leftover from days before. Cole slaw tasted like old sour cream, not fresh at all. Ribs tough, no sauce offered, no butter spread for my bread or dry rice. There's an old musty smell from dingy carpet when you first walk in. No wonder it's called Ole Charley's. When traveling, which we do a lot, I like finding an O'Charley's because The food has always been reliably good. We arrived around 6:30 pm. Our server Jane W was extremely professional and took excellent care of us. My husband ordered the pork chop w/broccoli and bacon smashed potatoes. He loved it. I ordered the salmon bowl and loved it! The only negative part of our experience was the wall at the end of our booth. It was DISGUSTING! (See pic). This is no small detail. I would close the restaurant and have an "all hands on deck" cleaning day. It's amazing what some soap and a Magic Eraser will do. Two bad experiences in a row. Both were togo orders. First time was extremely slow service. Arrived at the determined time the food was to be done and waited 20+ plus minutes. Tonight's issue was a burnt up grilled cheese kids meal. I am adding a picture of the sandwich. The sandwhich is clearly inedible and yet they still served it. Horrible food especially if your planning on eating here at this location after 7:30pm I was at this location 10/27/2021 I order the ribeye steak cooked well done I'm guessing that the cooks shut the grill down early because it appears my steak was cooked in the microwaved it had NO Grill Mark's what so ever ..My broccoli was nearly cold as ice and the baked potato looked as if was a couple days old and not to mention the bread was cold too!!! After having the manager come to my table I took a piece of broccoli off my plate and placed it on the back of his hand and he looked with disbelief and apologized and told me to keep the food and it was no charge for the meal!!! We come here every week mainly because of our server Alexis. The food is good but she is amazing!!! We eat here on Sunday's and she is wonderful. She is so sweet and always delivers excellent service. She knows our orders and sometimes has our drinks on the table before we even sit down.
