Ok, so this place was so awesome! I had no expectations that there was as much going on here, as there was. Apparently, we lucky to go during a slow/off season time, parking was easy! The buildings were fantastic, the history, and employees stationed around were eager to share stories and the history of each place. It also seemed like the employees here were well tenured as the ones whom I asked had worked here for a really long time, and really enjoyed their jobs. So, you can go through this place in a day, but if you really wanted to deep dive into the buildings etc., you would need to plan to spend maybe 2 days here. I am not from the area, so 2 days was not an option, so powering through was THE option for me. Still a great full day of exploring, the few downsides for us on this trip was that a lot of the buildings which I would have loved to see were under maintenance, however I also appreciate that they maintain these buildings so well! Lastly, we picked up the ride pass as we wanted to ride the train and model T, we asked the cashier how long the wait would be for these and she said rides have about a 10-minute wait or so. When we got to the model T, the estimated wait was about an hour and 20 minutes, so we thought we would head over to the Train depot, but the train was closed as they were setting it up for a nighttime event. They refunded us for this portion so really can't speak badly about it. Overall A+ experience.

We parked at Greenfield Village using the voucher we purchased in advance, Across from the Ford Museum & part of the complex is the outdoor Greenfield Village spreading across 80 acres. It was dedicated in 1929 & opened in 1933. This was the 1st outdoor museum of its type in the country, and became a model for subsequent outdoor museums. Here I saw reconstructed original historic buildings shipped in from all over the country. I could've spent a week here. There was so much to see, it was fascinating. For an additional $20 per person we could take a ride in the model T, a train and horse and carriage. The Wright Brother's airplane workshop &Thomas Edison's laboratory from Menlo Park & his Ft Myers laboratory are highlights here. The weaving, pottery, printing, glass, silk mills, plantation demonstrations with costumed interpreters were overwhelming. The Ford corner was filled with fascinating artifacts from a windmill to his theater, School, Model T loading dock...

Great service. Bella was very polite and always had a smile. Food was delicious. The tea was very tasty. Loved eating in courtyard.

Greenfield village is open from 9:30 to 5pm unless it a special holiday. It is over 80 acres of history and fun. They are also part of the Museums for All so you can pay $3 per person for tickets if you have WIC or SNAP/EBT. I think that is super amazing that they offer opportunities to everyone. They also charge $7 for the train ride and it takes 30 minutes to go all the way around. You park strollers and wagons in a parking area. They do have rides on carriages and Model T cars as well. When we walked in, we decided to go to the working farms first. We saw a lot of animals. They had two cute little piglets in the back area. We also walked around and saw a variety of historical buildings. One of my favorites was the Wright brothers. They had tons of little shop areas to eat food, custard, and candy. They even have stores where you can shop any buy things such as pottery. Overall, we had a great experience. If you want to eat indoors you can walk through the museum hallway and go to the Plum Market

We decided to rent electric scooters ($25 each) on a hot August day. Excellent move! I would have NEVER been able to enjoy the day on this huge property without them. The landscaping is beautiful and well cared for by the staff. Everyone is terrific. There is so much to see. Plan on at least a couple days if you want a deep dive into history; especially if you also want to go to the indoor museum.

It can take a couple of days to tour this place, it seems! The employees dress in period clothing band are all over friendly. We loved our time here. Be prepared to walk some, everything is spaced out. That's not a negative for us, simply an awareness.

Greenfield Village has stood the test of time! If you go early enough, the crowd is lighter. If you'd like to "go back in time" and see artifacts, this is your place. The village has ample space, a variety of buildings to visit, and experiences that you won't forget. It's more fun if you visit with others. Someone will see something you didn't notice and vice versa. If you haven't then make the time to go. There is plenty of parking, a few food options, but you may want to take your own lunch. One of the best parts of our last visit was seeing freshly made cotton candy. That was a blast from the past and the kids loved it.

    Steam train. Lots of seating.

Everything about our one day visit was excellent. The staff throughout the Village were cordial and extremely helpful. Expect to do lots of walking or, buy the Ride Pass so you can use the train or bus. Grab a map on your way in. Lots of history to be experienced in the Village. We enjoyed it all but by the end of the day, my eyes were tired from all the reading, and we were exhausted. Check the weather. If it's going to be hot, wear a hat and stay hydrated. One last thing; if you do buy the Ride Pass, go to the Model T ride FIRST. By the time we rode the train, there was a 45 minute wait to do the Model T. Great place and we envy those that live close enough to make a membership worthwhile.

Can't believe that I never reviewed the Greenfield Village before. I have to say that I am kind of spoiled to have this gem in my own backyard to say. If you love history this place is for you. They just don't have old buildings and artifacts to look at this place makes history come to life. You can ride a steam locomotive, see glass blowing, weaving, and printing in the artisan area. Visit a working farm, watch an old time baseball game, and much more! It also seems like every few weeks they have special events too like the old car festival, salute to America, and Halloween Nights (keep in mind some of these events cost extra). If you live close I would also highly recommend getting a membership. I often use mine to just go for a walk around the village on a nice day, or just find a nice place to sit under a shady tree. They have also done a fantastic job with updating their eateries and they do have some vegan options if you so choose. That all said I am a big fan of the Village and also the Henry Ford Museum so I highly suggest that you check it out at least once.

Spent a wonderful fall afternoon at Greenfield Village. It was my first time there and a fun experience as an adult without kids. Parking was easy (I went on a weekday) and it was easy to navigate. Can't wait to go to the museum next time.

My husband and I really enjoyed our day at Ford's Greenfield Village. It is an outdoor living museum. The staff are dressed in clothing specific to the time period of the early 1900's through about 1930's. The buildings are actually homes of people that inspired Henry Ford. There are childhood homes from the Orville and Wilbur Wright, Harvey Firestone as well as Henry Ford's. They have the actual home of Noah Webster, the author of the Webster dictionary. His house actually has an original first edition dictionary on display. They have volunteers or docents located in several of the buildings to educate on the history of the house or building. The museum has a working printing press of that time period. You can purchase the ride ticket so you can ride actual Model T's around the village or have the horse drawn bus to take you around town. You can also ride the actual steam locomotive taking you completely around the complex. I guarantee on your visit you will be immersed in history.

We had some time to kill and took our two boys out here we took them when they're younger and now they're a little bit older and it seemed like they got a little bit more out of it. It was pretty cool being able to connect the dots between what they learned in school and actually being inside the same buildings. It was a great day.

This was a better visit than I had in the past.I knew more what to expect so I was not surprised at the way it was laid out or the buildings or activities actually to depict a real village. One big add this time was that we got a very entertaining driver in the Model T ride in the auto activity. Last time the driver was quite different. The line moved quickly and we just lucked out for staff. Also, this time we did not try to eat a real meal here as the Cotswold Cottage is no longer serving, supposedly because of staffing issues but that is true elsewhere all over the country. We merely had a few snacks, a shared cotton candy and some shave ice. All we're about what you would expect . The carousel line was not as long as in the past and even I took a ride this time and left the filming of our group to another. The weaving exhibit was quite good and as a former weaver, I assure you their info was correct and they were demonstrating on authentic equipment. The glass blowing exhibit and activity was also comparable to what I have seen elsewhere. The restrooms were clean and available and the only very crowded area was the playground activities which we skipped this time. Since we went without much advance planning, we skipped the Thomas the train ride for the youngest this time as you do need advance tickets. But she has ridden it so many times before, it was not an issue. It is a decent project put together by Ford with their great wealth to develop. And if you like these historical parks, do try it.

It was not ideal for my FIL who has pain walking too much (it's not really worth paying for the tractor ride there either). They have lots of unique activities like a tractor pull that you can attempt for free and tires that kids can climb and take pics on. There is a "U pick" field where Tulips are $2/stem. That's expensive, no thank you! Then when you keep walking, there is a section where they have better bathrooms than the portapotties. And there are snacks like lemonade and you can even roast marshmallows! And then after that section, there is the flower field. I think it will be more worth it once my baby is older and can play on the playground and other activities like using their bikes.

We reserved Bonfire No. 7 for a perfect fall night for four hours. Three Cedars Farm is definitely an attraction in Northville complete with bonfires, hayrides, a corn maze, and of course apple cider and donuts! The bonfire was a great spot to hang out, put up a tent, grill some burgers and hot dogs and make s'mores. The staff periodically would come by on a cart to drop off more wood. The hayride was a nice short ride from the front of the farm to the back of the farm where the corn maze is located. Tip: I recommend that you bring flashlights and/or lanterns for when the sun goes down to enjoy your bonfire area. There is no light in the corn maze and you will resort to using the flashlight on your phone to try to find the Christmas tree stations in the maze. Don't forget to keep track on the corn maze postcards to turn in at the Donut Hut to be entered into a drawing. The only drawback are teenagers hiding in the corn maze jumping out at people in the dark. I hope no one gets hurt and this continues to be a place for adults and children alike. Also note the Donut Hut closes at 8pm although we were at the bonfire until 10pm. So get your share of cider and donuts early. I think the value of experiencing fresh donuts with hot apple cider sitting around the bonfire was perfect and worth every penny. I would like to go back next fall. Sharing my experience with Duke Petting Farm to save you from having to go through the same thing…read more I was having a big cowboy themed party for my boys joint birthday party. So I thought how fun would it be to have a cowboy horse & a petting farm. I Talked with Deb before even booking the party to make sure all the kids would be able to ride the pony. At first I asked for a horse because most of the kids would be around 10-11 years old. I was told a horse would be too hard for the little kids but she would send me a large pony that would be perfect for my age range. I told her no one would be over 120 pounds. She even asked me to put it in an email and I did. I am sharing that email in the photo section. I confirmed this with the owner several times before the party. Fast forward to party day when the problems all began. She sent 2 girls to work my one hour party. The one girl that ran the petting bunny area was EXTREMELY rude to all the little kids. Even rolling her eyes at them when they asked what kind of balloons she could make. She yelled at them multiple times when kids 3 years old were petting the baby bunnies. To a point of me and several parents going in the bunny pen to help. It was so embarrassing that people at my party were being treated this way. Several of the bunnies kept escaping. She yelled at the 3 year old birthday boy when he went to get a second handful of food from the food bucket they bring. She said "you already fed the animals." We tried to talk to her to help change her bad mood but it was the entire time and super disappointing as this was a kids party. The other thing I would like to warn you about is that TONS of the kids were turned away from riding the pony. The girl working said they were too tall. One of the girls was a tiny 10 year old weighing no more that 65 pounds. If height was a requirement I should have been told that before the party. Like I said I discussed this with her multiple times. So only a few little kids got to ride over and over. When you pay over $500 for someone to bring animals to your party you expect at least kind service. I contacted the owner before coming to social media. She said the girl working the party was only 14 years old. While she did say she would talk to her she made all kinds of excuses. I think it would be better to have an adult working something like this. She told me the bigger pony they had used at a different party that day and had problems with so they switched to this one. I understand things happen in life but those are not a customers problem. While I couldn't come to an agreement with the owner I thought I could at least warn all my friends or anyone thinking to book for a party! Stay far away. I wished I would have booked somewhere else. After having the party I had several people recommend Tyler's exotic animals. They said he is much more kid friendly. Just super disappointed that so few kids got to ride the pony & that the other worker that ran the balloons/petting area treated everyone so rotten. It was an awful experience and I have booked lots of big things for events. Never have I had to deal with this kind of unprofessionalism. Truly disappointed.
