I was excited when we hopped right in the boat and headed out 20 minutes early! We caught our first fish, a 20 pound bonnet head shark, right away. I told Jeremy we wanted to catch an even bigger shark and we headed to another location. There we caught some large redfish and the bigger sharks I had been hoping for! Captain Christopher Mattson is a sure bet for your fishing charter experience. We went out on a…read moreblustery day with some rain, but Captain Mattson was determined to find us fish. We stopped at a number of locations fishing the grasses for Red Fish. When the location didn't pan out or after we caught one or two, we moved on to the next location. Overall, we reeled in 10 Red Fish, most too large to keep! But we did have two that were within size limits. Captain Mattson cleaned the fish for us and even provided some cooking tips. We cooked the fish on the grill and it was fantastic. Mattson Charters is definitely the way to go. We'll book all our trips with Mattson Charter Service from now on.

Decided at the last minute to go fishing on Easter Sunday, Ben came highly recommended, and did not…read moredisappoint! First, he was available on Easter Sunday. Second, took us to a couple of spots where we were pleasantly surprised with some good catches, even though the weather was a bit cold! When those spots weren't biting, he happily found us another spot. Ben even went over our allotted time at no extra charge. Once docked, he cleaned and gutted all of our fish, put in baggies for us to grill later. Ben was the very polite, knew how to navigate and was get knowledgeable being that he was a local. I highly recommend Ben for any small charter fishing adventure, we will definitely be using him again while we are here in Charleston.
