The place is always buzzing, tables full without any beer, With card battles and games happening year round here. Whether you're a seasoned player or just tagging along, The energy makes it feel like you somehow belong. My kid is obsessed with Pokémon, that much is true, this is one of the few places with booster packs to browse through. Unlike Target, where the shelves are usually bare, Versus almost always has something waiting there. They've also got rare Pokémon cards displayed with pride, Though those prices send this parent's wallet into hiding inside. Maybe someday we'll splurge but today we'll just stare, And dream about adding a Charizard to our collection with flair. The drink/snack selection is small, but it does the trick, Keeping gamers fueled through matches that move lightning quick. Whether you're hunting Pokémon packs or rolling the dice for fun, Versus Games is worth a visit, even if you don't know what's going on.

That's my rule: if I step into a game or comic shop, I have to buy something. It's a hard habit to break at this point. From the outside, the store looks massive -like it might contain the multiverse. But once inside, the retail selection isn't quite as big as it appeared to be. BUT... it's got great stuff. Solid board game options. Plenty of space for RPGs and card games. It's the kind of store that's clearly built around social gatherings and play. Spacious and not cramped. A rare find in a city setting. There's an upstairs and downstairs, but those seemed more dedicated to table games you can meet up and play rather than shopping, so I didn't explore too much. The staffer working was friendly and helpful. She even checked if they had the new Monster Manual. Unfortunately, they didn't. That was a letdown. I mean, it's been out for months. If a game store doesn't carry the NEW core D&D books, especially right after a new edition drops, it stings a bit. They had plenty of the original 5e, but not the new. Still, I wasn't leaving empty-handed. Picked up a slick set of dice and the softcover Pathfinder 2E Monster Core Pocket Edition. Gotta support the cause. Overall? I'm glad I found the place. It's a real hangout spot. Honestly, throw in some coffee and comfy chairs, and I'd post up there for hours. Coffee and dice----- it just works right? Note: The 5-stars is a soft 5 because it really doesn't deserve a 4. I just wasn't floored and wowed by the place in general. 4.5 would be perfect. But a 5 it is DESPITE they didn't have what I came to get.

So far I've only shown up to do painting night (with a completely unrelated craft project, cuz I was accompanying my partner), and everyone I've met through the store's (very organized) Discord server has been lovely and inviting. Diana was also happy to let me know about their weekly D&D night. Only con is probably that if you're more interested in the board games side of games, there's a decent but relatively small selection compared to other game stores in the area. But I'll definitely keep coming back for the warm service and cool community.

at first, i was a bit confused since i mistook this store for a walk-in shop and didn't know about…read morethe pickup deal. i didn't have an exact product in mind, but i settled on pokemon cards before the person in front of me was done. the man (or possibly owner?) was really helpful and engaged a lot with customers to make sure he knew what they wanted or what they were inquiring. im just a hobbyist card collector, so i didn't know what specific series of cards i was looking for, and he just suggested the cheapest ones, which were what i was going for. initially i was nervous and didn't know if there was a pack limit, but he clarified its just so people don't buy out the entire stock (which is very good for business, since it happens all too often at retail spaces!) even if you don't have an order or know the exact product to the precise detail you want, staff is very helpful in giving you options :) a nice place that id stop by every week if i were local!!

The employee seemed offended that we didn't know the process and told us they did pickup only. Not once did he inform us on the actual website. Secondly the employee from the back came out to "answer" our questions, which he also was offended we were inquiring about a set that came out 6 weeks ago. He informed us we were "6 weeks late". He then proceeded to tell us incorrect information about the sets. Which feels was done on purpose. Pricing? These are scalpers, unauthorized resellers. These are the kind of people that weigh/scan packs and open all the hits. They were showing us set boxes with the shrink wrap missing, but were selling it to us at scalper pricing. (Meaning they weren't doing that thing were target rips open the shrink wrap so only collectors buy)

Everything cool, right? Well, it turns out, no. I came in today since I was in the area to double check if I was on the list and was not. They completely forgot to add me in and the list was so long, it was highly unlikely I would get the decks I pre-ordered. They told me it would be best to go to another shop to order and was not at all apologetic about the mishap. In fact, there were no apologies made. I really wanted to support a local card shop but the lack of accountability and the poor customer service makes it very difficult to do so. I won't be back.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help, making it a welcoming place for both longtime collectors and newcomers. Prices are reasonable, and there's plenty to browse no matter what you're looking for. The only downside is that parking can be a bit challenging, but it's well worth the visit.
