Great school. Barely anyone is ever on campus which is weird but I guess everyone takes online classes. Get an education!! It's worth it.

I called the main hub and told the receptionist that I applied to a full time office role at VC. I clarified that I did not apply at a job fair. I applied online. After 3 phone transfers(after stating clearly what I applied to) I finally got to HR. I offered to provide the job ID to the agent who declined. He then explained that the full time job I applied to does not exist. Why was it posted then?Im hesitant to know which job openings at VC are "real" and which ones arent.

Ventura College does more than just give you your education. I was on bad terms with my whole family and achieving my degree opened up the door to talk to my mom and dad, again. Nevertheless, I am now back in my family again. I have achieved homeownership; since, college. I also have all of my needs met. Thank you Ventura College and my other schools for opening doors and feeding a broken man, literally and figuratively; via, education And real things. I am now whole once again. Lastly, after receiving my degree, Ventura College is still here to help when I need It.

DO NOT GO TO THIS COLLEGE. I would not send any child of mine here on a bet. The mentality is…read more militaristic and cultlike and the spiritual abuse is unconscionable. A young friend of mine, a recent convert to Catholicism, went here and I was absolutely horrified at her stories. To give one small example, it is required that all of the students sit and listen to all of their teachers talking about them with no filter. The criticism is just complete spiritual putdowns to absolutely crush the spirit. No mercy, no kindness. She was literally crying and they didn't stop. It's a place where you are broken down. All of the alumni look alike, which says a lot. Another thing people should know is that neither Catherine of Aragon nor Queen Victoria would pass the modesty standard. I am not joking. any neckline more than two fingers under the collarbone is considered slutty. The culture is so utterly out of touch and sets such an impossible standard that the alumni cannot function outside of the subculture, mostly because they are so full of themselves. STAY AWAY IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAITH. This place is about pride.

It's honestly very discouraging it seems as though they don't want to enroll any one new. They also made some updates to their requirements which were not previously listed. They need to be professional and give answers and help to those interested in applying. My cousin is going through the same and they told her if she didn't have straight As they won't even consider reviewing her application. The library provides free books and iPads for students. ‼However, opinions about the teachers vary. I have never encountered a worse teacher than German Bermudez! He is very arrogant, unfriendly, and the atmosphere in his class is always tense! He speaks with a strong Latin accent, and he never explains new words. He always speaks quickly, and he gives strict deadlines for homework that you can't complete (on an iPad), which other teachers don't do. As I was informed, he used to be a student and now he's a tutor, which is why he has a sense of grandeur. I am very disappointed that the college doesn't have control over who they hire... Additionally, I would like to recognize the most excellent teacher in this college, Patricia Viveros! She always smiles, jokes with her students, and is very helpful in explaining new words!‍‍ Her lessons are easy and fun, and the atmosphere is friendly! She is a great teacher with a lot of experience and a kind heart! Her teaching methods make it easy to understand and learn English! I would recommend her as the best teacher in California!

My classes' first time bar pass rate was about 50%. I started working insurance defense with new lawyer who graduated from Loyola with $100,000 in debt. I paid a fifth of that back then. State Farm and Allstate both have firms where the managing attorney is from a state accredited law school. Course some firms will not even consider you without a degree from a nationally accredited law school. In fact the Daily Journal has job listings where they ask you not to apply if you do not come from a ABA approved law school. If you want to work for a small firm, are starting law school late in life, don't want to go into debt, don't have outstanding LSAT scores, can't get a scholarship or a relative to help pay or already know someone or some place that will hire you, go here. Many of the teachers are local judges, so locally it has a good reputation. You won't have any social life for four years, but that's what it takes.

They marketed it at the time I applied as a school for working adults. I wish I had attended Pepperdine, St. Francis or Purdue Global. COL will literally disqualify you even in your third year. As in you paid all this tuition & then boom! Disqualification. In your first year the classes start with 45 students. Please look at the number of students who actually get to graduate each year (that will tell you everything you need to know) and sit for the bar. You'll see more than half either drop out or get disqualified. A lot has changed at this school since 2024. It's not worth the tuition risk cost or dealing with biased and gatekeeper-esque instructors like Professor Jones. If he doesn't like you (it can be for no reason too) and you pull off below a C+ just remember he's on the academic petition committee. He will make sure you're disqualified later. The mentors I had are paid students & aren't very helpful. You'll try to get study time in & the caring ones turn it into a therapy session & you just wanna go over cases. The instructors have too much power & lack accountability. You're afraid to speak out or go to the Dean because Professors like Jones will threaten you & spend class time complaining about a student having an issue about him turning Contracts class into a sob story about his divorce & 6 kids moving away. Unless you don't work, or work part-time it's a waste of money.
