The Gondola Company made my friend's bachelorette weekend so awesome! Booked online with their very detailed website, and paid tip ahead of time (you can pay the day of too!) Parking was very easy for our 5pm gondola ride--there's a few other stores here but they looked closed when we arrived. Following a few signs we were able to find their shop in the back toward the pier. The female employee that was at the counter was so nice! She promptly brought us the menu and although the wines were so tempting we had already had too much this weekend and had brought our own apple cider and pastries. She was nice enough to crack it open for us and prep it on some ice for the ride! They also provided us with wine glasses. What I really appreciated is that The Gondola Company does not force or pressure you to buy anything extra and actually allows you to bring your own snacks or food onto the gondola, which was pleasantly unexpected! They do offer a good wine list and two chocolate/truffle options if you are interested. Onto the experience! We had Nico, a really sweet gondolier with years of experience. He safely got us into the gondola and off we went into the few surrounding canals with some beautiful Italian music as we watched the sun set. We appreciated the beautifully crafted gondola and the amount of space on it. Appreciate the thick warm blankets they provide for the cold ride by the water! We also had so much fun seeing the beautiful neighboring homes And their awesomely named boats! 5pm was the perfect time to see the sunset and the beauty of the water in darkness in January. I easily get seasick, but came prepared with a Dramamine to help with it; I ended up being fine on the ride thankfully the gondola ride was pretty smooth! I asked Nico some questions and he shared some awesome facts about the gondolier trade and how amazing it is that you can steer the entire gondola with one person and one oar. He even surprised us with a beautiful song sung by the talented man himself! At the end we were given a card with instructions on how to obtain our free picture on the gondola that we took before we set sail! It was just such a memorable experience for us and we couldn't ask for a better company to share it with. Thank you Gondola Company!!

My husband and I recently celebrated out 12th wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something special to celebrate. Having been to Venice for a previous wedding anniversary, we decided to relive our experience. Anyway, we booked a sunset Gondola ride on a Sunday evening. The company charges a corkage fee if you bring your own champagne and they provide ice and glasses. They also sell wine and champagne for the rides, if you prefer not to bring your own. We chose to bring a bottle of the champagne from our wedding to enjoy on our ride. Anyway, we were about a half an hour late, not knowing how far into Coronado the Cays were. They were very nice about our tardiness and got us right into the boat as soon as we arrived. Luciano was our gondolier. He provided us with a bit of history of the company and information about the area. The Coronado Cays were so beautiful at sunset and the water was still and calm. They have warm blankets for customers to use, but the weather was perfect that evening so the blanket was not needed. With a 50-minute gondola ride, we did not feel rushed. We had plenty of time to sight-see, relax, and finish our bottle. Luciano serenaded us beautifully in Italian. Apparently, at the moment, he is only gondolier at the company who sings, so be sure to ask for him. We had a wonderful time and I absolutely recommend this to anyone planning a romantic evening. Also, we learned that they have a gondola that seats 16, so probably a nice way to celebrate a family birthday.

A wonderful experience. We are San Diego locals but had no idea this exist until we received a gift certificate. Nico, our Gondolier, was amazing. He answered all our questions and serenaded us with a little Italian tune. We enjoyed a bottle of wine as we sailed through the Coronado Cays and caught the early part of sunset. We very much loved this experience.

Super romantic and intimate! Me and my boyfriend did this yesterday @7:30pm and it was INCREDIBLE! We had Niko and he was wonderful even offered to sing to us towards the end of the ride. I highly recommend, you also get your photo taken on the gondola and it's free to download !!

Came here to celebrate my girlfriends birthday, the 1 hour gondola ride was so nice to sit down and relax together. We brought our own wine and got the chocolates! The gondola rower was very nice and let us spend time together. A very romantic way for celebration!

Our ride was Amazing!! A beautiful and romantic experience with wonderful views and wine. I highly recommend it. Thank you Gondola!!

We absolutely loved this gondola adventure the customer service was excellent and smooth. Our gondolier, Nico, was a perfect balance between giving us privacy to enjoy a romantic ride while also offering to sing us a song in Italian which was one of my favorite things. When we engaged him, he was so friendly and genuine and when we wanted to just enjoy the ride and talk to each other, he stayed in the background and made it an excellent ride. It was a very beautiful night and a great, simple, sweet date idea.

I cant stop raving about how amazing our experience was with The Gondola Company. While browsing for unique events in the SD area, I came across The Gondola Company and I could not wait to book a sweet romantic gondola ride as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. Our ride took place around 6:00 p.m on a Saturday evening. The ride itself was 50 minutes long and it's a nice leisurely ride through the beautiful Coronado Cays. From the moment I booked, The Gondola Company and it's employees were fantastic in ensuring that we would have a wonderful experience even while adhering to the current restrictions the COVID pandemic has placed on businesses. Our gondolier Dante was professional and wore a mask for the entire ride as well as made sure he kept a safe distance behind us while rowing the gondola. He was polite and made sure all our needs were met including making sure we had easy access to our wine and chocolates for the duration of our ride[ which were placed in the gondola just before we embarked]. Dante had soft soothing Italian music playing on a bluetooth speaker during are ride and it was a nice way to enjoy the romantic experience. My boyfriend really loved the ride and was surprised that he had lived in SD for so long without even knowing this experience existed! I was happy that I was able to surprise him and grateful to The Gondola Company for offering such a wonderful experience. Be sure to add it to your date night/ anniversary night/ or birthday date bucketlist if you're ever in the SD area!

This GONDOLA COMPANY in CORONADO SAN DIEGO , we have been coming here since my son was 2 years old. Recently we visited this place again. This place always has the sweetest front desk receptionist. We came in perfect weather, not too hot or too cold, just fine. Before the Gondolier drives you away from the Dock, the Receptionist will take your Family Photo. It's up to you to agree or not for them to post them on their website. So the Gondolier will bring you around the route in which they are allowed, a very relaxing ride, with few sceneries to see. Great for FAMILY, DATES, COUPLES, or with FRIENDS Our Gondolier is very nice, He Sang mostly FRANK SINATRA's songs ;) and some of our Favorite songs. They also offer Wine and small Snacks you can purchase from them and they will get them ready in the Gondola to bring with you on your Gondola ride. Nice Gondola Company and it's in SAN DIEGO !!!

It was a great experience from start to finish. Will be going again soon! Was fersure our best anniversay yet!

This was the perfect anniversary date and worth every penny! We lucked out and got a perfect night for it too. Our gondolier, Luca, was awesome! It was a really cool way to explore the Coronado Cays and I highly recommend this experience!

What's the weight limit?

Hi there! There's no weight limit to ride on the Gondola ride. The boats already weigh 1500 pounds to start with. Hope this ANSWERS your question. Its definitely worth the 1hour boat ride. Its great to Go just before desk. Enjoy!!

Is the $35/person option still available? Thanks!

I think that's just for the party gondolas. Not the couples. You would have to call them.

Check in process was easy, just follow the email instructions, all very clear. Bring sunscreen, a hat or sunglasses. You can bring your bags and snacks. There is plenty of space under the benches for your belongings. Lots of options for seating all around the boat, both inside and out. Also 2 restrooms available. As well as a Galley with snacks and souvenirs! I didn't realize, but they also sell photo packages of the wildlife from the trip. So you can focus on documenting your group and the good time, They'll capture the animals! :) This crew was Captain Vanessa, Naturalist Ruth, Deck crew Colleen and Sara, and Galley Oscar. They were all so helpful and accommodating. I cannot tell you how warm and inviting they all were. You could definitely tell they loved their jobs. For me...So, despite Dramamine and sea sickness bands I got really nauseous; and I think my 3 year old did too but couldn't verbalize, because she passed out about 1.5 hours into the trip-so I was just kind of sitting towards the back holding my toddler mid trip. Which is about the time when the whales appeared! (Up to that point we saw different birds, pods of dolphins and sea lions.) So these whales on our trip were on the starboard side when they appeared, but I was on the port side, kinda stuck sitting with my sleeping toddler. At one point Colleen came and asked if she could help me move to see the whales, but that was easier said than done, especially not feeling well. I let her know she was sweet but we were okay. Well as the boat tracked the whales, I guess Colleen and Sara both mentioned to the captain that we were kind of stuck in the back on the Port side and the captain ended up turning the boat towards the whales so I could see them. It was the sweetest thing and I felt so seen as a mama. :) I didn't know how a whale watching trip could go above and beyond, but they did! We did a 12:30pm tour on a Monday and there seemed to be a good crowd, but they were not at full capacity, which meant moving around was an option for those that wanted to. We will be back, this was a great choice!

When we first arrived, most of us needed to use the restroom (since there isn't one on the boat), and the girl working at check-in seemed a bit annoyed by that. However, once we got on the boat, she was totally fine and helpful. A few things to note: someone in your group does have to drive the boat, so plan ahead for that. You can bring your own 21+ drinks as long as they're not in glass containers, and you'll need to bring your own ice. Once you're out on the water, it's pretty lively with lots of other boats and people. We played our own music and just hung out--it was a really fun, chill experience. The two hours definitely go by fast, so keep an eye on the time. They're strict about going over, even by a minute, so we set a timer and started heading back 30 minutes before our end time. Whether you're a local or visiting San Diego this is a really fun activity on the weekend with yummy drinks and good vibes. Originally we were booked for a 10:30am tour that goes out to watch the sea lions out on the bay, unfortunately not enough people booked that one so it was cancelled. Even though our original plan was cancelled Tiki Time Tours went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience and not only complimentary upgraded our tickets to a more expensive tour, they also gave our party a free round of drinks for the inconvenience! I think this speaks a lot about a company; anyone can be happy with customer service when everything goes according to plan, but the most important times to step up is when plans get cancelled/changed and that's exactly what they did for us! Instead of the sea lion tour we ended up doing the Tiki Live! tour at 3pm. This tour is about 2 hours and while you're out on the water you mingle with everyone else and play games that can win prizes for yourself, your party or the whole boat! The games were fun, interactive and silly. At some points we got close enough to shore and made people on land be a part of our games! Donny was our tiki tour master and he was really funny during the whole tour. In between games he just let the music play so we could enjoy the atmosphere and drinks. My entire group left with nothing but great things to say about the whole experience. My friend even won a free tour for another time so we will definitely be returning for more tiki fun.

Tickets were around $47 per person for a 2hr water tour around the Bay in a boat decorated in tiki decor. For tourist this tour is great with a ton of fun information about San Diego and stunning views in the water. Minimum 8 people on the boat or there may be cancellation of the tour. PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS. The guide will have some friendly trivia for a chance to win good cash prices, free drinks, gift cards, etc I think that was pretty fun to include in while getting a tour. If you are sensitive to getting seasick, I would recommend a Dramamine beforehand. Although the boat was spacious, it still felt the wakes from the other boats and you can go rocking. In addition there were slow times of moving and turning. Or you can just chuck down a few drinks and feel numb to it all! They have a Tiki Bar with a drink menu (no food) to purchase from and if you bring snacks to eat - you can't eat it on the boat. Drinks were good but their "house" made shots were pretty good! We had a couple rounds of those while on tour - paid round by a passenger or a free shot in the house by the staff. The awkward but not so awkward would be mingling with other folks on the boat that you don't know. One of my friends kept interjecting with another party and while they seem to not mind I could tell they were being polite but if it were me I'd probs be annoyed if someone kept interjecting while I'm having a good time with my friends. Although we all got along and occasionally shared cheers with shots. Luckily the boat was near empty with just a few of us to have some space to do your thing. Overall, nice little 2hr time in the water. Would highly recommend the later session to catch the sunset. Until the next review....
