As someone who has competed in powerlifting and strongly believes in the Loma Linda lifestyle philosophy, this place the perfect fit. The Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment are also excellent and incredibly well maintained. I've lifted at dozens, if not well over a hundred gyms throughout my life, and yet this gym holds such a warm and special place in my heart. Ignore the negative reviews; in my experience, many come from people who never truly integrated into the community that makes this place so unique. I'm leaving soon for the next stage of my medical training, and I'd be lying if I said I won't deeply miss this place. Thank you, Vim + Vigor, for giving me some of the best friendships of my life and for being a community that continually pushed me to become better every single day.

I came in tonight to take advantage of the 3-day free trial and was honestly really excited to…read morecheck this gym out since I just moved to the area. In my confirmation email, the only instruction was to bring my ID, which I reasonably assumed was for identity verification or account setup. However, when I arrived, the front desk associate (Viviana) asked about the address on my ID and, after I explained that I had just moved, told me I would need to go to a different location based on the address listed. I want to be clear--I completely understand if there is a policy requiring proof of local residency for a free trial. That's not the issue. The issue is that this requirement was not communicated beforehand, and more importantly, the way it was handled in person was extremely unprofessional. Viviana had a noticeably dismissive and unfriendly attitude from the start. When I tried to clarify my situation, she spoke over me and did not make any effort to provide clear or respectful communication. After going back and forth, she eventually offered to check with a manager. I agreed and asked her to do so, and when she returned, she said I could work out for the day--but the delivery still felt cold and unwelcoming. I also requested a tour, which she provided very briefly and with minimal effort. She pointed vaguely at different areas without explanation, and I ultimately had to walk the facility on my own to understand what was available. It's unfortunate because the gym itself is great and the other staff members I encountered were kind and welcoming. I still plan on joining because of the location and amenities, but this experience nearly cost you a new member. As a business owner with over 10 years in customer service, I know how much front desk interactions matter--they set the tone for the entire brand. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because the service I received from Viviana does not reflect the quality of the facility.

She is also a veteran and was a pushing hands champion before she retired from competition. The teacher of the continuing classes is a Master Level teacher who has been studying and practicing t'ai chi ch'uan since 1970. There are several levels of students. Beginners work together. First part of the class are warmup exercises and ch'i kung (qigong) exercises. They are used for flexibility and range of motion as well as traditional health exercises were done. The curriculum is the same as was taught at Loma Linda University Drayson Center in past years. This curriculum was studied by researchers at Loma Linda University and found to significantly improve the balance of seniors and Diabetic patients with Neuropathy. Beginners work together and do basic drills that help their balance as well as learn the first form. The teacher keeps reminding students not to do anything that hurts. Continuing students work in groups and study more advanced forms. The class is one hour. At 7:15 there is an T'a-chi ch'uan Application and Pushing Hands class. That class taught the meaning of the movements in the form. The teacher was adamant that students need to understand what each movement means in order to do it properly. He also teaches pushing hands and sticky hands drills in this class. Small class with mainly advanced students. Low intensity, no falling as most of the people in the class are Seniors.

I would highly recommend checking out a class.
