I had a BBQ here once I had to get here early and they is information on when you need to reserve a spot. I see that they installed EV charging units with solar panels. This is an upgrade because Electric Vehicles weren't able to get a charge before. Believe it or not, this place provides opportunities for kite flyers, if I'm not mistaken, I may have flew one here once. The bathroom were decent but people over packed the trash cans around the track which is very unattractive but hey, it takes Every Kinda People, to make this world go around, Robert Palmer said that, I didn't. There are no sharp inclines or steep, rocky hills. I like to walk these trails to admire nature and all it's worth. The lake that I came across while walking today made me want to jump in and swim(not sure if that's allowed). Aside from the trails, there are other little playgrounds in the area that might appeal to children.

The best part that I enjoy in this park is it marks the start/end of the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway trail path, it is historic, a scenic trail for walking, running, and biking, a beautiful, green space that offers a break from the city, and the paved path connects it to other parks. The trail path extends about 3 miles which makes it a 6 miles trekking distance out and back. In most weekend mornings, there is a great chance that you might see me walking/biking on this trail, so, see you there.

No, I'm always one of those type of people when I go somewhere. I really be looking out for things…read morethat could be improved and what I notice is there has fencing around all of the kids toys where nobody can have access to the toys so people cut the wires and bent them back and it seems that the part doesn't care to fix those problems! The kids seem to have fun at their two or three squirt/pad that they've had compared to other parks this is a little ghetto, but the rest of the park seems to be awfully nice considering the amount of money that they probably paid for the benches versus making the kids portion of the park, upgraded and better! This whole plot of land has so much more potential than it's given! Given the conditions of the park, I have to give this a place of three! There is too many children hazards that the park could fix, but they don't! And don't come at me saying that the cops don't know because I've watched them patrol. It's about 5011 times and they ain't said nothing about nobody going inside these fences to play on these toys so I'm pretty sure if they know about it. The city knows about it, but who am I besides a tourist in this big New York City!

Love this place…read more I've been coming this park now for about 7 yrs now. It has been without incident or hesitation. Prior to moving in the neighborhood I used to come to use the bike path and enjoy rides around the pond. Now that I live close by I come to run. I absolutely love the scenery. The park is always very clean. The pond appears to be quite murky but I was informed by a parks and receive worker that it is a actually necessary for the species it hosts. By the look of things the animals (ducks, swans, geeese, fish, frogs) are quite happy making it their home. The park has a bike bath and a running path. Since neither has been clearly labeled or designated it's up to park goers to use their discretion. The park has clean benches where you can sit and enjoy the pond scenery, two kiddie parks, a field which I've seen hosts the likes of concerts, soccer games, cricket matches, rallies and family reunions. The park does have brand new bathroom facilities but they seem to close them prior to 4pm which is inconvenient for the average person wanting to use it after work. The entire space is well lit and safety has never been a worry for me as it is also very populated during the hrs I've used it been 4 and 8. While this park is not ideal for cooking out etc, there are about 4 grills that are strategically placed near the picnic tables and is a neighborhood jewel. The perfect getaway at the end of the day or the best way to start your day.

On August 15, 2026, I attended the Kings of Kings Foundation's family event at Baisley Pond Park Extension. The event itself was wonderful, but the condition of the Parks Department bathroom was SHAMEFUL. The bathroom lights were completely out. You practically needed a flashlight just to see inside! The bathroom smelled strongly of urine and feces, it was not properly cleaned, and two stalls had no toilet paper. What bothered me most was seeing little girls and other children having to use these nasty bathrooms during a family event. Families should not have to choose between using an unsanitary restroom or trying to hold it for hours. Where was the Parks Department employee responsible for maintaining these facilities? I didn't see anyone maintaining or checking that bathroom. No one was in sight. If these bathrooms were opened that morning for public use, someone should have been responsible for making sure the lights worked, stalls were cleaned, toilet paper was stocked, and the facilities remained sanitary throughout the day. Last year's event was NOT like this, which makes this year's conditions even more disappointing. I'm not asking for a luxury restroom. I'm asking for the basics: working lights, toilet paper, cleanliness and regular maintenance. The NYC Parks Department needs to investigate what happened and hold the appropriate staff accountable. If an employee was assigned to maintain these bathrooms and failed to do so, management needs to address it. MIXED BAG THIS VERDICT: BRUTAL Community Event: AMAZING Bathroom Cleanliness: Maintenance: Working Lights: Parks Staff Presence: Our children, families and community deserve clean, safe and functional public facilities. All of this due to the eminent domain approach to the removal of dog owners and our pups from the grassy field we've been congregating and socializing at for years. This radical decision left many of us, the non drivers mainly, without a open space to run our dogs, share a laugh, catching up with those whose company we look forward to being among. All to build and preserve a wack tee ball field for little kids that a year and a half later -- the munchkins have yet to materialize. But the slow arm of the parks department finally began construction on a cleverly designed new dog park, albeit too small being thin in width and short in length. The project looks to be about single digit completed after almost two years which burns my butt a bit, as private industry would have wrapped this up in weeks but as with much of my life -- a grin and bare (bear) it, smile and wave approach and reluctantly accepting this tired, old and dirty cities inability to do anything on time and on budget.

Right next across from there you have a decent size hand ball court. But one of my favorite attraction is the the running track. There running track is really nice ,the turf is perfect for running, jogging or just walking. If like Iike sitting down and relaxing, you have some benches with a decent amount of shade from the trees. And last but not least liberty pool that is attached to the park .one of the best swimming pools in queens ,hands down.
