Unreliable, unprofessional, and overpriced. I was a customer for 2+ years and the last 6 months were terrible. If you want to pay $300+ for one hour of cleaning on any day or time that Cardinal chooses each week, then you've found the right business. Here's the last cleaning I had with them: less than 24 hours before my scheduled cleaning they canceled and asked if they could reschedule for the following week (if a customer cancels within 24 hours, they charge $50, but if they do it, no discount for the customers' inconvenience). I asked if they could find another crew and sometime sooner than a full week later. The next morning I saw a crew had been scheduled on my account and my credit card had been charged even though I never heard back so I contacted them and they told me they couldn't find anyone that day and it would be Monday at 1:30/2:00. I said okay. On Monday at 11:40, they tell me they'll be there at 12:10 -- they don't even ask if they can come earlier, they just assume that someone is home and waiting to adjust to their schedule -- I can't imagine they would have accommodated me if I had called and told them they were coming an 1.5 early with 30 mins notice because my schedule had changed. I ask them to wait until 12:30 so we can make sure someone is home. They come, and they're in and out in an hour. 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, kitchen, dining room, family room, living room, 2 sets of stairs....in an hour. The next week they contact me to let me know my previous cleaner has quit, and their prices are going up by 50%. I don't know if there was a change in ownership this year, but this unfortunately wasn't an unusual or out of the ordinary experience with them from the last 6 months. read more

I hired Cardinal Maids for a move-in cleaning. I figured that going for a flat-rate service would provide ample time to pay extra attention to the few things in my empty house that needed it. However, the three items - bathtub, backsplash and cabinets (for which I paid an extra fee) - were poorly cleaned and I had to do them myself later after all. I called and received a refund on the cabinet cleaning fee. In regards to the backsplash, I was told that wasn't something they typically addressed depending on total time spent in the residence. To reiterate, it was an empty space so there really wasn't much else to do in the residence. It really ended up feeling like I paid $150+ for someone to mop and vacuum my floors. Not a good value, do not recommend. read more

I'll try them again at least once more to see if they're better but my deep clean apartment service was pretty good overall. I understand mopping is hard on my old wood floors but unsure what was done that made the clean "deep" for the extra fee as it wasn't my baseboards. The organization, surface cleaning of counters and my stove and bathroom was good! The team was requested to be punctual but was over half an hour late so I went to work and then had to leave work to let them in my place. The two women were friendly. There were a couple paper towels and cleaning disposable sponges left on my coffee table and in the kitchen. Total for deep clean for two bedroom apartment was about $190. There was no mechanism for me to tip the cleaners. read more

Can't express enough how horrible of a service this was. Very disappointing as the customer service team and booking process was great, but the cleaning itself was unprofessional, rushed, and horribly done. Considering this was over priced compared to other services and I paid for a deep clean - I truly cannot believe how unclean my house still is. Not only that, but when the maids were here, they only cleaned things I had to point out to them - doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of hiring a cleaner? Despite what they had listed on their website of what would be automatically included in a deep clean, essential things were not done like vacuuming and dusting. I have had them for a year. The first team was very good (but left the company), the second team had issues, but management worked with me and eventually assigned a third team who are really great! Their rates are competitive with other cleaning services and the office manager is very attentive. Also, over the year NOTHING has been broken (a frequent problem with cleaning services) and everybody is extremely honest. read more

C.M. works with me adjusting to my schedule. They do so patiently and kindly. I have now enjoyed the services of 2 of their teams. Both teams (usually 2 people) are kind to my 70 pound energetic and curious dog, Daffodil. They both set to work, efficiently and quietly, turning my dusty home into a clean, calm place of peace. My spouse and I decided for Christmas to get a deep house clean for each other, and man, it may have been the best gift ever. There were two professional young ladies who arrived promptly on time at 9:30am (and sent a text reminder when they were on their way). They scrubbed the entire house until after 12:30pm. They did not miss a single spot! I don't know how the two of them accomplished so much, even though they were here for a while, it is very impressive. We are extremely pleased and our house looks almost brand new (which is saying a lot, it was built in 1899). This is our first house cleaning, we don't usually spend money on things like this, but it was well worth the cost and we are talking about making it an annual thing. I loved my appointment with Cardinal Maids -- I booked a one-time cleaning, and plan on using them again soon! Booking was incredibly easy. I requested a time, the manager texted me to let me know that while that time wouldn't work, there was another available. On the day of the appointment, the team arrived right around their 9:30am time. Melissa asked to have a look around the house so they could make sure they saw everything up front, and asked me if I had any particular parts or jobs that I wanted them to focus on (for me, dusting is my nemesis -- and they definitely handled it well!). She and Rachel were efficient and thorough, and left my house sparkling clean. My husband and I are happy days after with the cleaning job they did. It felt so good to have this done for us, and free up several hours of free time! My only question is something that popped up when I was booking-- though there is flat rate, transparent pricing on the website, which is great, there is also a "tip" option when booking. I've only ever used independent house cleaners in the past who had an all-inclusive, no tip policy, so I'm not quite sure how this should work when working with a company. This team worked hard, and I hope they are being compensated well -- personally I'd rather have that built in to the flat rate, but if not, an option to tip after the service would be helpful. read more

Both times, the teams called to tell me they could come early and arrived right when they said. They did an awesome job, especially for the move-out clean. The online scheduling platform is also extremely useful whereas some other companies require you to submit an inquiry and cannot guarantee a time/day until they call to contact you. The staff was very friendly and It was super convenient to book online. But with that being said, they only did an Okay job. What was really lacking was the thoroughness that I expect from hiring professionals. There were spots on the floor that weren't mopped, the sink handles had cleaner left on them, the shower still had spots of shampoo on the tile, etc... I had to go back and do those things myself. So if you are in a pinch and need a quick clean up they are fine, but you'd be better served to hire another company or do it yourself. read more

We have been with Cardinal Maids for 2 years now. They did the first deep clean of the house after we moved in during a snow storm so there was salt tracked throughout the entire house. Their cleanup of that convinced my husband and I to have them come on a routine basis. I deeply appreciate that we have had the same team and same team lead this entire time. It has been so easy to communicate with Terah. She keeps very consistent stand and has been great to work with. I know people worry about having strangers in their house but I have had no problems , nothing has ever gone missing or been broken, they were amazing about texting me when I was on maternity leave to let me know 30 min before they arrived. It's really easy to book online, & they have straightforward pricing that made clear exactly how much I'd be paying & for what. My first time booking, I also found a $30-off Groupon, which brought down the cost a little - though I knew it would absolutely be worth the full price. The morning of my first appointment, two cleaning ladies arrived a little bit before their scheduled time of 10:30am. They even called me to tell me when they were on their way! I was afraid it might be awkward that I'd be there the whole time, working from home, but they told me they'd clean my office last so that I could work throughout their cleaning. I put on a headset to take my morning call, & I mostly couldn't hear the vacuuming at all. The whole thing only took about an hour. They dusted, swept & mopped the floor, scrubbed the sinks & shower & toilet, & even took out the trash. When they were done, I stood in my living room & basically just twirled around like a princess in love with her castle. Everything was so freaking sparkly-clean. There were no tumbleweeds of cat fur blowing in the ceiling-fanned breeze, no jam-like residue tracked in from the mulberry tree in our front yard, no slivers of carrots & onions on the kitchen floor that sometimes escape my fiance's cooking creations. It was like our home was a hotel. Truly, I can't explain how happy I was to stand barefoot on a freshly vacuumed rug, sunlight streaming through the windows, & take in this spotless apartment. My roommates had left our apartment a bit of a mess so we definitely needed a cleaning service and Cardinals Maids did a great job. I liked being able to book online for the sake of convenience and was able to find a date relatively soon. The two women who came to clean the place were friendly and made the apartment look superb. Overall, the cleaning was excellent! I only have two points of issue. I've tried to arrange for a cleaning multiple times and was later told each time that my desired time slot was not available despite appearing so on the website. Also, my apartment is very cramped but since it has two bedrooms, I was charged the same rate as would have been a large house. I wish the charges were instead based on square footage. read more
