They truly care about their students and create an environment where kids can learn, grow, and enjoy being at school. Today was a perfect example of that. My daughter was having an especially difficult morning, and Miss Rickman met her with so much patience, kindness, and understanding. She took the time to reassure her and completely turned her morning around. By the end of the day, she came home happy and proud of herself, and as a parent, that meant more to me than I can say. I'm incredibly grateful for Miss Rickman and for all of the teachers and staff at Lighthouse who have cared for and supported my kids throughout the years. We couldn't be happier with our experience here.

My son loved being in her class, and I truly appreciate the positive impact she had on his kindergarten experience. Our middle school teachers were mostly excellent. They were supportive and genuinely invested in helping students grow. Both of my daughters did well academically but neither were challenged enough despite being in exceptionally small classes. One of them consistently earned A+ grades with very little academic challenge and often felt she wasn't being pushed to reach her full potential. She also shared concerns that, on at least one occasion, a teacher provided answers or significant hints to students who had not prepared, which she felt was unfair to those who had put in the effort to study. When you pay for tuition, you expect some individualization especially in a small class size of six... My biggest concern with the educational experience was the amount of screen time. Students spent far too much time on phones during the school day. When work was completed, there seemed to be excessive time spent on phones rather than participating in additional educational or enrichment activities. Unfortunately, our experience with the administration and business side of the school was very disappointing. Communication regarding important enrollment details and policies was unclear, and when issues arose, there was very little flexibility or willingness to work with our family. It often felt like the focus was on enforcing financial agreements rather than working toward a fair resolution. The teachers deserve recognition for the care and dedication they show their students, but the school's administrative and business practices left us with a very negative overall experience.

A final sign of an exceptional teacher is a love for teaching and truly caring about students - which she clearly does. I did not get a single call, email or did anyone try to reach out to me from school today to tell me about this incident. Instead, I get an email from her teacher about her not finishing her 3 coloring pages she was given during class time. The same class time she got sexually touched? I wouldn't finish my work either! When I brought it up to the teachers attention about what I was told, she told me she was AWARE of the incident, told administration and assumed they would have relayed the message. NOPE! Not only did the teacher NOT bring it up to my attention, but ADMINISTRATION couldn't either??? She said "it was being handled appropriately" I'm sorry, in what way? Because as the parent of the child who got wrongly touched, I would've expected a call regarding a boy and inappropriate behavior! But I received nothing! In the 3 months she's been at this school, I can get an email over her talking and not finishing her work. But I can't get an email when another student touches her in a way no 7 year old should EVER be touch? In first grade? My girl having to tell me about what other kids are doing to her at this school?
