I am an alumni of CCI. I literally just had my graduation/pinning ceremony last Friday. For those that are curious, want to change to a different career path, one that is stable, rewarding and let's face it secure? CCI has various health care related options, all fast tracked and have both day and evening options so you can still continue to work while attending school (granted that there are enough enrollees to facilitate both options) They have caring and knowledgeable staff who are experts in their fields, and give honest insight into the field that you selected to pursue. They have externships to actual facilities where you get real world exposure and training. You get out of this what you put in, so by no means are the programs easy, but you learn a lot. There are also financial aid options available to those who qualify. Most fields of study can be completed in less than 18months. I finished the Vocational Nursing program which was about 14months of actual school, and already am receiving job offers from several sites. I could come one day and I made arrangements then genesis decided to contradict what I was previously told when I tried explaining the misunderstanding she ran to the dean and told her I was behaving confrontational disrespectful and in a threatening manner, when I went to the dean about this and I told her that I was given two different information she went and investigated her exact words were "IM GOING TO GIVE U THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT AND THE ONLY REASON I DONT KICK U OUT OF MY PROGRAM IS BECAUSE OF THAT." In return I got placed on the wait list and genesis still expected me to pay enrollment fees with out the guarantee of being able to sign my contract she said there was no guarantee and it's a risk I have to take as being on the waitlist. So I paid a couple hundred and was expected to still show up and she was still allowing others to sign their contracts and enroll. She lacks professionalism and etiquette and the dean cares more about staff than the students. The way she allows her to treat others this way speaks volumes. Genesis straight picks and chooses who she wants as long as u don't pose a threat to her. read more

I joined CCI for the Limited Scope X-ray Tech/Medical Assisting program and could not have been happier! I love that it was a trade school that took just about a year to complete. The staff is awesome, especially Mr. A. He is a great teacher and really cares about his students success. The school does great with job placement as well, the externship put us places where we could could potentially get a job after graduating. I instantly fell in love with the field and I have CCI to thank for that! I would 10/10 recommend the Oxnard location. read more

Hi guys! I was shopping for schools and inquired information about the school. After bad reviews I've seen I wanted to check it out for myself. I walked in with a mask and there safe COVID protocols and met Michael Boyd in admissions. He was pleasant! Everyone was very professional and I love how big and pretty the campus is. Compared to the other ones I've gone to visit. I don't know what program to pick but, I left with a wealth of information! For sure, when I decide what program I'm doing I will make this my first choice. I even spoke to an instructor and he seemed so passionate about X-Ray! read more

I went to this school 6 ish years ago. I was able to graduate and become an LVN and practice for 5 years. Great teachers, organized school. Financial aid available, started an RN program with the school. I'd recommend to any of my friends to go to LVN school here! read more

One of the most amazing instructors I've had the pleasure to meet and be taught by.

Complete waste of time! I decided to transfer from another school to Career Care Institute Oxnard in pursuit of my dreams of becoming a nurse. I choose CCI because it appeared to be a pleasant environment and I was looking forward to finishing what I had started. I took a break from my education to focus on my health as I am a cancer survivor . When I officially signed up I was told by the admissions representative that they only allow forty students and that I was the fortieth one. Feeling lucky to had "made it", my spirits were crushed when I was informed two days later that the board would only allow thirty five students and that I could attend class but only as an alternate. I agreed to attend in spite of not knowing if I would have a permanent spot. Three days after starting class, I was told "good news! We had someone else cancel and you're in." Again feeling lucky and excited, I began getting ready to head in to campus to do the drug test and background check. On my way there, again, I get a call from the admissions representative saying "because you didn't come do the drug test, and background check, the head of the school, (who ever that is) made the decision to put someone else in your spot. All this happened mind you, while I was literally on my way there to do what they asked me to do! I am now searching for yet another nursing school... and can not get back the time that I wasted with CCI Oxnard. However, if I can help save YOU time, I would like to take the opportunity to do so. You learn a lot. You have to read and do the work to pass. Nursing is not easy. There's a high turn over with teachers and most don't want to give you study guides for tests. read more

I went to this school 5 years ago and although it wasn't the best experience (with administration) I managed and was able to get a job. I didn't complete the program due to complications with my work schedule and trying to make up for all the free labor I'd done to make my hour requirement. So in 2020 I decided to go back and make things right and fix my unfinished business. I must say that, other than the gracious help of Mr Alcala, this has been the worse experience of 2020 besides the pandemic. If it weren't for Mr. Alcala, I would have lost my temper already, but I feel I have to write this so that anyone attending this school or considering it will understand that you must get everything in writing and have it double and triple checked before you agree to it. They treated me like a child while I was there getting finished up, even though they knew my story and that I was already a working professional. They charged me for a uniform that I didn't need cause I was only there in review for one month, to top it all off they didn't give me the one diploma I went there to get. I'm speaking specifically about administration. After all the professionalism they demanded from me, had me on probation the entire month of review (even though I hadn't attended that school for 5 years), and charged me an exorbitant amount for a short period of time, they didn't extend that same courtesy to me and give me the paperwork I required to improve my career. I'm beyond upset and hopeless. So when attending this school, make sure you have admin double and triple check cause they seem to not have a clue about how to do their jobs. And I'd like to repeat again, Mr. Alcala is a great help and goes above and beyond... he's not administration, he's a teacher, but I do feel that he has my back. read more

I currently work at CCI as a program director. It is sad to see bad reviews from students and past employees. First I would like to say that there is no workplace or school that is perfect. Truth be told, bad reviews come from employees that were fired and students who were kicked out or failed out of a program. Students that are enrolled in school, no matter where or what school, it is YOUR responsibility to come prepared to class. That means you have read your course material, completed assignments, etc. It is not the job of teachers to spoon feed. Teachers are to facilitate your learning, If students are not understanding course material or failing exams, again, it is YOUR responsibility to ask your instructor for help. It is not our job to seek you out. We are aware of the students struggles and are always ready and eager to help you to be successful, but we cannot do our job if you do not do your job and come ask for our help and guidance. With the bad attitudes and entitlements that some students display, it's a wonder that there are any instructors to teach. The healthcare profession does not tolerate that type of behavior. For any one that wants to join the healthcare profession, you must have a positive, caring attitude. The diversity of patients that you will be taking care of, deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and integrity. If you cannot show that in school towards your instructors or even the school itself, you have no business joining any healthcare program. Be accountable and take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming others for the consequences for your actions and bad choices. Is CCI perfect, no. But my job, and my faculty's job is preparing the future of the nursing profession, by ensuring students understand nursing content, understanding the "Why" , being able to "Critical Think" to be safe and competent practitioners. If any student cannot do that, then you will not make it through your educational journey. I can say that ALL program directors, faculty/instructors & CCI support staff are there for students. I encourage anyone that is looking to enter into a healthcare profession, come check out CCI and begin your exciting educational journey. read more

I received my paperwork after a delay caused by the school from the state board of nursing last month saying my paperwork (which, if you are in level 4 know, that they are not only instructing you to fill out this paperwork but PROOFREADING IT AND "DOUBLE CHECKING" for errors) had been declined due to an unanswered question on my record of convict regarding a traffic violation. (excess of $300+ is to be reported) so. Why wasn't my paperwork double checked? I was delayed a month more for my paperwork, I called the state Board and had them instruct me on how to resolve the issue and am now scheduled (finally, no thanks to Cci) to examine for my license. I can't reiterate enough, go else where for your Lvn license, or better yet, go get your aRN from VCC. read more

The experience is what you make it. If you go in there and want everything handed to you obviously that's not going to happen and that's when people make it a negative experience. I came here in 2017 for the Dental Program. It was great! Very hands on and really felt like I was at a Dental office learning. They helped me with job placement right after graduating. I got hired within a month after graduation. Choosing this career has opened new doors for me where I am currently trying to move up in the dental field. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants a career in the medical field with great hands on training! read more

This school is a joke!! They pushed around start days, 3 times, so our course ended up beginning a month after the first proposed date. Then it changed from days to nights, without any notice.. When I enrolled they told me that this school was nationally accredited (which it's NOT! Only in California) when I signed up I explained very thoroughly that I was planning on moving out of state & they said I could transfer my credits to further education, since we would be limited. Wanted limited X-ray tech, and ended up finding out that a majority of our work would be doing back office procedures ( not what I wanted to be doing @ all) On top of all that, the school changes things left & right because so many people up & quit., it seems like no one there has their shit together. Please consider other schools before losing money going there!! read more

I am currently a medical assistant student at CCI. I could not love this school more. I am currently finishing up my 9th month program. My instructor is awesome, she is very professional and caring. There is nothing that I appreciate more in a teacher than seeing them have the passion to teach, lead, and prepare young new minds in the medical field. I have had a wonderful experience and I feel that CCI has prepared and equipped me enough that I feel confident in graduating and going out to the field. The staff has been very helpful as well. They have always been open to our needs as students and they go above and beyond to help us as well as to celebrate us. In the year 2017, My Experience in Career Care Institute, It came to my attention that the CCI staff members are very unorganized, they give an incomplete information such as bills payment, school schedule, etc. They left you hanging on the phone and emails. Regards the paperworks from school that need to be process to take the NCLEX, they do not reach out to you once you are done with your school. So you will have to actually bug them for them to process/send/pay for your paperworks. read more

I was greeted happily and warmly by the receptionist then my appointment with Ruby was wonderful, what a positive, engaging, professional and informative advisor. I have had a wounder experience at career care institute. i have had a lot of good hands on experience. i really liked that they help you and you work as a class to get through your skills. although there are some tough times because of students not paying attention and causes stress on everyone. I am in the dental program and my instructor is the BEST! she is a great teacher and mentor, Really pushes you to stay positive and keep going when you feel that you cant. If i could give 0 stars i would, i have had nothing but problems with this school since starting the have no care and concern for most students and the dean of education has told me flat out that all they care about is the schools passing rate. they allow you to continue to the next level even if you didn't pass so they get the money for that level and then drop you which as happened to me, then they say if you come back in 180 days or so but they push your re-entry date back multiple times so you don't make that 180 day mark, when that happens you have to pay for the level out of pocket. I have seen so many teachers come and go which is alarming for me being a student, A few teachers are very nice and helpful and others i sometimes wonder how they even have a job our current teacher has taught us maybe a handful of times the rest of the time we don't see her for theory. the equipment is outdated and we are told that we don't have the money for new equipment which for me is kinds BS seeing as most students have to pay 30k to attend. the theory class consists mostly from slides shows with text from the book they give you or typed from someone back in 2010. clinical is probably the only thing this school has going for it. The teachers lose your work, i have had one teacher shred my mid-term after i repeatedly asked to see it so i can see why i scored so low she then waited and later shredded the test and scantron so i could not look at it then she "lost" one of my finals and i was told i didn't pass that level that i received a 74% for the level and had to repeat i fought it with the school and was told the school doesn't have a policy preventing teachers from shredding any test scantrons or students homework. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TALK TO THE STUDENTS RATHER THAN ADMISSIONS BECAUSE MOST OF THE STUDENTS WHO AREN'T BRAINWASHED WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH!!!!!! read more
