They had tennis courts for pickle ball and a good open field for volleyball, corn hole and fowling. There were about 6 rows of about 4 side by side picnic tables under the shelter. We needed the shelter while eating since it down poured some today. There is a small parking by the tennis court and school, another on the other side of the playscape and a bigger one by the school, but it was under construction.

This park has just about everything and is huge. It has a large parking lot, tennis courts,…read morebaseball/softball fields, 2 playgrounds, some covered pavilions, and in inline hockey rink. There is also a paved walking/jogging trail. The covered pavilions have picnic tables under it, but I do not think there are any grills. You will have to bring your own. The park appears kind of old and is relatively maintained. It could use some lawn care. The two play grounds are on opposite ends of the park from each other, along with the pavilions. One play ground has older equipment. The other new playground (by the high school) is bigger and has more modern equipment. It has a huge jungle gym with slides, bridges, and poles. There is also a set of modern swings, a set of regular swings, and a dome climber over there as well. The older playground has a very small metal slide (ouchhhh, on those hot summer days), and two sets of worn swings that have seen better days. As an added bonus, the park has a couple of restroom facility and paved paths that could be used for walking. They are not very long so you would probably get bored running up and down them. The baseball/softball fields are world class and have lights. I think they are used for Allen Park rec league ball mostly, but can be rented. The same goes for the inline-skate rink. The park is located in the backyard of Allen Park High School and I found it hard to differentiate what facilities belonged to the park and which belonged to the school. This is a nice park and definitely worth a visit or planning a special event at. Whether it be a baseball tournament, tennis match, picnic, party, or walking your dog. It has tons of stuff to do.

And I can't remember ever having a Uniroyal on my many vehicles. The Uniroyal Giant Tire was built for the 1964 New York World's Fair as a Ferris wheel styled structure. They have 2 picnic shelters that looked almost brand new. The grounds crew came out before our event, and ensured everything was clean at the site. We would definitely host another gathering at this park.

I thank my Yelp Bestie for an annual membership pass that she won for two people. I am truly grateful. This was a prime time to turn lemons into lemonade! We decided to check out the DaVinci special exhibition, shop the Museum Store and have lunch at the Plum Market Kitchen, too. The DaVinci exhibit was amazing. I had no idea of how many inventions Leonardo DaVinci made. I was only familiar with the Mona Lisa painting and the Safety Bridge. The Room of Mirrors was pretty cool. After driving 40 minutes, we were then told they gave the gym to another group 2 hours before. No one called us to let us know about the changes. A total of 18 people had to go home with the staff not even apologizing ones. They also conned us into getting their gym membership without telling us about the universal membership. Our group play in Patton and ABC and have never found any issues with them. Purchased a membership with Patton and I had to do it again for kemeny because the staff didn't tell me I could have just upgraded to universal which lets me use any of the gym in Detroit. ABC was kind enough to tell me that I should have just bought the universal pass. Their level of communication is atrocious this facility needs to be checked by their employer

Definitely recommend purchasing tickets in advance since Holiday Nights sells out. We came on a Tuesday before Christmas. Good crowd. I love the wagon rides, Model T rides, ice skating, brass bands, carolers, and more! We started our night by stuffing our bellies. The Philly steak from A Touch of Honey was delicious! We enjoyed some festive cocktails - spiked cocoa and mulled wine. We were able to explore the post office (still active). Individuals had the ability to purchase post cards and mail them domestically and internationally. Next stop was learning about Edison, seeing his original work, and electric cable artifacts that come out once a year. I loved seeing the chemistry lab and learning about how lower manhattan first was lit up. Lots of stops to stand or sit by a firepit, enjoy mini donuts, and more drinks. Highly recommend especially during the holidays.

The buildings were fantastic, the history, and employees stationed around were eager to share stories and the history of each place. It also seemed like the employees here were well tenured as the ones whom I asked had worked here for a really long time, and really enjoyed their jobs. So, you can go through this place in a day, but if you really wanted to deep dive into the buildings etc., you would need to plan to spend maybe 2 days here. I am not from the area, so 2 days was not an option, so powering through was THE option for me. Still a great full day of exploring, the few downsides for us on this trip was that a lot of the buildings which I would have loved to see were under maintenance, however I also appreciate that they maintain these buildings so well! Lastly, we picked up the ride pass as we wanted to ride the train and model T, we asked the cashier how long the wait would be for these and she said rides have about a 10-minute wait or so. When we got to the model T, the estimated wait was about an hour and 20 minutes, so we thought we would head over to the Train depot, but the train was closed as they were setting it up for a nighttime event. They refunded us for this portion so really can't speak badly about it. Overall A+ experience.

A variety of classes are offered 7 days a week but unfortunately this past Sunday's were cancelled due to some special event they had (website's schedule is up to date). To book a class is super easy; choose which class you want and it tells you how many open spots are left. You pay via credit card and receive an email confirmation. Upon arrival you just go to either of the studios where the classes are held. I booked a spin class and the instructor came up to introduce herself and asked my name and said she saw it on her roster. As for the class, it was very good and the instructor (Jill) was super nice and chatted with her a bit after. Facility is very clean and the bikes were in excellent condition. The only con is it is very hard to find as there is no signage indicating where the center is located (you see the theater upon arrival). I stopped and asked what appeared to be some city road/construction workers and one was able to give me directions. Saw the building with a huge parking lot and assumed that was it as I saw some people going in who were in workout gear and carrying gym bags. Once you initially find it you are good to go and know what/where to go.

I just received an email from Dearborn Parks and Rec regarding my gym membership. I've been a…read morefaithful member of this gym for several years. It's understandable that they need to raise the rates but it's more than a quarter higher than what it initially used to be. In addition to that they're charging a $40 nonrefundable enrollment fee. All these cost combine make it un affordable for the majority of people in the city. I can see increasing the rates but to add a $40 enrollment fee for something that takes the lady behind the desk 30 seconds to issue. Your enrollment fee is ridiculous. I will be seeking my membership elsewhere and it's such a shame because the facility itself is beautiful, although I'm also frustrated with staff that they don't enforce handwashing or wiping down the machines after use so increasing risk of staph, Mrsa, and other illnesses and disease
