Scooter's Jungle - El Segundo - Huge Slides and Active Play during your Private Arena Experience!

Scooter's Jungle - El Segundo

(438 reviews)

The first time we visited Scooter's Jungle was for my son's friend's birthday party. I had never…read moreheard of Scooter's Jungle, and didn't know what to expect but was so impressed by the way the event was run that we hosted my son's birthday party at Scooter's Jungle a few months later. The reservation process was easy and the staff walked me through each step and checked in when they said they would to finalize details. Once we arrived, they helped to unload our car with the supplies and basically set up the party room themselves--which was awesome and looked great! The kiddos are given a quick breakdown of rules, and then we all went into the Village Arena. I really like that you get the play and dining areas to yourselves. They ran around like crazy for about an hour and half. There's a huge indoor slide which was fun not just for the kids, but also the adults! I wasn't sure if we should book the village or ultimate arena, but for kids ages 2-10, the village arena had more than enough bouncy houses and activities to keep everyone entertained. We had two staff members assigned to our group, I think their names were Eddie and Jacob? They were seriously fantastic. It was nice to have people step in to help with moving the party along, and also with set-up and clean-up. Their help made the party so much more enjoyable for me as well, since I could focus more of my energy on my son and our guests. The food was yummy, the staff was great, and the space is perfect for little ones. Oh, and there's quite a bit of flexibility on the food items you can bring in which can help to cut the overall cost down. If you're looking for a venue that has a private play and dining space, maintains a list of attendees and their respective gifts and cards, handles loading/unloading vehicles and set-up/clean-up, AND provides food options all under one roof--then Scooter's Jungle is the spot for your kiddos next birthday party extravaganza!

First they hit all the kids harnessed up and then they watched a safety video before enter the climbing area. There are so many different walls and there are corresponding numbers to what level of difficulty it is, with number 5 before the mist difficult. Again, thank you to the attentive staff who noticed my daughter's helmet was loose after a climb and her harness also needed tightening. We were lucky with parking because we found a spot tight in front of the door but I definitely saw a lot of street parking We're already talking about our next birthday party here

In terms of route setting for the rope climbs, I do feel as though the grades are pretty soft, especially 5.6 - 5.11b. There's also tons and tons of 5.6 - 5.9 climbs, way more than I've seen anywhere else, and it does feel limiting for regulars who come often. I'd love to see more climbs that focus on technique rather than pure strength, and more challenging aspects added to the lower grades. I've brought many climbers of all levels who feel as tho it's super easy up until 5.11c, and then suddenly it gets very very hard. It'd be great to have more of a gradual ramp up in difficulty. Overall I do love it here and keep coming back each week.

The toddler really loved the sandbox area, the train area, the painting area, and especially the market which it has a Trader Joe's one. Everything was fairly clean and it was a good time. The only thing that kind of was a bummer is the adult had to pay also which I haven't been to many places that required adults to pay.

We went on a WEEKDAY at opening and the place was already overcrowded. I counted at least 3 different schools occupying the area at the same time. Areas then become packed and our kids become overstimulated. Similar to a playground (which I understand it still is), it becomes a place of chaos, rather than imaginative conducive play. Certain sections also look a bit run down as well. Front parking was PACKED even at opening. I think there is more parking in the back, but that should be a sign of how crowded this place is and gets. PRICING is $22 PER PERSON (except for infants under 12 months). Yes, this includes adults. So it can get PRICY! Overall, it's more of a one and done for us. Unless they add new play areas/shops and maybe a discounted day? Otherwise, not really worth the hassle. 3 stars because at the end of the day, it's still an OK place to go to.
