"I question how effective a tutor can be at this point to help [your child's] grade. I quote my daughter's AP Calculus teacher from Vista Murrieta High School. In March of this year, my daughter was receiving a failing grade in the class and not once before this month were we contacted by this teacher who obviously does not care about my daughter's performance. Since I know at this point that this teacher's neglect will lead my daughter to failure, I decided to give Mathnasium a try. This was the best decision I've had for the 2019 school year. Under the leadership of Zac Bosworth and his team of highly skilled, knowledgeable and encouraging tutors, my daughter regained her confidence and was inspired to use her inner strength to do what needs to be done to turn her grade around. With hard work coming from both my daughter and the tutors, it took only 2 weeks to return to the right path. Despite discouraging words coming from her teacher such as "I would predict that she will do poorly on that test." and "If she is not going to do the work and if she is not going to come to see me for help, then there is not much that I can do." Fostering a negative attitude towards students is a method obviously applied by this Vista Murrieta High School AP Calculus teacher, who in my personal opinion should be fired for incompetence. It took my daughter 1.5 months to prove this discouraging teacher wrong. With Mathnasium's help, knowledge and positivity, my daughter passed the National AP Calculus Exam with a 3 out 5 points. After the failure of her teacher to mentor and teach her for 66% of the semester, she was given the chance to achieve the grade she wanted. Thank you, Zac and team. My 3 children were attending 2 of them for over a year but ever since the management change it has gone downhill. Tiffany is not flexible nor does she see the bigger picture of helping children. It's about the money! My oldest got further behind than when she started. So sad and disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this specific Mathnasium to anyone! read more

Breaking this down Barney Style- The apple does not fall far from the tree-- My "Mini-Me" has it tough when it comes to the numbers game. Frankly I have to say and I stand on this-- you really only need the 4-basics of math to get through life addition, subtraction, division and multiplication-- That is unless you plan to be a mad scientist or work for the IRS.. All other math is to fill in the gaps at school and drive parents crazy because we hated it as kids, we don't want to repeat it as parents. "Oh, that must be the new math" or "Go ask your father" or :Go ask your mother"... Right?! Thank goodness there is Mathnasium. I called all the "tutoring" places in Temecula- and there are a few----prices can be up down and all around and there are lots of catches.....they want a fee for testing, for placing, contracts, only open certain days, limited hours or you pay extra for the hours- blah blah blah-- We spent a fortune on Sylvan and Kumon for our boys and frankly they still suck at math and they are in their 20's and in college- gosh wish we had a Mathnasium back then. Mathnasium- $195 a month! for unlimited tutoring that's it. Auto debit each month and Mini-Me can go as often and for as long as she wants. Its a win win and $195. is not a lot for unlimited hours . They are open M-Th 3p-7p But its not the price that sold us as parents its the results and the stress free child we now have. Mini- Me ended her 1st semester of 6th grade with a D- teacher said Summer school, I said not so fast buddy and isn't it a little to late to wait until summer. I love my child, and didn't want to see Mini-Me suffer with all that frustration and stress over one school subject she just didn't get. -- Hubby and I said- we will opt for tutoring, so in Dec on the first day of holiday vacation she was at Mathnasium, she has gone every day except Friday-Sun when they are closed-- she loves going, she has blossomed under this tutoring style and MATH MAKES SENSE~~ And she has as of today's grade check 3/2/12 a B in the her Math Class. Now you do the math D- to B in less then 3 months.. Now, doesn't that sound Dreamy wonderful? no nightly fussing, crying, begging, pleading about the homeWORK and I am talking to YOU PARENTS- because you know I am talking about us-we all do it the whiny begging bit and finally give up... Seems to make the home-life a whole lot nicer, right? I mean for $195.00 is money well worth spent!. So now my Mini-Me gets all other homework completed and then we go to Mathnasium for Math homework and test study. Oh and the teacher- ya-- first wanted all problems to be worked out in the brain, so the complaint now is SHOW your work on the paper. Really? have you nothing else to say ? maybe- a long the lines of HEY great job you are improving or wow tutoring has really helped-- NO we get -I want to see your work to make sure your really doing it-- isn't that why you give tests IN CLASS? My son loved Mathnasium. I felt as though this was the solution I needed to help him. We were both excited. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the unlimited pricing being a single parent with one income. I asked for alternate solutions several times with difficulties getting a response. The end result was that they wouldn't work with me to help my son. That is their prerogative of course but I was disappointed for my kiddo who needed help. read more

I agree with other reviewers about Travis' dedication to his students. He developed a loyal following because he was available late mornings as well as afternoons. His private tutoring fees were affordable and he clearly explained math to my son who has a difficult time grasping new concepts. My son finally felt confident in his math class. Now, unfortunately, the new owner has very limited hours, and the tutors give my son just a few minutes of their time each session and expect him to work on his own. It's not working. His last math exam was a huge disappointment grade-wise, so we will look for a different establishment. Does anyone know where Travis moved? read more

As a parent who has always struggled in math I was hoping my children would have a better grasp of it. Unfortunately that was not the case. I am so incredibly grateful to the staff at Mathnasium for their patients and diligence in teaching my children that math does not need to be difficult and showing them the correct ways to understand it. Upon enrollment my children entered with low math scores and grades, almost two years later they have maintained a B average. read more

Going to mathnasium has been very helpful for me at school. I've been going here for four years already and this establishment has helped me everyday with my math homework, studying for tests, and thoroughly understanding the lessons. I am currently taking AP Calculus B/C in high school and the people who work here have helped me greatly. There are a lot of challenging questions in which I have to complete for homework and I never leave without being fully helped. Because of this place, I always come to school understanding the lesson and having my homework correct and completed. My math teacher even told me how he has seen how much I've improved in class; I've been getting really good grades on my tests thanks to this program. We loved it when Travis was the owner. He was very kind and pleasant with the students. Our daughter loved going there to boosts her math. Sadly Travis is leaving. His last day is today , June 30th. I spoke to the new owner and welcomed her. She was very arrogant. The next day I dropped my daughter , she usually goes 3 times a week for 2 hours straight. After an hour an a half the instructor told my daughter that's it's time for her to go home. My daughter was surprised by the rudeness of owner. Texted me to pick her up. I came and spoke to the new owner, Heather Pastoor asked her about the changes. She brushed me off and just said " I'm the new owner and things will work out differently". When we signed with Travis it was unlimited time. June was still under Travis. Apparently this new owner has no customer service skills. If she was professional she could of told my daughter ; I understand the confusion. Today we will let you do 2 hours. When your mom picks up we will inform her of the changes. Instead Heather really I enjoyed putting our daughter in a very uncomfortable position and did not bother to be professional when I walked in. We will look for a new place. I tell EVERYONE about this place. My daughter was struggling in math since she was a toddler. I have had to meet with principal's, counselors, etc, because no one could figure out why she was so good in English and so horrible in math. I tried everything. She is now in 3rd grade and I put her in Mathnaseum right before school started. After a few months of Mathnaseum, my daughter is doing division, and she knows all of her multiplication tables. I am SOOO HAPPY I could not thank Scott more! My son who is in 7th grade is going there now as well. Although he has always managed to get B's in math, now that the math is getting harder, he started struggling. Putting two kids in Mathnaseum is not cheap, although I get a sibling discount, but it's WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!! My children go Monday through Thursday for 90 minutes each day, and they LOVE IT! They never put up a fight, or complain. Scott and his team know what they are doing and I'm SO VERY THANKFUL for them!!!!! read more

24 years since my last alegbra class and Travis and his team worked hard to ensure I passed College Alegbra. My work schedule is a bit crazy so Travis would open his doors on Friday so I could receive tutoring. The Mathnasium team showed genuine concern about getting me to understand and pass my class.
