6 months after getting all 4 pads replaced we took my daughters car back in due to excessive squealing. Sawyer Tire CarX Bolivar, quoted us an additional $750 to now replace calipers. Took it to 2 other shops who said "that is the worst brake job they have ever seen" and to "get a full refund". Nothing was greased. Pads were slapped on and only making partial contact. Pins were ceased. and one caliper bracket should have been replaced then. Due to this, all 4 pads need replaced again, because of the pads not sitting properly 2 rotors need replaced. and the caliper which other shops have said would have had to have been seized at the time they put the pads on judging by the wear in the minimal amount of time. Would not recommend CarX. read more

I brought my truck in for a tire rotation and an oil change. The shop completed the oil change fine, but did not do the tire rotation. (My passenger wheel has rust on a few of the fake beadlocks so I know where it is at all times). After the rotation was "complete" I noticed that the wheel was in the same place. I asked the manager about why it was not done and he blew up and refused to talk to me. Additionally, they put a large chip in my rear wheel that is almost brand new. I tried to show them pictures that I had taken right before showing that the tires had not been rotated and the wheel was not damaged before. The manager blew up and refused to do anything for me. I would definitely not recommend a shop that lies about completing something as simple as a tire rotation. read more

Great service, great employees=very happy customer! I took my 93 year old mother's 1999 Buick in for a service light issue. They got it in and did a diagnostics check on it. It was a simple vapor issue with the gas cap. They aired up her tires and told me there was no charge!!! You just don't find this level of service anywhere these days. We were on a long road trip and had a flat just a few miles from Sawyer Tire. I knew all four tires were close to needing replacing (shame on me for not taking care of it before our trip). The tires for our car are uncommon, and they didn't have them in stock. So, we rented a car and left our car to have all four replaced. They did so quickly and with such friendly service. The price was about average of any other place. But they held onto our car for the week and kept it inside the whole time. What a great place. If you ever have need of tires anywhere near Bolivar, Missouri, Sawyer Tire is the place to get them. read more

ALWAYS ASK FOR YOUR PARTS BACK BC THEYRE LIARS!!! I wouldn't ever go to Car-x again and those that have similar issues to what I'm about to say please report to BBB because it's totally uncalled for!!! So I take my car in to have the wheel baring fixed they called me and said that the caliper on the passenger side needed fixed, the brakes were fine, new tires and brake flush.....oh and that it's going to be $1032 to have all work done. Well I get there to pick up my car and the total is now $1432 . Say what? Well for starters they added new brake lines on each side of the car (notice above I wasn't told about this, they said they ALWAYS DO THIS EVEN IF THEYRE NOT BAD), they aligned my back tires (they weren't even working on the back end, again I wasn't told this would happen)...we go on to pay bc well what else to do when you're no longer living near there and the cashier is tell me of road side hazard and lifetime bs on certain parts blahaha like they give you these things...oh but they don't indeed you pay per tire for these wonderful things I would of rejected. I contact their "customer service" about my coming of almost $500 over charge in case yall was wondering....I asked for my parts back and they said they would get them to me and well I still sit here empty handed without my parts....and their district manager is suppose to contact me but then just email CS lady and basically says I can go f*** myself by not contacting me at all to resolve anything! oh you should also know while they were working on the back end where they shouldn't of been they broke my bumper and their insurance onlypays for 1/4 of the repair costs!!! The BBB have been contacted hope they had fun ripping me off and not handling their issues like they should of!!! I received a coupon in the mail and noticed that this is now a Car-X Tire and auto so with my $19.99 oil change coupon I thought I'd give them another try. Sawyer Tire in Bolivar saved me this afternoon. I found a nail in my tire and called them 4mins before they closed, on a Saturday and they said come on in and they would fix my tire. I am so appreciative of them due to I am set to leave on Sunday for a new job location and wouldn't have made it there with the nail. Thank You for staying late!!! read more

The employees at Sawyer's are very friendly and welcoming, as well as social. For those of us who are young and/or inexperienced in the area of automotives, they do a fantastic job of explaining what's wrong with your car and why it costs what it does. If you live in the small-town area between Springfield and Bolivar, and consider going to Springfield for a mechanic for the availability and variety, I highly suggest going to Sawyer's. Even if you lived in Springfield, I would suggest going to Sawyer's. It's worth the feeling of security that is hard to hold on to in the mechanics in Springfield. They've got the honesty and friendliness of a small-town mechanic, and the expertise of a corporate mechanic. read more

We went to have a tire patched. It was close to closing time, but they got us in (and even people after us!) and really cared about our issue. Even though it was a small repair, they were happy to help! It only cost around 15 dollars, which is another reason I am so impressed. Many places wouldn't have taken on such a small, inexpensive, fix so close to closing time, because they sure didn't make much profit. I am very pleased and thankful. We will return when we need to purchase new tires!!! read more

They did do the job they were supposed to do and I was mostly happy with that. What I was NOT happy with is that Kenny is a very argumentative person. When I drove away there was a thud noise in my car, that was new and wasn't there before. By the time I figured it out, it was after 5 p.m. and I do not live in Bolivar with this as my only transportation at the time. I called to make another appointment to have it fixed as it had to have been something they did or didn't finish doing correctly. When I called for the appointment, they said they would fix it, but there was a lot of trying to direct me to another mechanic (for safety). I had to get this guy back to the point, which was getting an appointment, as I'm not stupid. Then I finally found the problem. They had not tightened down all the lug nuts, which wasn't hard to figure out after the first three lug nuts. Noise gone after taking the tire off and getting the lug nuts back on secure. When calling to cancel the appointment and telling them the issue. All I got was argument and defense. Kenny really needs to take care of the customer and this arguing is a serious enough issue that I won't be back no matter how good the other work is. This is not the way to do business. It was an obvious failure on someone's part, that could have ended up very badly. Instead of arguing about it, the right thing to do would have been to say I will definitely talk to the mechanic about it and try to rectify this on our end. Then gave me a call back with an apology. All I got was this is not possible as we do this, this and this and this. Well, obviously, THAT wasn't done! I don't believe they care about the customer, they care about being defensive of their work. read more

I've tried doing business with them 3 times. First time it was front end alignment and new tires on the front. They messed up something so I'll have to buy parts to get another front end alignment done. Then I bought a tire from them. They stripped the threads on the center cap of my rim. Then I tried to buy tires from them. I called several places to get quotes. They quoted me $286 for 2 tires. When I called them back to set a apointment for them tires the price jumped to over $600.
