Yes, there can be some staff who are slower and seem less interested in customer service. But every time I've gone here, there is at least one person who is not only friendly but goes above and beyond, with extra helpful, polite, kind, warm, and thorough customer service. One time my cell service was down, so I couldn't access the QR codes I needed to do several Amazon returns. The person behind the counter offered to hotspot his phone so I could return my packages -- something only someone trusting and friendly would do. (I personally would never do this, being more cynical about cybersecurity. Please don't take this as a cue to inundate the staff with requests to hotspot their data!) The store has an extensive collection of seasonal cards and a constantly updated selection of surprisingly useful discount books (cooking, children's). I get that reviews from past years were about more surly staff, and the hours might be irregular. I did find staff years ago less helpful, but over the past two years, I've only had STELLAR service, and I tend to go after work. I'm grateful we have such a helpful Canada Post option and basic stationery store in the neighbourhood. read more

To be honest, I don't think this is the nicest card store around, but I love it because it has fast, available postal service (it's open seven days a week). The owner is almost always behind the post desk at the very back, running around like a mad woman, but still taking time to say hi to her regulars. I also use this place if I ever need a fax machine because it's convenient and sometimes they'll even send the fax for free (but only if you're patient and nice). Other than that it's got the basics; a good selection of cards, small gifts, and all the postage packaging and envelopes you'll ever need. One stop! That's what I'm talkin' about! read more

Good place to pick up some cheap party supplies. Every time I walk in they seem to be getting rid of old inventory at a great price (fancy greeting cards for $1) They also have a decent selection of balloons and will blow them up for you with helium for a small charge Pet friendly store as well. Post office is nice. read more

They are horrible at passport photos. Literally have no idea what they are doing. Horrible customer service and they are using a camera from 1995. Avoid this place for passport photos - there are many more qualified places in the neighborhood that will provide you a much better experience. read more

This is a nice, quiet little greeting-card and stationary store that isn't quite as overwhelming as the monstrous Hallmark/Laura Secord store farther east on Bloor; if you're going to send a pre-fab sentiment anyway, at least get it from a local. I wonder: is there a Hallmark moment that involves taking your business elsewhere? Even so, Cards 'n' Such has its own version of one-stop-shopping, since there's a Canada Post outlet (the only one in Bloor West Village) right at the rear. You have to walk the length of the store to get to it, so it's pretty convenient to buy a card at the front, then get a stamp for it and mail it in the back. read more

Okay store, subpar staff. This store is a very bare bones greeting card shop as well as a Canada Post outlet. I go here often out of convenience as it is the closest post office to my house. However, I have found the staff to be unhelpful and not very friendly on the many occasions I've been here to mail, pick up, or purchase something. There is often a long line for the post office and no one working at the cash register. They also do not seem to answer their phones at all. I suspect that management may have changed in the last couple years as the store used to be a lot more pleasant and better stocked. It almost looks like it is on the verge of closing, as the shelves at the front of the store are usually empty and some of the flooring looks unfinished (it has been this way for at least the last year). I only go here out of necessity, and buy my cards elsewhere. read more

This USED to be a nice tidy and friendly store when it was still owned by a Korean family who used to employ i believe international students. It was clean, playing smooth classical music while you were waiting and they had at least one cat. Now the store is owned by what appears a Chinese family, it is one of the filthiest retail places, mess everywhere, they haven't clean the store since they bought it (sounds familiar? - buy and keep it to generate revenue and increase in value regardless of how the outside looks...), the cat (getting older) is still there, it's getting stinky, dust and dirt on shelves, unorganized, the staff is horrible. There is one young guy who when you come will throw a look at you like if you ate his breakfast&lunch&dinner. I really miss the precious owner. I used to like going to this store, now i dislike going there so much that i prefer to go anywhere else even if that means spending more time. Some people don't want to provide service, they are just in for the money and they should have been removed Canada Post franchisee license. There are plenty of other places that could do it better. read more

I have been a customer of this card shop for nearly 20 years. In the past 5 years I have noticed it has really deteriorated (not sure if management changed) and now I avoid it like the plague. Every time I walk by I am shocked at how poorly this store is maintained. My main issue is it's cleanliness. The floors never seemed to be vacuumed, swept or mopped. The front part of the store has been converted to a retreat for their cat with it's bed, toys, open cans of food scattered everywhere. Whenever you make a purchase the cat is sprawled over the counter and one time was even sitting on the Moneris terminal that I needed to punch my pin into. I like cats, but I like many others am quite allergic so having the cat right under my nose when I try to make a purchase is problematic. read more
