Let me begin by saying that David Trainer is an AMAZING artist!…read moreHe is a wonderful person and if he were the actual owner and operator of the business, this review would be completely different. Unfortunately, the actual owner is a monster, nightmare and an absolute POS!!! I had been a patient of David's for several years and had been very happy with my prosthetics up until he admittedly used an alternative product to build my prosthetic. The item literally disintegrated within 3 months of wearing and I requested (then demanded) a replacement. The owner (Sue, the widow of the former medical director of the office) insisted that my insurance company pay for the replacement but also that I pay an additional $1000 even though I had reached my annual co-pay amount. When I originally discussed the issue PERSONALLY with David, he apologized and said that he did use a different product to build that ear and it clearly was a substandard substance. Even though my insurance company, against my wishes agreed to cover the cost of the replacement, the owner of the business Sue, FIRED ME AS A CLIENT!!! In addition, David, who I had spoken to and texted with, several times over the years has since ghosted me and has not had the set of cojones to actually speak to me personally. I am working with my attorney and the insurance company to have the payment for the defective product refunded. As long as David Trainer is representative of the Center For Custom Prosthetics, I strongly suggest finding an alternative artist. One that has a spine and works for an host and moral office. DEFINITELY NOT THIS ONE!!!

This woman is hell on earth and shouldn't be involved in ANYTHING that is patient motivated. Because I required that my prosthetic ear be replaced AT THEIR EXPENSE, because it literally fell apart within a month of receipt, Sue FIRED ME as a patient. This is AFTER I was told that a substandard product had been used to mold that prosthetic, so I felt that it should be without issue that my unit be replaced with the alternative product that, with proper care, lasts up to 7 years at their expense. Well that's when things started going downhill. Sue, who is nothing but a glorified secretary (and owner since the passing of her husband), decided that I was no longer a good customer. We will see how things go after my attorney addresses things. If you need head, face, and neck prosthetic services, I strongly suggest you seek ANY other options!!!

Review regarding Cranial Helmet for infants:…read more I had such a positive experience today at Hanger Clinic where I had my 4 month old evaluated for Cranial Asymmetry and possible treatment with a Cranial Helmet. Pete, the orthotist there, was so informative and friendly. Most importantly, the integrity displayed truly impressed me. I had my older daughter in a cranial helmet with another company and had a different experience. She was in a helmet from the age of 8 months old to almost 12 months old, she went from a 14mm to a 9mm. Although it was a fine experience, I chose to drive 3 hours away and did not go to my local Hanger Clinic. In hindsight, I have noticed that the other company often requires 2 or 3 helmets for treatment, whereas Hanger usually does it in one. This is significant especially when some insurance policies do not cover helmets. Also, I felt that the other company was quicker to recommend a helmet and felt very sales driven to me. Although daughter #1 certainly needed a helmet, I had a very different experience today with daughter #2. Hanger Clinic specializes in a variety of orthotic and prosthetic equipment, whereas the company I formerly used only did helmets. I think this fact alone makes them less likely to recommend unless they truly feel it necessary. I was so surprised by their conservative approach to treatment as that is not what I experienced with the other company. By looking at the scans provided by Hanger Clinic, I could see how round my younger daughter's head truly appeared, with only a mild asymmetry. Although they received no money from me and do not recommend a helmet (so no money really expected), he said to come back in 2 months and they will re-check her to make sure that she is still looking good, since she is currently 4 months old. My approach to medical treatment in general is I will do as much as truly needed and no more. If in 2 months there is worsening in numbers, then we'll go for a helmet with daughter #2, but if we're in the same place or better, then it's a pass for us. I wish I hadn't driven 3 hours each way for 4 months just because I thought the other company was the way to go. If I need to do it over, I'm definitely going with Hanger Clinic.
