What a gorgeous autograph hotel. The hotel is a renovated Sheraton property! From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by the bellhop. Sam is amazing! So kind and helpful. Every one is so kind and attentive from the front desk to the restaurant. Viola is excellent as well (she checked us in). So happy this property recognizes elite members and provides upgrades. Very different from the states. The rooms are stunnninngg! I could stay here all day. The level of detail and excellent interior design is impeccable. Ceiling fans, tray ceiling lights, smart curtains, beautiful TVs, slippers and robes for all guest (not one like most hotels), rainfall shower, the beautiful marble in the bathroom. Just lovely. The family room is gorgeous and sofa bed/couch is so comfy. Just note there is a charge if this bed is made up of $65 euros. I was told an upgrade to a family room would be complimentary for elite status which has a sofa bed but then charged later on for setting up the sofa bed (so basically charged 65 euros for sheets and a pillow on the sofa bed already in the room) . So be mindful of that. The beds are very very comfy with large pillows. iPads on each night stand to order food, order different types of extra pillows - prego pilllows, lavender filled pillows, cool down pillows, see menus.
The pool is nice and huge but only open until 7pm unfortunately due to need for lifeguard on duty. Lovely area to sit around and grab a drink or small bites. I wish the hotel had more actual small bites/apps. The drinks were excellent! Club sandwich 8/10 soggy bottom of the bread. Burger 2/10 - I would say to avoid because it's just a frozen patty with no taste. Fries delish! The buffet breakfast is just ok. There is a lot to choose from hot and cold selections but i dont know I just didnt find much I liked. The eggs weren't cooked to my liking. The a la Carte menu is nice and not pricey. Tried the pancakes and they were pretty good. The dinner menu looks amazing! Brick oven pizza?! Wow. Will try soon and upgrade this review.
The gym is gorg! It looks like a real gym you would get a membership for. The spa is not open just yet but the pictures online are beautiful! Can't wait to come back to enjoy that.
Note there is a shuttle available for 8 euros pp to the city close to the colosseum. However, it doesn't run all day. If I'm not mistaken it leaves at three dedicated times per day. So I opted for public transportation. Very easy. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. If you are going into the city center you have to cross the street and walk a minute to the bus stop but coming back its stops directly at the hotel. Just note it's very easy to get around with public transportation and not once did I feel unsafe. So many locals ride it young and old. Even at 11pm at night everybody and their Nonna are using public transportation. Just stay aware like you would anywhere else and clutch your pearls at all times. Say no to strangers and keep it moving. Takes maybe 40 mins to get to Trevi and then you can literally walk everywhere from Trevi. More direct line to get to the colosseum. Taxis can be called from the hotel as well running about 40 euros vs maybe 12.50 for 48 hour pass for public transportation or less if buying single passes at 1.50 euros per ride. To each its own.
Anyway, I could go on and on about this property. It's such a gem! read more
