Well this is the interesting thing to see. It's just a big old giant tire on the side of the road. We were driving by and I saw this and I said this was on my yelp list that I wanted to try and visit so here we are we didn't know how to get over there but I saw it from the expressway took a lot of pictures and I see that this big giant tire is there to represent something I'm not really sure but it was kind of cool to see it was peeking over all the trees that were there and you know it was just kind of cool to see you I was like well cool there's a big giant tire over here so drive down the expressway and you'll definitely see it

The giant tire reminds me of Barbie's anatomy. In terms of its size, and how many people have seen it. The giant tire is amazing! One of the great symbols of Detroit and a lot of people don't even know that it exists. When you're driving in or out of this area and you see this huge thing it really symbolizes what this city used to be and what it still is in a lot of people's memories and to some extent, what it is today and may be again someday. If you're an extreme optimist, that is. It's hard not to love it, but it's hard to get a good picture of it at 2 in the morning when you're doing 83 miles per hour. But try it! (Don't try it. I'm kidding. Do as I say not as I did on Yelp.) And if you get kicked out of Buckingham Palace, then you are no longer Royal. You are UNroyal. I guess that's where these guys got their name.

The thing I like best about this, the World's Largest Tire, is driving by with people who are new to town and saying "That's the World's Largest Tire!" Then they inevitably murmur something like "wow" or "oh cool." So, it's not the most exciting landmark, I mean it's not the world's largest corn dog or anything, but it still makes me happy to see. Although I really miss the nail that used to be in it. I found it added some additional whimsy.

I'm a fan of the Uniroyal Giant Tire is its official name. It is a great landmark of Metro Detroit. It was shipped to Detroit where it was reassembled without its passenger gondolas in 1966 as a static display at the Uniroyal sales office. When the sales office moved the Landmark stayed thankfully. I just think it is a neat Detroit monument and its history. If you're in town definitely worth the drive by to see it. According to its conflicting history, its height is 80-86 feet tall and weighs 12 tons. It was used at the Worlds fair in 1964. The gondolas were removed and not placed back on it after the fair. The Uniroyal Giant Tire has had a couple makeovers over the years.

As a novice of woodworking, I was blown-away by the intricate woodwork and finishings throughout the home. The three ladies that lead our tour of the home shared many interesting details about the property, its restoration, and details of Clara and Henry's years at the estate. Many of the restoration stories, like finding a tub for Henry's bathroom or how Clara had a section repainted white were intriguing. Even though much of the home, especially the second floor, is still being restored it was a fascinating experience.

There wasn't much actually open amongst the majestic-looking buildings while I was there, but the picnic area was hopping. The signage was bilingual-in English and Arabic-and what appeared to be a Yemeni wedding seemed to be taking place. The juxtaposition of the estate of an industrialist (or robber baron, or visionary, or racist, depending on your point of view) with a distinctive immigrant community makes for a striking reflection on Americana. The grounds include some gardens, and a lake with a path around it. Access to the river is limited, but it didn't look like that impressive of a river. The greenery is more worthwhile.

I ordered the chicken bacon flatbread and Tito's with pineapple, this was around 6:20 PM. It's now 7:43 PM and I have YET to get my food. EVERYTHING the other members of our party ordered that came out was ice cold. I am at the bar inquiring about my food and they are saying the kitchen is severely backed up, but when I ordered there were not that many people here. And you can't tell me they are back there hand twirling pizza dough, so not sure what the issue is. I came to the bar to try to ensure that when my flatbread comes it is not ice cold after an almost two hour wait. It FINALLY arrived...and was ice cold. I asked the lady if they could put it back in the oven/microwave what the f**k ever they are using to make it, she agreed and said it would be ready in two minutes .she brought it out about five minutes later and it was ...kind of warm. I was over it at that point and accepted it because I was drinking on an empty stomach. The flatbread was decent but definitely not worth the 2 hour wait. Bowling itself was fun, the lanes were clean, no malfunctions and plenty of balls.

It had…read morebeen a while since we'd been there, and while the kids had a good time overall, we were shocked by the cost--especially for parents who aren't even bowling. We paid $11 per child for an hour of bowling, plus $8 each for shoe rentals, which we felt was reasonable. But what surprised (and disappointed) us was being told that we had to pay $20 each just to be in the building with our kids--even though we weren't bowling. Our boys are six and five years old, so of course they couldn't bowl alone, and we couldn't just leave them there. It honestly didn't make sense, and it felt like an unnecessary charge. So for just one hour of bowling for two kids, the total came to $67--and that's before even touching the arcade. To be fair, the manager was understanding and did give us two $15 arcade cards, which our sons loved. That gesture was appreciated and helped soften the situation. We did have some issues during the game--balls got stuck, the scoring system glitched, and we had to wait for staff to fix it, which took away from our play time. Unfortunately, the system doesn't pause your session when this happens, so time was lost while waiting, and that felt frustrating given the hourly rate. One highlight: the cosmic bowling ambience! With the glowing lights, music, and fun energy, it's a really exciting environment for kids and definitely adds to the experience. In the end, while the kids had fun, the overall experience felt overpriced. I hope they reconsider charging parents who are simply supervising young children. For now, I'd say it isn't worth it not to bowl.
