For all your pop culture, anime and TCG need check out this place! The shop used to be a normal walk-in but due to the high volume of rare collectibles insides it's mostly placing orders by the door. Yes, meaning there might be a line of ppl waiting to pick up their orders. It also means you should already know what you want to get. This kinda ruin the whole checking out new interest and be absorb into the culture more. I hope it goes back to the way it was before. The staff were friendly and I always get my order in great condition with amazing price. I recommend you guys check out their online store for inventory and goods.

This place is awesome the service is the best I love coming here for all the collection stuff and the prices are good. This guy has everything from hard to find stuff to stuff you never even knew existed. He's got Yugioh cards, Pokemon, one piece, magic the gathering, sports cards and more y'all have to sign up for the membership too if you're a real collector. The discount is worth it. I bring my son here too and he loves it. Definitely one of my favorite places to go to in San Francisco. Sometimes they will let you in to look around. But yeah it's a place you gotta visit if you're in San Francisco.

The impenetrable fortress aka their storefront

Store looks practically abandoned yet they're open for business. Can't even step inside and look around because they have a 3 year old Covid barrier still up yet every other shop on the block is maskless. Sucks to see a store that has been around this long look so decrepit.

Isn't it pretty surreal to think that such a business as Cards & Comics Central that is not essential for people to survive for they do not serve a vital need of yours - IN PLAIN SIGHT - and although it literally does not; IT still HAS the very obvious solid intention, motivation, willingness and further makes the actual effort to sustain itself in such a gray-scaled world, where the importance of 'keeping the kid within one's own heart alive' ultimately got reduced to a negligible point (Special Thanks to the MATRIX); for you were flawlessly programmed to become adults who would prioritize activities of procreational sorts so to be able to experience the curious innocence of a kid's, in the very new life that you would bring to this gray-scaled & constant procreation oriented BITTER WORLD of so-called humanity; which in my own experience had become a million times more unliveable in less than two decades of a period, proudly sustaining that quite 'cancerously' uncontrolled reproductive activity! Which hurts the kid in me, you know, who was born in the 80's, such a lovely era truly; providing me with the 'knowing' so well of what LOVE actually felt like back then quite dearly and romantically; and indeed very collectively by the majority of humanity!.. I am beyond grateful to this business for serving the very unique needs of the kid at my heart; who is indeed determined to keep liking and loving what he had always liked or loved in HIS OWN DREAM WORLD; as some of them happen to be my literal "SOUL FOOD"s which I won't ever stop feeding my soul with... ** ...no matter how further I would age, Open are the doors to my soul cage!.. To praise businesses like this one, especially in this day & age Haven't you also been feeling a need 2 TURN this awful page? For a better world to altogether stage! x 2 I HAVE A CRUSH ON THIS BUSINESS in a quite similar way to Jennifer Paige! ** This place inside is actually like a toy museum that has all sorts of action figures, their separately sold accessories, other various collectibles as well as the original play sets of your favorite superheroes, some of them being large enough to occupy a quarter of your bedroom space, adding up to your colorful GRACE. The value part would be unquestionably relative; as once again, this business offers you the kind of nutrition that not every single adult feels a specific type of hunger for. And if you are a person with such uniquely specific needs; sometimes the high price loses its scary meaning due to the very nature of those very needs or how they should best be fulfilled; given your character & nature, using which, had you already made your BUDGET to purchase you that specific gadget in which you are interested. ^_^ ** SO, if you think that this business is on the pricier side of TOY THINGS Tell me how much would be enough to buy your UNIQUE BLISS-BOY HAPPINESS Who could judge you if you agree to spend $100 on an ETERNAL Sailormoon Statue Without your active imagination toys won't change a lot, and PATIENCE is a virtue ** That said, if you are one of those adults who has always identified their very own needs without having to necessarily requiring to consult any external body, in total wholesomeness which they maintain so flawlessly self-sufficiently; and if you know how to make the kid at your heart happy - ALTHOUGH THEY NO LONGER PHYSICALLY ALLOW YOU IN POST-PANDEMIC, WHICH IS QUITE HEARTBREAKING - you should absolutely go & check the place out; as their restless staff members will be there to assist you; like hard-working Smurfs, each, which to me is, comically adorable. Because there are not that many adults as those guys in the world anymore; you know. Perhaps in Pixar Studios; yet not in your most commonly visited grocery stores. I am so grateful to this business for their very contribution to achieve a significant removal of boredom, which this Groundhog Day-ish themed simulation naturally has to it; which will likely be my affidavit for the times that I couldn't simply do it; if I were to be asked why I couldn't make IT, GOD-FORBID! Feeling in need of hopping on to a Time Machine and travel back to a time where you were able to enjoy being a KID AGAIN? Check these guys out. PRO-TIP: If you are a cartoons & comics enthusiast; keep in mind that the guys who work there are literal Comics Universe Wikipedia; so do not hesitate to be super duper specific about what exact colors of boots the particular character from a particular planet, that you would want them to be in that particular design of that figure of your very search, so to be able to consider that for purchase. The way they treated me in that regard; each and every time, made me feel like they must've already started the opportunity to cross-sell a rarely found long-lost cousin of that particular character's which they've already started looking for you in the depths of their curb pickup style store!

    Yugioh!!!

Customer service here is always good! They never bother me for shit, they don't even talk to me when I'm in the store walking around.. Love that! But as of right now, they are only open for pick ups no store browsing for you filthy animals trying to come in. Better safe than sorry.

Right at the door, I was already hooked at the first few comic items I laid my eyes on. The deeper into the store I went, the more I found myself continuing to browse the collection at different sections of the shop. I had something in mind that I was looking for but decided to leave the shop as some conversations were going on and I didn't want to interrupt. However, I was graciously asked if I needed help right as I motioned my farewell. I shared that I was looking for "Invincible" and was immediately assisted to where it was on the shelves. Unfortunately, the first few issues (starting at #1) was not present. I asked if it will be restocked, but I was honestly told that I would probably find it elsewhere faster than when Invincible #1 would arrive. Then further conversations continued about how the owner (who turned out to the person helping me out) has history in a few notable comics. I'll let you visit and find out for yourself. With the owner's help I definitely felt like I had a memorable and fulfilling 1st time visit at Isotope Comics. Cheers and I hope to visit again soon, @gerosan_adv

I have gone to Blackbird a handful of times and have enjoyed the experience each time. Blackbird is primarily a bookstore, but they do have an outdoor window where you can order drinks ranging from matcha (Rocky's Matcha, if you're curious about which brand they use), lattes, and tea. They also carry a good amount of pastries (even mid-day, they have a lot of goodies), which I really appreciated. When you order your drink, you have to enter inside the bookstore to wait for your drink to be called, but you can take the time to stroll around and look at their book selection and trinkets. Heads up: the seating here is limited but very lovely. Inside, there are a couple of community tables, but their outdoor area is absolutely magical, with lush greenery and benches for you to enjoy your drinks. This time around, I got one of their seasonal drinks, a honey lavender vanilla latte, and I paired it with an Earl Grey olive oil loaf. The portion of the pastry was generous and moist, while the icing was not too sweet. Overall, a great pick for a cafe if you're in the area.

Matcha latte with whole milk : It's very savory which is great, unsweetened by default. I thought this was one of the better matchas I've had if you want to be able to taste the matcha strongly. Olive oil spelt cake: It reminds me of pound cake. Not that sweet except the frosting/icing. It was okay but as someone who's not as fond of that kind of cakey texture, I'd probably not get it again. They have a really lovely garden and patio in the back. There is also a bathroom. The acoustics and set up for events isn't great, though. It was hard for me to concentrate on the speaker for the book talk since you can hear the noises from the cafe behind and also the sounds of other store customers all around you. That was the only downside, but I think it's a very charming bookstore otherwise.

What I love here are the carefully curated staff selections that are found everywhere. There are always unexpected finds and books you'd never unearth online all housed in this labyrinth of a store. The tables of discounted and used books upstairs are worth a browse. The atmosphere is welcoming, dusty, and this old Victorian house is perfect for wandering. One of my favorite Sunday rituals: browsing until I find something unexpected, and then heading down Clement for dim sum, some thrifting, maybe a Kamei treasure, a strawberry crepe, and some Asian groceries. A Green Apple visit makes the outing complete. In addition to their well curated jewelry items, they also carry fun SF themed puzzles, cute dishcloths, empowering kids books - and other colorful quirky finds I ended up buying a petite hooked rug pillow with daffodils on it - to commemorate my Welsh heritage - https://www.wales.com/about/welcome-wales/national-symbols-wales . I had hoped the pillow was handmade, but after talking with the helpful and kind staff member here when checking out, she revealed that it was likely mass produced in a factory in China. I appreciated her candid honesty. Even though the pillow was actually fairly hard to the touch, and not handmade - I felt called to purchase it. I would much rather say "aw I love this place," as I pay for an item, rather than "aw I loved that place," when the business is gone. My hard whimsical daffodil pillow now sits upright in the corner of our place. A reminder that even small purchases help support wonderful local businesses. Trust.
