Try to keep this from getting TLDR. I guess the short story is this place did great work…read more I bought a used car years ago, it had a "performance" muffler on it. After putting up with the loud exhaust for a couple years, I was done. I went to a place that was closer to me at the time, and they put a stock muffler on it. Still had a little rumble, but told not much to do about it. Job well done, or so I thought. Few years later, I start noticing a rattle on startup. It's not bad, it goes away after warm up. I carry on. Few months ago, it gets worse, still goes away, but I think I might have a transmission issue. Friend of mine I'm telling about it said he had the same thing once and he had a broken bracket on his exhaust system. I get under and see this mess. Cracked welds, pipe separated from the muffler. Also, they didn't install a mounting support above the pipe, probably one of the reasons it broke. Well, not going back to that place. I did a little research, and Big Johns looked like the best place. Little out of my way, but I wanted to make sure this time things went better. I believe John was there when I arrived, and had another guy who worked with him. I mentioned the whole problem, plus said it was still a little loud. He suggested a slightly bigger muffler, plus he installed a bracket support where the other place hadn't, and also redid the other two supports that were in place. The new supports were obviously more heavy duty. It did the trick. Also, I noticed my car was running better and a couple of issues had gone away. Car is now running like it did before all this started, and it's the quietest it's ever been. Charged me $200 and it was well worth it. At this point, I'm pretty happy. Be aware that when I was there, they only work on one car at a time. I don't know if he utilizes the other garage bay, but they work fast. It took maybe 30 minutes or so to do the job.

Let's just say it turned out much worse than when I started. The paint looked dull, cloudy, and nothing like I had hoped. After realizing I was in over my head, I reached out to Frank on Facebook just to get a few estimates. Within minutes, Frank called me, asked about the truck, and even came to my house to look at it in person. He took the time to explain exactly what went wrong, what it would take to fix it, and what I could realistically expect. He never tried to oversell me or pressure me. His honesty, professionalism, and genuine customer service are what earned my business that same day. What impressed me even more was that once he started repairing my DIY mistake, he discovered it required more work than he originally expected. Even so, he honored the original quote without hesitation. That kind of integrity is hard to find these days. I got my truck back the very same day, and I honestly couldn't be happier. The blue paint is a perfect match, the finish is deep and glossy, and you can't tell where the repair ends and the original paint begins. It looks factory new. If you're considering having paint or body work done, do yourself a favor and call Frank first. I learned the hard way that sometimes DIY ends up costing more in the long run, but thankfully I found someone who truly cares about doing the job right. this customer was not a customer of ours in the first place and was already upset due to the amplifier being broken that they had. upon a direct referral from alpine electronics to come to my store we received a phone call to help an alpine customer out again not my original client. we then said we would handle it, and we did in fact handle it. alpine has a flat rate for out of warranty repairs which i believe at the time was $125.00 then you factor in shipping $15-$20.00. the you factor in 10 min phone call to the district office i'd like to thank them for their help. then a week later we get an ra document to send the item in for repair. then a 2-5 min phone call every two day after the amp was dropped off at my store. then you factor in boxing the item labeling the item, then you factor in driving to don's box & mail to pay and ship the item, then you factor in the 5-10 min phone call when the amp arrived to let them know as well schedule a time to re install the item. then you factor in the time to remove the item by removing the driver front seat opening the hood, removing the fuse to the item, then removing all of the connections and four screws into to floorboard, then taping off all of the bare wires, then reinstalling the front seat so at a min 45 min - 1 hr. then when checked out i talked to the son broke down all of our fees and he paid without question and left with his amp working smiling and listening to his system. then you just have to factor in all of the phone calls after they decided and again already upset the amp broke already upset the road trip from cali where they lived without music. i get it your upset. but i didn't make the amp or sell it to you or instal it in your car i helped you for my friends at alpine. then we received phone calls from alpine and the dallas office to discuss this customer issue. alpine was explained to the whole case and they were in agreement with our fees for all the work. now then a 4 chanel amp instal is $75-$125.00 depending on where you go and you see the bulk of an amp instal is pulling the seat, working under the seat putting the seat back in and then fine tuning the amp to the clients needs. so i figure half of the regular instal price would be more then fair and meet in the middle at $50.00. we were already walking into a bad situation with a long drive without music they paid extra for and all we can do is help he who ask. we spent lots of time on this as well the money paid to alpine and shipping. we feel this is just an upset client that was looking for someone to lash out at. and most importantly it shows you that we not only warranty our own products & installation but we support our manufacturers and their warranty and will continue do so so now that you know we do bring your warranties here we will handle it however you like however we will do this by the book and with invoices and tracking numbers so you will know everything i do with your product under manufacturers warranty or not we will help you. thank you so much for reading!!! read more

I had a problem with my Tundra that affected the back up camera they installed as part of the stereo. They got me right in and found the problem. Even though it was not an issue with the equipment I purchased or the installation, they fixed the problem at no cost and got me on my way with no charge. That's what I call service. When the dealership failed to identify a blown fuse and told me it was my aftermarket device (the camera), Jim found the OEM fuse, replaced it free of charge, and recommended I contact the dealership to get a refund for the service call (which I did). He doesn't try to upsell, and his installs are clean and nearly invisible. He will also sit down with me and walk me through how my aftermarket devices work. I recommend this business to every person I meet who needs a dashcam installed. Absolutely worth it!

I ended up going for the more powerful bass option so I didn't have to go back in 6 months . The best part was the fact that he got everything installed & I was out the door in 2 hours, same day. Jim even fixed a rattling issue I was having a week later, nothing wrong with the equipment, just needed to put a little longer legs on the sub box so the subs weren't hitting against the floor mat in the back of my truck.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are well and in good spirits. I preface this by reminding all that…read moreI am aware of my fortune in this world, in this time. Sun is shining, I have food in my fridge, life is sweet, so this is not the end of the world, just a review of a business. Pulse. I have used this business in the past, and my experience was good. I had an SUV that had no rear glass tint. Boom, done. Monday I went to ask for a quote on two cars. One needs to have the tint replaced. I used to tint windows in the 80s, I know materials have changed since, but it isn't a reinvent of the wheel. The purpose of tint is to reflect heat, but still provide a clear view. I was shown the levels of films they offer, chose the first level ceramic, at $249, plus $120 to remove the old tint. Tint removal is a 20 minute process at most, to an inexperienced person, but they can charge as they charge. I was okay with it. This morning is my appointment. I am on time. We go back over my selection, and I am now told the film I chose appears "hazy". I was told the film priced at $349 and above are clear. Wait Whuuuuh? Would be like going into a brake shop, and they offer 4 levels of pads, 2 that just barely stop your car, and 3 more expensive, that work. Why on earth would any business selling tint, even advertise a substandard product that appears hazy? Visibility is the main priority with cars having windows to begin with. Not aesthetics, safety, our very lives and the lives of others we share the road with. Why bait anyone with lower priced films, you already know are subpar and "hazy", just to then upsell products that should be the starting point to begin with. Like selling me eyeglasses, and saying you won't be able to see out of these at this price, to see, you will need to buy these. Tell me that on the day I am shopping around, not the day I am dropping the car off, and I would have more than likely felt you are being upfront and honest. For me, that is the part that was offensive. You wasted my time. I am retired and have lots of nothing to do with my time, and that, I worked my butt off for decades to get to do. Most people still out there in the grind, know how precious down time is, and how valuable a price we pay in your career to get to a place of peace and free time. I have zero time for bait and switch artistry. None, Zero. Tell me up front. Or how about this, don't sell anything you wouldn't consider clear. Dark tint can still be clear. Hazy should be unacceptable as lives are on the line. And why an even $100 jump between each level? Are the materials so vastly inferior as to cost $200 more between level 1 and 3, or 2 and 4? That is clearly just marketing, not product value or cost associated. Once again, you can make enough to keep the doors from closing, but not enough to explode your business and eventually expand. Why? This is the DFW metro, and there are way too many in the segment. So be honest the first time. I was calm, respectful, but mostly livid on the inside. I remind myself I have food, water, shelter. Besides, it is a convertible, when I am in it, the windows are down and tint not a factor, because I am inviting the sunshine in. For me, I so wanted to get the car done, and blast them with a 5 star rating. But for me to get up at 8 a.m., wake my son up, who is in exams, and have him prep to pick me up, only to get there and be hit with a switch? I cannot recommend a business model that would even try that on a 59 year old me. Maybe when I was 30, but back then I was still tinting my own cars. Well I own a blower to pull dust out of my garage, and razors, squeegies, and Youtube for the latest tips of tinting. I have Jeff Bezos with vendors selling top grade film. I would sooner do it myself than ever deal with that again. As always, please do not see this as an indictment of their business as a whole. What works for one, may not another. Never write off a business on one review. Venture out to that place for yourself, with an open mind, and see how your own experience goes. I try my best to root for small businesses. But they have to support us as well. If you made it this far, give yourself 5 stars. You could have been doing anything else, but you read this, and for that I am grateful. Now I have to get back to doing retirement. I need a cup of coffee before driving across town to another tint shop I have used in the past. Never an issue other than the 35 minute trip I have to make. Take care of yourselves. Be safe, be happy, be loved.
