Cardiovascular Consultants is located in the Paradise Valley Medical Center. Since we were driving right past the building, we stopped to make payment for a bill received. It was quick and easy. I had a terrible experience with this group. After coming in for my initial appointment, they said that they would fill my post-procedure medications and call me back with a follow up. Despite many phone calls and discussions with their front office staff I had no further contact with them. It's like I never stopped in. Their office personnel were completely inept. For a practice that specializes in heart issues, you expect professionalism and they certainly weren't. read more

Drs themselves are great when they are available. The front office, staff are subpar at best. Have left messages which do not get returned. Both for appointments and left messages for back office no one ever calls back. Will be switching. read more

This really is a terrible medical practice. They keep changing appointment dates and then when you get there they just ignore you and let you sit. I don't know that I have anything bad to say about the doctors but the front office staff and the management of this particular practice is atrocious. read more

This has to be the worst cardiology group this side of the Mississippi! As a healthcare worker myself for the past 35 years I've seen a lot but nothing like this. When you call the office, you are continuously passed for one person to another, and they say they will get back to you and they never called back and they have no answers regarding testing, medications, scheduling, they're the most unprofessional, unorganized cardiovascular group! EVEN the doctor was irritated , angry, rude, very irritated that I asked questions regarding testing and lad that were ordered. He seemed generally upset that he was even practicing medicine. The doctor seemed capable but the rest of the experience a disaster. A new prescription was never ordered in spite of 5 reminder phone calls and messages and still in limbo and now I am leaving town a week later. Messages never responded to. Reached people on phone and they promised to do things that were never done and so had to spend a lot of time working through the switchboard rarely reaching a live person. A needed procedure they never put in the order and again no follow-up when I asked them to do so. A little administrative hassle is no big deal. Not able to get very important procedures and medications because of a poor system probably designed to minimize service and maximize profits should not be acceptable. read more

I'd give zero stars! Worst medical office and experience. Charged me for my intake than then didn't follow up to get any of my tests scheduled or approved by my insurance. Set me back 2 months in care and needed treatment. They never responded - many phone calls to scheduling, insurance approval group and billing. No calls back. Still had the nerve to send my visit bill to collections when I asked that it be nullified because I had to go pay for another intake visit and start all over. Still haven't returned my calls. Having to fight the collector and reported them to the board and consumer financial protection and Honor Health as the group that referred them - they should know what they are referring. Would never recommend this group to anyone!!! Oh and good luck getting them to ever answer a phone - you'll be 6th plus in line and wait 20 minutes each time. read more

Just another place that makes you realize that you have to advocate for yourself. I didn't feel heard. The Dr that I had was supposed to put my results on the portal and she didn't do it because she "didn't know how". If that's the case then they should have to send them in the mail or make other arrangements. I shouldn't have to call multiple times. Dr always seemed sleepy and disinterested. I'm so happy that I found the doctor that I have now(different practice). It makes you realize the lack of treatment you received. read more

They have outgrown their administrative procedures, so don't be surprised if there is an error in your appointment such as the provider has moved to another office. They are NOT responsive to requests, transferring your call to the appropriate department, except that department doesn't pick up, asks you to leave a message, but does not return the call. read more

I do not know where to start, except to say do not go here. My husband had been going for three years to the 27th ave location after having bypass surgery. They always run at least an hour late for appts -- they regularly overbook times and their scheduling people are quite rude when you call to make an appointment. That we could deal with. However, their administrative incompetence is not something anyone with a heart condition should need to deal with. When hubby's post bypass stent was put in, according to the outpatient hospital nurses, CVC did not arrange to have a hospital coordinator assigned who handles follow-up prescriptions, etc. As a result, he could not leave the hospital after the morning outpatient procedure on time due to not having the required blood thinner prescription written so he could have an evening pill at home. When the outpatient nurse contacted the surgeon and explained what happened, we were told that the surgeon would not write the script and had said that hubby would need to stay an extra 4 hours at the hospital outpatient center and get the evening drug there instead of picking it up at the pharmacy and going home. We would then need to call the CVC office the next day to get the prescription written. Hubby had already stayed three hours over the required time while the nurses tried to get ahold of the surgeon, then CVC expects him to stay an extra four hours cause the surgeon would not write a script? Plus, expecting us to go through the headache of trying to call their offices and get the prescription written the next day? Why? Regardless of who made the coordinator assignment error, the patient suffered due to the CVC surgeon's refusal to send in a simple prescription {as explained by the outpatient nurses} and CVC not arranging for a hospital coordinator. That is not the patient care we want. Next, hubby was placed on wegovy for heart management and weight loss. They got a formulary exception where his drug plan would pay for it with a specific diagnosis code. This practice rarely used the right diagnosis code for refills they submitted, so the drug would come through as not covered and the pharmacy would want 1k plus for each refill. We would have to call to speak to someone, which was usually an hour plus wait, every three weeks, to get his refill diagnosis code corrected so the drug insurance would pay. Don't think of leaving a message for a callback, because they don't call back when you do, ever. Each time we spoke to someone different. Sometimes, the resubmission was then done using the wrong drug dosage, but the corrected diagnosis code. So we would have to call again and explain everything to another new person. Come to find out, they dissolved their pharmacy department and got rid of their dedicated pharmacy techs who did refills. Now, they have all their triage nurses handling refills during downtime. It is the luck of the draw who submits your refill and if they are reading the info correctly. Do you want to have your heart drugs handled this way? We don't. How can a cardiologist's office be managed this way? I strongly encourage anyone needing a cardiologist to consider the quality of their administrative management. read more

My 87 year old mother was a patient at CVC. While some of the doctors are good, their medical staff (and this applies to every office we visited in Phoenix AZ) are absolutely horrid! They are rude and make you feel like they are very put out by your mere presence. One nurse was telling my mother to hurry up! My mom is 87 and had just recently broke her hip! It's impossible to get any help from them for anything. When you call their main number the people there are just as unhelpful. One of their cardiologist came to see my mom in the hospital and told us just to put her on hospice! This place is freaking unbelievable! They are closing down offices left and right and don't even notify their patients of the closed offices. We are currently in the process of transferring our mom to a new cardiologist with HonorHealth. The form they sent us for Release of Medical Records tells you to mail it to an office that they have shut down!! Stay as far away from this place as you possibly can. Unless you like paying for people to be rude to you and find your elderly parents as easily dispensable people. read more

I was billed for an imaging procedure at the Bell Rd. office that I never had nor did I even have an appointment. I messaged the office about this using their portal and got no response. I called their billing office and had to leave multiple messages to get a follow-up call weeks later (apparently you have to disagreed their recorded message to not leave multiple voicemails). The person I talked with said she would refer it to some other department for investigation. It has been two weeks now and I am still getting billing reminders. I have filed a fraud report with Medicare - perhaps that will get their attention! read more

Do NOT go here, they are highly disorganized, will bill you incorrectly and you will spend an entire year trying to reach someone to correct THEIR mistake. If you don't have a heart problem going in, you are sure to have one after having to make 100+ phone calls and STILL no resolution with their incompetent staff. I had been coming to this clinic for almost four years, Melinda was an excellent MA under Dr. Damian, she helped me with all the many diagnosis and meds when I had a heart attack some months after my knee replacement. Calling in to do anything is an extended effort. Don't understand how there can be such great Docs and nurses and worse possible support system I've experienced in 65+ years. Bell Road Office Front office is extremely unprofessional. First appointment at 1/11, test 1/22, another test on 2/5, and a follow up set for 3/7 that was changed to 3/29. 10 weeks from first appointment to follow up is too long. Should have just walked out during the consult. Doctor looked at me and started laughing and said don't freak out. This says you had a heart attack. I think she just had pads in the wrong place. Why wouldn't he re-ordered the test. Then he has the audacity to argue with me about where my stents are. Told me there was no such place as where they are. read more

I just read that this practice has 9 offices in the Phoenix area. Apparently everybody works from home, not doing a good job at it, there is no way to contact the office directly. If hold time is too long and they ask you to leave a message usually nobody gets back to you. Two times about a month apart I had a medication request, it took 5 days each time for someone to get back to me. I left a message that I wanted an office manager to contact me and no one ever got back to me. Makes me have doubts about the doctors too. read more

Billing used wrong diagnosis code, so it's denied, 1 year later CCC send 1st statement after I can no longer appeal to ins. CVC refuses to reprocess with correct diagnosis code, so they can collect more than ins contracted amount. I had met my ded and out-of-pocket, so ins will pay at 100% if they reprocessed. I've asked and they refuse. Also, doctor stated at the visit pn his notes there was an interpreter present. There wasn't, it was just me and the doctor. He speaks English (smells like BO) and I speak English, there was no need for interpreter. The front office receptionist is rude, no personality and appears to hate what she does for a living. Find another cardiologist! This place is awful! read more

My primary care provider referred me to cardiovascular consultants for a possible very concerning issues. I attempted to call everyday for 2 weeks with no answer. I left multiple voice messages with no return call. I never spoke to anyone from their office. 3 months later I get an email from Magally Jimenez urgently asking for my insurance information for an appointment. I explained that I had never been able to get a hold of anybody and still needed an appointment. The only reposted I receieved was to disregard the original email and that it was sent in error. Their only concern was to bill insurance and no care was expressed that I was never seen or even communicated with. read more

My rating for cardio consultants covers 2 visits to them. 9/15 I was having an audio exam on my heart. Less than 5 minutes in a Dr knocked on the door, came in, and informed the tech doing my test that he had 2 test results with errors! This information cast doubt on the person doing my test. The Dr coming in had zero respect for my privacy as a patient. And certainly upset me...while I was having a heart exam! Third. There should be policies regarding to health and well being of the locations patients to not upset them, and respect their privacy, while test are being done. Combined to the office manager before I left. Came back on 10/1 and discussed the above with my Dr. The office did not inform her. Nor did they reinforce privacy policies with the staff since my visit. Lucky for me, I'm healthy enough to go elsewhere. read more

I have been a patient of CVC for a couple decades. Only within the last 6 months have I had problems. My CVC Doctor ordered a CT scan for my heart. A month later, I still had not received a return call for scheduling. On my next appointment, I told my CVC doctor what was going on so he personally called to get someone to make the appointment. After getting an appointment, a day before the scan, I got a call that they would have to reschedule due to mechanical issues. I was scheduled again for a week later and on my way, got a txt that scan would have to be rescheduled due to same issue. I finally had my CVC doctor issue and order for a scan outside the company. I finally got to see my Doctor with the results and he requested i come back in a month to plot our our strategy. When the time came for the appointment, I was called and told the appointment had to be canceled due to a technical issue with them (??) I went to my CVC office because its impossible to get anyone to answer the phone for appointments. I was told their scheduling software was having problems so they couldnt schedule. NOW I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, BUT IN KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT HANDLING A BUSINESS. 1. HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO ANSWER CALLS. 2. MAKE SURE YOUR EQUIPMNT IS WELL MAINTAINED AND A BACKUP PLAN IS IN PLACE WHEN IT BREAKS. 3. WHEN YOU SAY YOU WILL CALL BACK, DO SO. TWO WEEKS IS RIDICULOUS. 4. IF YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM FOR SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS IS NOT WORKING, GET A NEW ONE OR HAVE A BACK UP PLAN. THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THIS BACK OFFICE ISSUES ARE INEPT. Dear Public Consumers, I had to call four times to get a hold of the self pay lady name Leslie from billing department. Every time I called it rang right into her voicemail, and it would take her sometime to return my call back. Not a friendly customer service environment, this needs to be reported to the city of Phoenix so they can review how this business still offers public services without complying with the rules and regulations of consumers. Cardiovascular Consultants, LTD needs to be fully audited by an external state officers and see how they don't take good care of the patients. 07/06/2021 visit I have gone to see Dr Damien, at the Bell location on a few occasions before today. Today however was a major fail! The professionalism by Kelsey at the front desk, was just not there as she was very rude, kurt and abrupt. She wanted me to sign some papers, but I wasn't going to sign something where paper stated that I read the policy and acknowledge the policy, when I was not given a copy of it. So I asked her about it and she finally gave me a copy of it. They should give you a copy of the policy that you are signing that you acknowledge with the paperwork that they are giving you. From that point on she just got an attitude and was very kurt and short in her answers. I don't appreciate being treated unprofessionally by the front desk help at a doctor's office. To make matters worse I waited in the room to see someone for over 20 minutes and nobody still came. Finally I just left without seeing the doctor. To add to this, there was a woman in the waiting room. Her experience was she was told to come in at 2:30 even though her appointment was at 3:30 and at 3:30 she was still sitting waiting there for her 2:30 appointment. She got upset as well that she was called and told to come in early and here she was at her regular schedule appointment time and still waiting to see the doctor. The fault does not lie with Dr Damien, the fault lies with the staff and the staff is going to make patients not want to come back and this is something that the doctor's office should look and access. read more

We have been trying for 4 months for this office to send a medical release to our oral surgeon. We leave messages for the managers and no one returns our call. Their customer service is horrendous. How, they have been able to stay in business is a mystery. read more

My first visit, a referral from my doctor, I was told by Dr. Damin's receptionist that they are running behind over an hour. I asked if there was an emergency or was this normal. She said it was very normal. I had rescheduled my business appointments to be on time for this doctor appointment. The other patients waiting were equally frustrated. One even said that he over books because they are just greedy to make money and don't care about their patients. I am sure they care about the patients, at least I hope they do, but Dr. Damian is obviously overbooking patients if this 1 hour plus wait is normal. I wouldn't have minded waiting if there was an emergency. I do not make my clients wait like this and I expect to be treated similarly. It is a matter of respect and good business. I waited a short while but after hearing many of the other patients complaints I told the receptionist that I would be leaving and the reason why. She didn't care one bit. This is for the location on 92nd st, but there isn't a Yelp account for it I had an appt for a new patient at 4:20pm. I arrive promptly at 4pm. To be told that my appt is at 4:40pm (okay fine whatever) but that Dr Damien is running late an hour. So I wait to be seen. Finally get seen at 5:25pm. The MA did my EKG while I was sitting in a chair. Dr Damien came in and he didn't even do a physical assessment. Didn't even listen to my heart. He spent 95% of the time on his computer. Refilled my medication and told me to come back in 3 weeks. I waited so long for this crappy appt?! He didn't even look at my ekg until I asked him. Then the girl at checkout was rude. She informed me what works for her and didn't ask what my schedule is... then scheduled me with Dr Damien in 2 months!! Not 3 weeks like he asked... because he doesn't have anything available. Then she said I'd be seen by him or his Np. Awful. If I make an appt with the doctor, I need to see him and not the Np. Or be told otherwise. Stay away from this office. read more

In the past two years, I have been switched to different doctors three times because the doctors keep leaving the practice. I worked with Dr. S for over a decade, but after he retired, the next doctor recommended I wear a Holter monitor for my arrythmia since Dr. S had done no testing in the previous decade other than EKG's. I was re-diagnosed with SVT and told that an ablation procedure could eliminate my irregular heartbeat episodes. I had the procedure done, and it worked. Why didn't Dr. S inform me about this option during the ten years he saw me? Then both the doctor who recommended the procedure AND the doctor who performed it left the practice. I was assigned to yet another doctor and was then told that I had to drive to a location further away for my appointment because there weren't enough staff to see patients at their corporate office location. On top of that, for almost a year I was receiving bills for copays that I paid at the time of service--I'd get a new bill every month and would have to call the billing department. Then I got five bills in one day. Enough! I have lost all confidence in this practice and have switched to a new cardiologist. read more

Bell Road Office stinks. I showed up late from all the way across town & battling traffic. I was no joke 10 mins late (230) & the tech was already gone. I had a 220 apnt. Hard to help it when you run into heavy traffic while running to the appointment. Then front desk girl told me the tech also had an apnt he had to get too. Wow! You can only imagine how I feel. How was that going to work when he needed to leave and say,me the patient showed up in time.?? No way!There was 1 couple in that entire waiting room. Honor Health if ive been late (3X 15mins) in 6 yrs I have been going to them for my back & Mayo for 6 monsth 20 visits and late 3x No problem getting me in. I'm pondering leaving now even with such a genuine doc like Dr. Chen @ the Scottsdale office is a solid guy! My mother had a pacemaker put in at Abrazo in March 2020. CVC is the hospital preferred provider. Upon her discharge I was told a pacemaker monitor would be sent to her. At both follow up visits at CVC we were again told it would be sent, still nothing. Upon visit with Abbot device rep at CVC again inquired and got oh we will get it to her. Here we are in June and I called CVC 4 times, left messages for Lindsey who is in charge,so I have been told. Never received a return call. Finally I refused to be transferred to Lindsey since she is obviously uncaring or incompetent or both I was told to call Abbott the device mfg as they were to have sent it. Again 3 months post Sx without heart monitor. I speak to Abbott and was told the device showed assigned to my mom, but it hadn't been registered in "Merlin" when asked how To register it, I was told that was the CARDIOLOLOGiSTs responsibly. So here we go again, CVC can't register the device, but they sure got their bills out quickly. Again after never receiving a callback from incompetent and uncaring Linsey I finally got Lisa who promised to help and have the pacemaker registered. So had I not advocated for my mom she would not have her heart monitor. No one at CVC took again, pure lip service. Never once was an apology offered. Honestly if you have a choice for cardiac care and it is not an emergency I would not seek treatment from this group. While the doctors may be competent their staff is not and that is who you will interact. I doubt that the doctors in this group are aware of how their patients are treated. Who knows I'd Lindsey even exists or if that is just a voicemail box so they do not have to interact with patients. Most uncaring, unprofessional medical office, find another cardiologist office and save yourself the frustration. read more

I must update my precious experience! . I changed doctors within the group to Dr Geohas. He was also my mothers doctor. I cannot say at enough wonderful and positive remarks about Dr Geohas. He recently ran an echocardiogram to see if there were any issues due to my abnormal ekg. If there were issues, then he would have scheduled a stress test. He is very aware of what the insurance carriers will and will not pay for. He is extremely thorough and won't let you leave the office without understanding the test results. read more

I am appalled by the way my father in law was treated at the new office. He has been a patient for at least 20 years with Dr. Damian never having a problem. This year being over eighty you would think more attentive treatment would be given. He was given medicine that was shooting pains in his head. He made his appointment with same complaint. It was cancelled without notice. He drove 30 miles to just be turned around. Nothing resolved new appointment. This happened three times without anyone seeing him about SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS from medication that this place prescribed. I can find no reason for this type of treatment of a patient EVER! A call stating prior appointment cancelled or Dr. Review complaint and come up with solution to medication. The receptionist proceeded to rip his appointment paper and say "Well that's how it is." Incredibly poor customer service. I had an issue with my pacemaker where there was a possibility that it was failing so I immediately called the CVC on duty nurse line. After explaining my issue they transferred me to a different line which was never answered. I called back numerous times over two days explaining my issue, explaining that I was scared that the device was about to fail, that I could die, etc. No one cared. Numerous times over two days of calling, CVC said that they would have someone call me back to address my issue and that never happened. Today, 5 days later, still no one has called me back. I could have been dead by now. I finally went down to one of the offices without an appointment and said that I am not leaving until some addresses my medical issue. The only way I'm leaving is if you call the police and I am dragged out. They finally said okay, someone will see you. I did have a legitimate issue with the device and they are now addressing that issue. But, I am still looking for another provider. read more
