Note - Manhattan Beach is pretty strict with large parties at the park- so you will need to reserve if you're hosting a party. Overall it's a fun park that's a perfect spot for picnics, nature sight seeing and chill days.

EXCELLENT little park!…read more we had Sofia's birthday picnic here. had to put down a $200 check deposit to secure 2 tables and a bbq pit. front and center location was where they put us. good shaded area for this warm and sunny day. the tables were slightly on the smaller side, well, for a family of filipinos and mexicans at least. the bbq was the traditional park type. off the ground and large metal grates. the area we reserved and the area around was immaculately clean. grass was trimmed nicely as well. the slopes that are typical with my little town were negligible where our spot was. further out on the fringes, you can notice them. the park has it's own private parking lot which makes it very convenient. there is a "kiddie" pool on site that was very popular on this sunny warm day. the deep end was 3ft and the low end was 2.5ft. awesome for the little ones. well, not mine since we werent' dressed for it. overall, we're looking forward to coming back to hang out here and have another picnic. maybe not as grand of a scale as a birthday party, but, a little bbq and some sun. also, we'd love to come back and have the kids check out the pool. we should get some use out of our $10 recreation card!

This summer we came the 2nd weekend and it was closed both Saturday and Sunday. When we called to ask why it was closed they said they didn't know. Today I called at 11:45 and they told me that the pool would be open at 12. When I got here we were told that they ran out of chlorine and were waiting for someone to bring some. Then at 1 we were told they would open at 1:30. Finally at 1:50 the pool opens and I'm told that my rec id had expired and I need to renew with 2 forms of id or pay. I said we've been waiting for almost 2 hours and we need to leave soon by the time I go home and get that it will be too late can you just let us in. The guy said uh no. Also if there is a birthday party the pool gets packed with kids and parents. Once the pool gets dirty they close the pool and tell you to come back next time usually within the last half hour. Also at the end of the season the lifeguards start to call out so if there are not enough lifeguards the pool can't open. Also they charged me $1 more than what is listed on the website. If you're coming from far away I wouldn't recommend. If you're local and have a rec ID it's worth taking a chance but expect to be disappointed

Date: May 28, 2024…read more I'm so glad I stumbled on this gem of a park!! It's so pretty and seems newly renovated. It's very clean and the kids love it! There's two playgrounds and some little things in between. My toddler loves climbing the stairs to get through the tunnel and slide down the big tube slide! I love that it's fully covered so my younger one isn't afraid of going down it too because he can't slip off! The restrooms are also very clean and plentiful. They sit right next to the exercise machines. They also have a parking lot next to the tennis courts but plenty of parking all around on the streets as well! I've seen the wading pool but never got to check it out when it's open but it's pretty big! Hope we get to check it out next year but it's always so much cooler in the South Bay. They have swings and ones where an adult can sit on the end while the child sits in front of them and my babies love it!! So much easier and more fun than just pushing them behind. And this way you can see their full reactions as they swing! Woowoo!! As you can tell, I'm a big fan of this park! Always a hit with the boys and love that it's so fresh and clean! Oh also plenty of benches around! And the ice cream truck is always there!

The bleachers near the baseball field were typical of the other Redondo Beach parks...comfortable enough to sit on for a couple of hours. But no shade, so wear a hat and sunglasses. There was an enclosed senior center also. Didn't get to see inside, but it's a nice benefit for the residents.

The only minor issue is that the restrooms are a bit far if you place yourself towards the middle of the beach. They have spots for beach volleyball and there are lots of people walking and riding their bikes on the sidewalk. This beach is also a good option if you want to go inside the water.

It's located across from the Strand in Manhattan Beach where there is a lifeguard station with a public parking lot with meters. There's also a couple of basketball hoops. Dogs are allowed on the grass in the lower part of the park. On the upper level, there's benches to enjoy the lovely view of the beach (where dogs are not allowed). I would definitely come back to visit and bring a snack to have a picnic on the beautiful lawn.

This park is amazing and the perfect spot to have held Movie in the Park!…read more Located on the Chevron refinery premises, this park is on the corner of El Segundo and Sepulveda Blvd. Much like the refinery, the park portion is pretty sprawling. There is a large grass field area, a softball field, sand volleyball, a basketball court, playground, picnic table area and a partridge in a pear tree! I should note that the park is Employee's only and not generally open to the public. Not that I can confirm, however. I took the fam bam to watch Despicable Me 2 here. The doors opened at 4p and the movie was to begin at dusk. Due to the entrance being off a street, the ESPD were kind enough to cordon off an entire lane of El Segundo Blvd so we could have a safe lane to walk on. Parking for disabled guests were IN the park and the rest of the parking was across the street. There were lots of activities for kids available as well as a beer/wine booth for the grown follks. Food booths were also available and ranged from tacos to pizza to funnel cake. The movie ended up starting around 830p. Luckily, all those activities (and beer) were available to occupy all the families out. We didn't quite make it through the movie, but, good times were had by all! Would love to come back here for another fun filled event!

Also, there is no bathroom, so be prepared for that. That said, it's a nice park designed specifically for toddlers and young kids (ages 2-5). The play structure is in good condition. It's pretty small, though, so if your kid prefers the "big slide," this is not for you. The few times we've been there, there were no other kids, so that was fun. One other (unintended) "hit" for our kid were the random stairs on the outer edge of the park. Lots of fun was had just running up and down those steps.
