Chicago A+ just charged me over $1000 to change the intake manifold which didn't even need to be changed. Eric kept my van for 1 week going over everyrhing to find the problem and researching all resources. The problem was a loose plug. This young man is so polite and so considerate. Gave me a ride home the first day and picked me up so I could go to the bank and get my van. Charged me $130.00 for sealing the plug and all his work to find out the problem. We had the car towed to E&R transmission and left the van in a parking space and key in the drop box. He called me immediately the next morning letting me know that I would need a new transmission which I was prepared for. He gave me what I felt was a very fair quote to repair the van and had the van ready for me to pick up on that Friday. I was at their mercy having never used them before and simply having the car towed to their shop. I could not be happier at how I was treated, the cost of the repair and the friendliness I received from start to finish. I plan on making E & R the auto repair shop I bring my vehicles. The tub was badly rusted, and could not be removed from the radiator end without damaging the radiator. He gave me the option of replacing the radiator and cooling line or putting in a separate cooling radiator which was about $250. Less than replacing the radiator and would give better transmission cooling. Even moving appointments is not a huge problem. Staff are friendly and accommodating. They have a nice waiting area and will text you as your car moves through the service process, but will personally come get you when it is time to depart. There is no respect for the customers who are trying be keep safe. I will give one star for the one hand sanitizer that was out by the check out but there is something wrong with that. I called and described the problem and was told to bring it in so they could lift it and check it. I go in on a Friday afternoon and didn't have to wait much. The guys were polite, professional and understanding. An honest mechanic is a beautiful thing. Or, at least, a mechanic you really trust is, I've probably had honest mechanics before, but there was always that one hard to describe service need that you must have. Afram who worked on the car came back and said i needed new brakes and gave me a brake down of the prices to the penny. I don't remember last time i was given detailed pricing by a mechanic up until the end. He said if i did decide to do it it will be done by end of day. After they called me that the car was ready i picked it up and they showed me the old parts that they took off. From what i saw they are trying to get a good reputation in the area by giving reasonable prices with quality work as if the cars were theirs. I have few cars and i will bring them back here and see if they are still reliable as they are now, keeping in mind to informing yelp of any updates. They were good to their words on the time and the cost, and I've never had a problem with the repair since.
