The other was practically unusable -- it wouldn't go over 7 mph and continued to lag even after we passed the green buoy by over 200 meters, just as we were instructed. When we first arrived to check in, no one was there. Around three separate groups, including us, stood in the sun for 15-20 minutes with no staff in sight. When someone finally showed up, the employee who helped launch us was polite and gave clear directions -- the only positive part of our entire experience. He even said, "If the jet skis slow down after the green buoy, call us for help so you don't waste your time coming back." We followed instructions exactly, but the jet ski still didn't work properly. We tried calling twice for help from the water -- no answer. After wasting over 10 minutes trying to troubleshoot on our own, we had no choice but to return to the dock. Once again -- no one was there. The dock gate was locked, and we had to wait another 15 minutes until my husband ran all the way back to the office to get someone to assist us. When help finally came, the staff member dismissed our issue and showed us the jetski's GPS screen, claiming we "never passed the buoy," which was completely false. Why would we lie and purposefully waste our own time? He admitted they were short-staffed, said he could give us a new jet ski, but only for the 20 minutes we had left -- no refund, no time credit, and no apology. He kept trying to shift the blame onto us, when clearly their equipment and lack of staffing were the issues. We asked for his name, and he ignored us twice. He told us, "The owner Tyler will contact you today," but no one ever reached out. We even called again before they closed -- still nothing. Also -- being short-staffed is NOT the customer's fault. Maybe manage your scheduling better so customers don't end up stranded or waiting for basic help? No one was available at the front desk, no one answered the phones, and no one was at the dock when we needed assistance. You wasted so much of our time and money, and this is by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I'll definitely be contacting my bank to dispute this charge. My session was jam packed with valuable information that was tailored just to me. Before we actually met, Julie interviewed my wife and I for what type of instruction would be most helpful. She also sent me a brief survey to get an accurate representation of my skill level and desires for moving forward. Lastly, Julie assigned me a few tasks to do before we met to make my training time more useful. We met in old town, and spent quite a bit of time discussing and trying out various techniques. One of my weak points was how to use my built-in flash. I learned about camera settings I didn't know my camera had and learned invaluable flash techniques. If that was all we had covered, I would have left the training as a happy camper. I've already used what I learned about flash. She also spent time discussing how a professional photographer approaches a shot. Some of the techniques I know, some were new and together it was all very powerful and meaningful. We then had a practice session where I was to take as many different shots of a single subject (a park object, not a person) in a finite amount of time while she did the same on a different subject. We then swapped subjects and repeated the process and finished by comparing our photos and discussing them. It was very useful to see the different shots and techniques she used vs what I had done as well as learning how I could improve a few of my shots. The last focus of my lesson was on shooting people (my weakest part of photography). She did a great job describing how you would change the shot depending on the situation. She also discussed the importance of preparing and practicing for a shot before involving strangers, so that once you ask a person if you can take their picture, you're ready and they don't have to wait while you adjust your camera. I don't know what my wife paid for the session, but it was worth every penny. I had fun and I learned a whole lot of new stuff. Julie also followed up with a post-session email to help reinforce what I learned. I would sign up again with Julie in a heartbeat. And I bet her group lead photo tours are great as well, she was very knowledgeable about the historic sites around Old Town.
