Personal Choice Services was recommend by the Veterans Hospital (VA). We had this company take care of my loved one for a month and half and during this time there were many times where communication was lost or zero communication occurred. First there was no get to know you visit. This company just had a caregiver show up. Second there was no calendar sent to us to inform us of who would be at our home and when. Third I emailed the company to the address posted on their website, then a few days later being told by the owner she didn't get my e-mail, she asked what address I used when I told her which one she mention that address isn't checked often. Fourth, we had respite care scheduled and when the day came no one showed up, when I called the owner she had our regular caregiver scheduled but that caregiver did not. I had numerous explanations of benefits with denied dates of service, I had to call the VA claims department then followed up with the owner. I have yet to hear back that they are fixed. Other times the caregiver would inform us of a schedule change or the owner would change who and the time a few hours before expected. My final reasoning for ending services was when the owner pushed a supplement promising 180 degree result in quality of life. The owner of Personal Choice Services would also benefit if I ordered this supplement. She mentioned she has many clients on this, even her father in law, which her mother sneaks into the hospital. I felt this was a huge conflict of interest not to mention praying on VA patients as well as vulnerable patients living on a limited income. I emailed the owner on a Friday at 9:30am stating we were no longer in need of there services. That afternoon a caregiver showed up, we sent them away. Monday comes and my husband and I both receive a text as well as a phone call stating a caregiver was at our door. I texted the owner back stating I sent you an email Friday ending services. The owner then sent a text back at 7:40pm. We do not know who Constance is. As well, this is very unprofessional. I have emailed this to the VA Home health care coordinator and plan to communicate higher. The text message is as follows: I'm sorry, my parents have been in hospital I did not receive. I have worked endlessly to fill the shifts. All of your respite Everything. Really? I thought you likedConstance? She has rearranged her whole schedule to be there for you guys. These are not easy things to do. I am surprised that you did not call me.
