They are quite helpful with what they do know, but it is few and far between. If you have a choice and have the willingness to travel, go to the West Marine on NorthBound Tamiami Trail in Punta Gorda just over the bridge. The associates are more knowledgeable and the inventory is much greater and more varied.

He also helped out my husband out with an exchange. We had gone to a previous 5.11 at a different location and the other associate gave some recommendations for our exchange issue on his pants. These did not remedy the issue and actually made it slightly worse. Not totally his fault, as he was just trying to help out. But all in all, super happy with our experience today. It's a specialty store, they have what you need and they have it here in your community. Get over the price! Finally, went to the store in Punta Gorda yesterday. It was staffed by two children. I know, makes me sound like an old guy, which I am, but still these two very young people with absolutely zero boating knowledge provided absolutely zero help. At least the young man stayed to listen to me ask questions which he couldn't answer, while the young woman simply walked away as I approached. I have bought rope, chain, fittings, plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, life jackets, stainless fasteners, you name it. Only reason it is not a five star is their pricing is a little high, but I save time and gasoline by shopping there.
