I never knew if I was doing anything correct or making progress. Cara gives instant feedback and encouragement throughout her classes and workshops. What I love most about her classes is how she challenges you, but doesn't push you (if that makes sense?) She will challenge you to try new things and connect with your body, but doesn't judge or make you feel bad if your mind/body isn't ready. I am so glad I found Cara Fraser and her great little studio. I do yoga all over but one thing you don't really get from the big classes is individual attention or a break down of particular poses so I was happy when I found her intimate studio with personal attention. She offers affordable workshops that focus on pose series (we are on arm balancing) and building blocks (hello, do you know how often I wondered if I was actually doing a pose correctly?). I was a complete newcomer to yoga when I took my first class with Cara and was also nursing a recently hip injury from running, so I was rather nervous to see if yoga would be for me. She reached out a few days in advance of our session to see what my concerns were, what I was looking for our of our session, and any special considerations she should keep in mind. I was really impressed and touched for her to do something like that! Not only that, but when I came into session we spoke about those concerns and she made me feel completely comfortable about speaking up if a movement didn't suit me so we could adjust it. Her instruction is quite easy to follow so I didn't feel like I was falling behind at any point and I actually had a lot of fun! I just took an amazing class at Cara Fraser Yoga. I was a little nervous as I had never taken a workshop before and had no idea what to expect. This was a "blindfold" class that touted "would enhance my yoga practice and intuition". It was, to say the least, a beautiful experience! Cara has a private studio that feels warm and welcoming the moment you walk in. The class size was small, four of us, so it felt intimate and personal. Cara is such an amazing instructor! She has a quiet demeanor about her and leads with confidence and grace. In this blindfold class, we went through the sequences with her as she gave clear and precise instructions. I've been a fan of Cara's teaching style for some time and I am so glad she is teaching out of her home studio conveniently located in downtown Fullerton. I have enjoyed having Cara as a yoga instructor for the past 2+ years. She provides excellent coaching to help me become stronger in my practice. By encouraging me in a positive, nonjudgmental way I have become more confident in myself. She truly cares about her students. I have had the opportunity to participate in two of Cara's yoga retreats. My first was in Fallbrook, CA in October 2016 and my second was a Tuscan retreat in Italy in October 2018. Both of these retreats were exceptional! Cara is organized and thoughtful in putting together the agenda. I had not traveled by myself prior to these retreats. The retreat in Fallbrook was a local weekend adventure while the Tuscan retreat involved international travel. In both cases, I met wonderful people who I can now call my friends. Cara is organized and puts much time and attention to make sure the participants feel pampered. For the Tuscan retreat we stayed in a villa where meals were prepared for us. In addition to doing yoga, we were treated to day trips to Pisa and Siena where we had personal tour guides. I met Cara a few years ago when she started teaching the 6 am class at Yoga Sol. When asked about Cara's classes I can always say there was something new and fun incorporated. Cara is constantly searching out new knowledge in the practice of yoga, she never stops learning. In addition, you can tell that she really cares about her students the moment you walk in the studio. It's so nice to be greeted with a warm smile at 5:45 a.m. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make her six am class for about a year. I sure miss it. In the past year I have had some back surgery. As soon as I agreed to work with Cara, the fear of working one on one hit me. I assumed it would be extremely uncomfortable. I distinctly remember the first yoga class I took with Cara because it was different than classes I had taken in the past. She was warm and friendly, and I instantly felt comfortable (I think I told her most of my life story after that first class!). I enjoy all of her workshops/classes/privates because of the "come as you are" atmosphere that she creates. I never feel intimidated like I had with other teachers in the past. She provides just the right balance of class instruction and individual attention, and supports building strength slowly and safely, through a variety of poses. That variety, and the creativity she brings to each class, along with her positivity and encouragement, are what I appreciate most. Cara is great at cueing poses and movements in a way that helps me bring awareness to my body. Many times, just by listening to her cues, I am able to make adjustments and self-correct my form, which almost always brings about an "ah ha" moment! My yoga practice expanded and improved by leaps and bounds with the individualized instruction, and she managed to give us each just the right amount of challenge, despite the fact we had different levels of experience.
