Great drinks list for beer, wine, cocktails, and mixers. Great menu...the pizza has in house made crust and sauce! I am so glad this place weathered the pandemic storm of 2020. In fact, we used the outdoor sections of this place even in the mask wearing days. They would turn on outdoor heaters and a large flatscreen to let us enjoy a semblance of normalcy during difficult times. We owe it to these types of small businesses to show them love now that normalcy is returning. Do I play darts or cornhole? No. But you can, because they have the supplies. Do I play the jukebox? Yes, frequently. I hope you enjoy the tunes while we all enjoy the drinks, food, ambiance...and golf of course. The golf. (Which you can ignore, as it is in a separate part of the venue.) But check this place out and realize there is another hidden gem in Grandview. Fore! Or pour (more beer).

Unfortunately, what should have been a great experience turned into a complete disaster. My order was over $200 and included 9 items, yet only 1 item was delivered. When the Uber driver arrived, he explained that the hostess told him everything he picked up was the entire order. It clearly wasn't. Because such a large part of my order was missing, I was forced to drive 35 minutes to the restaurant myself to fix a mistake that never should have happened in the first place. What made the situation even worse was the attitude I received from the hostess when I arrived. Instead of taking responsibility, I was met with excuses and a dismissive attitude, which only added to my frustration. The only bright spot in this experience was the manager. Since the rest of my food had been sitting there for over an hour, the manager apologized and remade the entire order. I genuinely appreciate how professionally the manager handled the situation. That said, a Father's Day meal shouldn't require a second trip, an hour-long delay, and a confrontation just to receive the food that was already paid for. Extremely disappointing experience.

First visit to Jay's Crab Boil & Oyster Bar after seeing it recommended on Instagram…read more We ordered the Peach Margarita with a sugar rim, the Shrimp Tempura Crunch Taco, and the Philly Cheesesteak Taco. Our total before tip was $30.95. A few quick positives: the restaurant is much larger inside than it appears from the outside, parking was easy, and there was plenty of seating available. We sat on the outdoor patio, which was quiet and made for a great place to have a conversation. Service was friendly, attentive, and prompt throughout our visit. The atmosphere feels like a seafood house mixed with a sports bar, with fishing nets hanging from the ceiling, TVs throughout, and plenty of booths and tables. The Shrimp Tempura Crunch Taco was definitely the standout visually. It looked exactly like something you'd stop to photograph before taking a bite. Unfortunately, the eating experience didn't quite match the presentation. The seaweed shell was very firm, making it difficult to eat comfortably, and the rice tasted more like plain white rice than sushi rice. A few pieces of the tempura shrimp were also cold in the center, which was noticeable. The Philly Cheesesteak Taco was the stronger of the two tacos. The steak was seasoned well, flavorful, and easily the best part of the meal. While the taco itself didn't leave a huge impression, the quality of the steak would make me interested in trying other steak-based items on the menu. Overall, this felt like a menu concept that prioritized creativity and presentation more than flavor and execution. That said, nothing about the restaurant itself turned me away. The patio was enjoyable, the service was solid, and there was enough potential in parts of the meal that I'd be willing to come back and explore more of the menu. I wouldn't reorder these particular tacos, but I would return to try something else.

I never complain to this extent but we were pretty disappointed…read more Me and my husband came here to celebrate something very special to us. I ordered a mocktail asking to remove an ingredient, the server seemed confused telling me the drink wasn't on the menu until I showed her on the menu in front of me. I also asked for a water. Drink showed up 10-15 mins later with the ingredient I asked to be removed, and no water. We had to wait 5+ mins for straws after the wait for drinks. My husband is very plain with his food and asked for a plain bacon cheese burger, burger showed up with a ton of things on it. We asked for it to be fixed and when it came back it still had guacamole on the bun. Finally the manager came and once we explained the situation he quickly fixed the burger completely and took care of a chunk of the bill which we were very appreciative for although we hate to even have to have that happen. The cost is never the issue to us, and we're willing to wait for our food especially on a busy night such as tonight. We were going to get dessert but decided against it after the service and food mess ups. Very grateful for management there.

After our reservation time had passed by five to ten minutes, my husband inquired about when we might get seated. Rather than cordially explain the delay, the hostess snapped at him and defensively said that we arrived early and it was only a little after 6. We were the next party seated and hoped for a better experience. Our waiter was lovely when he greeted us. He promptly took our drink orders and also offered to take our food order if we were ready. We were. Hubby got a burger, I got a salad. I asked for oil and vinegar instead of the dressing the salad came with. It took a while to get our food - but the place was busy so I understand. The waiter said my salad was ready but the burger was not - asking if he should bring the salad. I'm a slow eater so we said yes. I have no clue how this is possible but the kitchen was not familiar with oil and vinegar dressing and was unable to provide it. ???? Unreal. I opted to eat my salad dry - which I often do so no big deal. When the salad was brought out it was BAD. The chicken was OK but the green and other fixings few and far between. My husband's burger and fries were fine. He ate every bite. I need to add, the only reason we ate at this restaurant was because we had been at Lazy Boy right before which is located in the same hard to navigate area. The parking lot in that area is a mess and the entrance and exits are a bear. Given the whole package - we will never come back to this restaurant. Granted, I've had worse experiences in recent memory (unfortunately), but the trifecta of average food, crappy location and snarky staff sealed this deal.
