What a nostalgia trip! I went on this boat maybe 35 years ago and remembered it fondly. I still…read moreremember several of the stories and jokes I heard aboard way back then. When my family was embarking on a cruise from Fort Lauderdale, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce my own kids to the Jungle Queen. It's a short boat ride that takes you through the canals behind the mansions and quasi-famous homes on the water. Your guide on board will tell you about the homes and landmarks you pass en route. There is a bar on board, so no need to sail sober! LOL There are also a few snacks for purchase. The air movement on the boat keeps you from getting too warm, even when the sun is blazing, but don't forget your sunscreen. There's no bad seat aboard. All in all, it's a nice little boat ride if you're looking to get outside and burn some time in Fort Lauderdale. There is a string of food shops along the waterfront outside the entrance, so you can plan to grab lunch or dinner before or after your ride. We really enjoyed our trip, but I'm deducting one star due to the boat traffic (which I know they cannot really help). Maneuvering around all the other drunks in their watercraft was kind of a drag.

A two story boat the cruses to the Jungle island. Drinks on the boat while you can sit or walk around while enjoying the scenery. Beautiful waterfront homes and yachts big ones little one. While your cruising other people wave to you they have a little bit of music playing. I enjoyed standing in the front it was very enjoyable and just loved the sunset Florida has some of the most beautiful sunsets incredible. We arrived at the island and greeted with friendly people where all the entertainment began. We sat down and ate they brought the food bbq to the table brought is drinks during the dinner they had live music that followed outside fire dancers and hula dancing. Then you were able to walk around the island birds a few animals jungle vibe. Than back on the boat for a ride back. Food was chicken which was tender and tasty. Ribs that feel off the bone with extra bbq sauce. Corn bread coleslaw.

Sailing dates: November 9-15 (Bahamas * Bimini * Cozumel * Grand Cayman)…read moreReview of the Celebrity Silhouette - Beautiful Ship, Great Food... But Not the Right Vibe for Everyone I recently sailed on the Celebrity Silhouette. While the ship itself is beautiful and the food and staff were fantastic, the overall experience wasn't the right fit for me. Here's my honest, condensed review: The Good: Beautiful Ship, Incredible Staff, Outstanding Food Ship & Layout The Silhouette is gorgeous, thoughtfully designed, clean, and easy to navigate. Everything felt well organized. Staff & Service The staff were exceptional--friendly, accommodating, and consistently helpful. Their service was a major highlight. Bars & Lounges Celebrity truly excels here. * Ice Martini Bar - creative, fun atmosphere * Ensemble Lounge - my mom's favorite, relaxing and classy * Sky Lounge - my top pick with rocking chairs and panoramic ocean views * World Class Bar - excellent craft cocktails, comparable to high-end land bars Dining * Tuscan Grille - phenomenal food, great wine, and impeccable service * Sushi on 5 - fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared with great signature rolls Fitness & Spa The gym was well-equipped, though rounded dumbbells aren't ideal on a moving ship (they roll). Hex dumbbells would be safer. The spa was gorgeous and offered a serene escape. Pools & Decks Both indoor and outdoor pool areas were impressive, with plenty of loungers and several hot tubs. Even with a full ship, it never felt overly crowded. The Not-So-Great: One Bad Restaurant, an Older Crowd, and Poor Excursions The Porch - Not Worth It This premium outdoor restaurant was a major disappointment, especially at $40/person. * Weather was cold, yet we couldn't cancel without losing our $20 deposit per person * Lobster bisque was burnt and flavorless * Lobster roll was mostly bread with barely any lobster I would not recommend this venue. Crowd & Entertainment The demographic skewed very old--around 75% of guests were 60-70+. Entertainment and activities were geared toward that age group, resulting in a slow, dated atmosphere. If you're under 50, this cruise will likely feel boring and lacking energy. Weather & Ports: Mixed Experience We had unusually bad weather (not Celebrity's fault), and it heavily impacted port days. Bimini, Bahamas Snorkeling was canceled, and the "town" offered almost nothing--no real shopping, limited food options, and a generally rundown feel. The resort beach club may be nice, but the rest of Bimini felt like an unnecessary stop. I wouldn't return. Cozumel Another canceled excursion, but Cozumel at least had shops, bars, and restaurants, so we still enjoyed the day. George Town, Grand Cayman - Stingray Excursion Disaster This was the worst experience: * Our excursion boat broke down upon arrival at Stingray City * We sat nearly an hour as the crew tried to fix it * After being towed, the crew focused on getting us in the water rather than arranging a replacement boat * We were stuck almost two extra hours, missed the included lunch/drinks, and barely made the last tender * Celebrity initially resisted issuing a refund, which was very frustrating Overall, this excursion was a mess from start to finish. Overall Verdict The Celebrity Silhouette has many strengths: a beautiful ship, amazing staff, excellent bars, and truly outstanding food. For travelers who enjoy a calm, classic cruise with a slower pace, it could be perfect. However, the very old crowd, unengaging entertainment, disappointing ports, and one awful specialty restaurant made this sailing a mismatch for me. If you're under 50 and looking for energy, culture, or adventure, this itinerary won't deliver.
