This is the iconic spot to get those delicious pastel de natas!…read more Of course, you will come across these famous desserts all over, but I'm honestly so glad that I held out for a day or two until I could try these. They were seriously so good! And it sort of made my first bite more of a whole experience. Yes, the line here can be a bit long. But again, I think in a way it sort of added to the fun/overall experience of it. Considering the popularity, I don't think the wait was too terrible. Would I come here every day or every time I wanted pastel de nata? No. There are countless other spots that are amazing too! But I feel like this one was worth it once! The nata came out nice and warm, with a creamy flavor, a fluffy but firm texture, and a caramelized sweetness with bit with that hint of eggy savory-sweetness, too. The crust was flakey. I decided to eat inside and I also feel happy with that choice. The decor was cute and very "Lisbon"- lots of blues and whites. I also ordered a latte which was nice and had whipped cream with cinnamon, which paired really nicely with the nata actually.

This is the birthplace of the delicacy Portuguese custard tart (pasteis de nata). While you can…read morefind find these tarts all over Portugal, this is a must try when you visit The exterior is slightly modest, but is also absolutely gorgeous. It's well-lit, and something about it beacons you over. Maybe it's the line stretched out the door. The interior has beautiful blue and white tiles. The staff are all busy preparing tarts, helping customers, etc. I don't know why, but it feels like a shop right out of Harry Potter with the colors and almost antique beauty. The staff are dressed in dapper uniforms. Each person has an air of serious, yet charming, and sophisticated. For a place that pretty much has the same routine all day and services thousands of Hungary and demanding tourists, the staff were friendly enough, and very efficient The packaging was gorgeous. Again, it reminded me of a delicacy or to-go parcel you might get in the wizarding world. The tarts were delicious. I tried several egg/custard tarts in Portugal, and this is one of the best. While at least one of location in Sintra has my #1 pasteis de nata, this one is probably a close second You can order a variety of sizes/amounts, and the carry fairly well. There are also other treats like cakes, hot chocolate, etc Some tips: They have cinnamon and sugar you can put on top of your tart if you want to add to the flavor You B don't have to takeaway, and in fact it might be quicker service if you walk past the initial line and counter and head into the restaurant where you might be able to snag a table and eat your tarts on site Located near a couple incredible Lisbon landmarks you will want plenty of time to stroll around Belém and see the sites. It's a vibe, and a must do in Lisbon Cheers!!

I have never come across such a rude, arrogant and hateful man in my life. PLEASE AVOID this…read moreoverpriced tourist trap like the plague! I have often stopped at the bar despite the arrogant staff, as it does have a beautiful view point. However, after tonight never again. Enjoyed a very pleasant evening with friends until we asked for the bill, when we received it, there was a bottle of wine that has been bought to the table in error, it was not opened and the waiter acknowledged the mistake and took it away, it was though charged on the bill. They had also missed a glass of wine, which we also pointed out. The bill was €106.40 and should had been 90.40. I have no problem paying for what I have ordered, although I would also point out that €20 for a bottle of Planalto is absolutely outrageous! In "Paparucha's", a very nice steak restaurant a few doors away, it is priced at just €12 and even the extremely touristic "A Brasileira" only charges €13! So back to the dispute, they would not accept what we were saying, and they threatened to call the police if we did not pay. We paid the €90.40 and walked away. We actually then went back as was so astounded by their attitude and behaviour. We asked for the complaints book, they delayed a long time in getting it and then said they were going to call the police again, we said go ahead. They said we could not have the complaints book until the police arrived. The police did not appear and reluctantly we were given the book. It would seem there were quite a few complaints already. Apparently we are now barred, as if we would ever go back! Disgusting behaviour, please do yourself a favour and enjoy the view but don't bother with the kiosk. I believe that there is another kiosk in the lower gardens, so go there instead!
