Hubby and I went to Cardinal yesterday. Cocktails were great! Food was very good, and I expect that since we always visited their prior location. This location is much better!! So roomy that you don't feel crammed in at all. Great bar when you first walk in and in the dining area a second bar. Service was impeccable, can't ask for any better. Looks like it will be a fun place to hangout in the summer due to the setup outside. Try this place you won't be disappointed.

We have been to it plenty of times in our over 30 years of visiting AC and we have never been disappointed. The ambiance is cosy with nautical themed items decorating the walls. They have limited seating in the small establishment, with the best option being sitting at the counter at the window to people watch while enjoying your seafood items. We are always greeted by pleasant staff. They have daily specials and feature a seafood case filled with a variety of fresh seafood items that you can literally pick and they will prepare in store or you can choose to purchase to go. Our go to is the flounder and fish platter, which comes with house made slaw and fries, and either a side of fried clams or oysters. The platter also comes with a canned soda, which you get to pick the flavor choice from the beverage case. We always enjoy our food in store and are always luck enough to grab a few seats. The flounder and shrimp platter was fresh and crispy, with a light coating that did not take away from the delicate taste of the fish and shrimp. The slaw was fresh and an ok side. The fries were crispy and nothing was greasy. The oysters were fried well and when bitten, popped with a nice, fresh taste. And don't worry my MD folks, they have Old Bay to dust your food (which I really appreciate!). We suggest coming as soon as they open or call your order in ahead of time to avoid the long line that forms. All in all, our go to seafood spot when visiting AC.

We came from St James street and that was the backside...our server Michelle was great. Hubby enjoyed the duck wings and chicken sandwich while I enjoyed the shaved brussel sprouts salad and cauliflower steak. I'm always excited for excellent vegetarian options. Hubby had two beers and I had glass of wine. All of that totaled $110 which was a great value. I would recommend them for food, service and vibes. Huge outdoor space too so I imagine fun summer vibes too. Give them a try!

Good, good, good, good, good…read more I would give it 4.5 stars but that's not a thing so I gave it 4 stars and 5 goods. The girls picked this place, I just wanted to eat but I'm glad they did. It was a bit tricky getting into this place because maps told us to go to the backside of the restaurant and there was no entrance there but there were signs saying go here for this and go there for that but we figured it out, obviously. Soon as we walk in they seat us. There are a few others dining but it's not packed. There's a lively group sitting behind us and that's fine because it's daytime and it's meant to be lively. The setup was such that there was a constant draft. I don't really like drafts where I eat because too much can blow through and the food cools down faster but it wasn't that bad but it is why I didn't give it 5 stars. It was a little chilly that day also so that didn't help. It wasn't cool enough that we needed a jacket on but with the draft, maybe we should've put them on but who wants to eat with a jacket on? I ordered the chicken and waffle but substituted for french toast. The french toast was so good that there was no reason for syrup at all. The french toast was cooked perfectly and wasn't dry and already sweet so you didn't need syrup to make it sweet or to soften it up. It was perfect as it was and the eggs were light and fluffy. What does that even mean? Light and fluffy eggs? I heard that somewhere so I repeated it, lol but if I knew what that meant, I'm sure I would say these were that. Regardless, they were good. I love eggs! Please try this place. You will not be disappointed.

So BEWARE when / if you decide to pay them all visit and call the phone number or the Claridge directly to ensure they are open so you won't find yourself in the same situation we were in.

(*Oh, and NO WAIT - we were running behind on time) It was truly a hidden gem because it was tucked away inside of the same hotel that hosted a comedy show. The seafood pot pie was so good! Yes, we did ask for a second basket and Yes, we DID finish it! I wasn't a huge fan of the Mac and cheese (something about the cheese sauce didn't sit right with me), but everything else was awesome! I opted for outdoor seating on a perfect late evening, and it set the tone beautifully. There's something special about this spot - it sits away from the boardwalk's noise and chaos, offering a much more relaxed, genuine dining experience. I tend to gravitate toward the same order here, and for good reason. The crab cakes are outstanding - generous with the crab meat, full of flavor, and absolutely worth the price. I paired them with a Caesar salad, a solid combination. I also ordered the fried shrimp platter - the batter was spot-on, the portion was generous enough that we couldn't finish it, and, impressively, it held up well into the next morning. That's always a good sign. Don't skip the jar drinks. I went with the cucumber basil, and it was wonderfully refreshing - the kind of drink that just fits the vibe of the place perfectly. The service was prompt and on point. If you're in Atlantic City and looking for a break from the loud, touristy strip, Back Bay Ale House is where you want to be. One of my absolute favorites in AC - I'll keep coming back.

We both ordered the steak specials. One with cucumber salad the other with cole slaw. Although the steak was cooked to temperature it was not of good quality. It was hard to cut because there was so much marbled fat between the meat. Only the one steak was fatty the other was fine. The sides left little to be desired. The cucumber salad was soggy and had a bitter taste. The cole slaw had a sour taste and was inedible. Based on the other reviews, I guess this was just an off night. I just thought management would like to know about our experience. Reading the positive reviews was the reason we decided to dine here.
